Remember when Manila had this Havaianas phase where everyone who's anyone wears a pair? When you don't have one or you have like, let's say Ipanema, you were out. If you had fake one (Havanas), you are ridiculed and placed even further from the inner circle.
The place where people would buy these Havs was at All Flip Flops. When they opened a branch in Trinoma, it was crazy. There was a freaking line with a bouncer that looks like a PSG and velvet ropes to moderate the number of people inside.
PROS: The craze has died down and there are no more bouncers nor velvet ropes. But the place is still this brightly lit shop full of slippers and friendly assistants; I could see what the deal was with Havaianas. They're sturdy flip flops made with good quality and interesting designs. I think I still have a pair that I bought five years ago, but it's been demoted to being bathroom tsinelas.
CONS: I haven't bought a pair from All Flip Flops for a while now, since my mom got me enough of those $1 flip flops from Old Navy to last me a lifetime. I just heard that the material and quality of Havs has been getting worse.
TL;DR: Havaianas still has its fans who could easily drop by All Flip Flops for the latest releases and cute designs. read more
