Tom and Debi came out to look at my pool remodel. The pool was only part of the job, and I thought it less complicated to give the contractor the whole job. All American Pool & Spa made a great first, second and third impression. They had great ideas and were reasonably priced. Even though they didn't get the job, they checked on the project and asked how I was doing (my darling husband and the kids' daddy died in August, so this was a gift to my family to enjoy the outdoor space this summer and beyond). When they checked on our job, I appreciated the follow-up and sent them some pictures. A few months later, they were driving by the house and sent a message that they were thinking about me and the kids. They are really wonderful. While we love our new pool, if I had another pool project or knew someone looking to redo an old pool, I would highly recommend Tom and Debi. There are so many greedy takers in the contractor business. I have been through three contractors and thousands of dollars and learned this the hard way. met with owner a few weeks ago to discuss redoing the pool electrical as there was corrosion with the metal casing around the wiring. The owner, Thomas suggested there may need to complete requiring which may be costly as there were pavers that may have to be removed as well. All American Pool &Spa have been my go to for all pool issues. They installed a Pentair variable speed pump in 2017 and a Pentair heater in 2018. All are still working great and have significantly lowered my energy costs. Tom also guided me through the ladwp $1k rebate for the pump, nearly paying for itself!! I'm finally leaving a review because this company needs to get recognized! I just called them to change out my pool lights. Upon review Tom found the lights were still good but the switch had oxidized preventing it to turn on. He also noticed the light wasn't GFCI protected!!! All in all I ended up paying much less then switching out the lights and I'm now protected from something really scary. Another great pool equipment upgrade. Our pump finally died after 20 years. Tom recommended and installed a new Pentair pump with a digital control. It's very energy efficient and quiet. Not a happy customer. My pool filter was neglected and now needs to be repaired. Tom told me it's old and that's why it needs to be replaced. It broke because it was not cleaned and it had so much pressure on the bottom pipes it broke. I had another person come and look at it after Tom told me some crazy price to fix it. The person couldn't believe the state of the filter. He said 30 years in the pool business, he had never seen a more neglected filter. He also said the price Tom gave me was very inflated. I feel like he took advantage of me not knowing much about pools that he could just do enough to get by. Until it broke and I had someone show me what was going on. I recently had my pool pump replaced. These guys beat the competition by almost half and were available to install it the next business day. Two leaks developed after the installation. There was some debate as to whether their installation caused the leaks, but in any case they came back out and repaired both leaks and dressed my filter O ring for free. Tom replaced our old pool motor with an energy efficient one and also provided us with the paperwork needed to get a rebate from the DWP. He did the job quickly and correctly. Also, there was a problem with an electrical box that was affecting our pool lights in conjunction with the new motor and Tom took care of it.
