They promised to do a quality job…read more Instead, they started 4 days late, rushed prep work (including a horrible caulking job), they got overspray and paint splatters on our landscaping rocks, light fixtures, door handles, concrete, garage door seals, and even our truck. They also refused to paint the top edges of the window and door trim, even though it was clearly stated in the contract. Claiming it was "out of sight, out of mind." Their incompetent crew had obviously done very little, if any, of this type of work before. They made an absolute mess of our home. We have since spent many hours repairing the damage, but much work remains. To top it off, instead of doing quality work and achieving an acceptable outcome, they simply walked off the job without finishing (less than half way through) without even telling us! We had to call them to figure out why they stopped showing up. They claimed our standards were too high and that we were treating them as employees. They later admitted this was not true and continued to blame each other when the other person was not around. In the end, they refused to repair the damages, even though they promised multiple times to take care of it. Instead, they threatened to disolve the business, start over with a new name and only focus on certain services, not including painting. An obvious attempt to avoid liability. Only after we threatened litigation did they agree to provide us with all of the materials, which we paid for up front. The owners are a husband and wife team and are 2 of the most dishonest people we have ever met, both telling us dozens of lies over the course of the job. We absolutely do not recommend Elk Head Contracting for any type of work, regardless of the scope. They are incompetent, do not care about their customers property, and most of all, are dishonest and lack integrity.
