On Friday night I needed a tow and I tried contacting my warranty company for the tow...with no luck for hours, I decided to look online for a tow company near by. I contacted All Pro and within minutes I was scheduling a tow from the highway to our car dealer we work with which was about 50 min away. We were in contact with the driver Kevin the whole time. I went there for a simple alignment and I was immediately Blown Away by the service.. Extremely personal and thoughtful. I sat there and heard them treat customer after customer at a above average level. When I sat there a regular customer called in to ask advice because they had a issue while they were in Florida, probably snow birds. They gave them very good advice. I have used these guys for towing, dead battery fix and tires. The thing to remember is you can't get top quality service at a discount so you have to allow them a fair price for good work. Every visit here has been trouble free. None of this "We found a problem" kind of service. More like "It would be better to..." Good advice kind of operation. And the station is full service. Idiots! Went for emissions testing on a diesel truck and called prior to going with question about exhaust requirements. Was told no issue. Rearranged my whole day to get there by the end of the day. My elderly father was in the area and got into a minor accident. After towing the car they were able to give me an estimate withough trying to gauge us given the situation. Jeff was unbelievable in taking care of the entire problem and even taped a damage window so that the vehicle was driveable. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Quality of the work is very inconsistent. First couple of times, All-Pro was great. But the last time I took a car there, I had a very poor lazy crappy experience. I do most car repairs myself, including head gasket and clutch replacement, timing belt, brakes, A/C, suspension, drive shafts, almost everything. What I need, is a local garage who will PARTNER with me, and dilligently do the work I'm willing to pay someone else to do; whatever it is.  I need honest people who will mention anything they notice wrong, whether it's related to the current job or not. I scheduled a wheel alignment service and dropped off my car the night before, with very specific instructions of what I wanted ALL-PRO to do. I asked them to report the measurements of camber, caster and toe-in (before adjustment, and after).  They did NOT give me a complete report. You see, instead of reporting my car's camber and caster measurements to me (and trying earnestly, to adjust as requested), ALL-PRO CHANGED MY  DIRECTIONS to say, "only reset factory-adjustable settings". Guess what guys? That's why camber bolts and offset strut mounts were invented!!!! They could have been honest, and given me the report, as promised, and discussed options for addressing whatever the situation was. But instead, they charged me a HUNDRED bucks, (A HUNDRED!!) to only adjust the toe-in on my car (and it wasn't even right!!) I wrote on the drop-off form, and called them in the morning, to ask them to give me a call if they found anything they would have trouble adjusting to spec.  They said, "Sure. No problem." I did not get a call. I was greatly disappointed that, they chose to ignore the caster/camber measurements, and HIDE THEM FROM ME by not printing or reporting, and also NOT calling me to discuss what they found. The whole reason I learned to repair my own cars, in the first place, was because I felt I could not trust anyone anymore.  Now All-Pro is just one more name to add to the list. read more

Cannot recommend. My car is a 2006. I don't use it a lot...it is a second car for our family. In the last 3 years, based on what I thought was professional advice from Dave & Jeff, I kept spending 1,000's of dollars on making repairs at All Pro to keep the car going. I didnt have the money to buy a new car. The key Issue was passing state emission's...they assured me with the repairs I was making it would pass. It didn't pass. They told me they would fix it...so it would pass inspection....brought it in over a week ago. Other then an email to them last Wednesday, which they responded to saying it wasn't done, I have had no contact and I have no car during a holiday weekend. I just sent them a message saying I would be in first thing after Memorial Day to pick up the car and bring it to another service center. There have been other MAJOR issues with them...I won't go into them here. I cannot recommend them nor will I ever go back there which is a shame because they are just a few miles away and I always try to support local businesses. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCES! read more

My real estate agent recommended them and they were highly recommended by a landslide on the People of Old Lyme Facebook page. I took my car in for an oil change and they found a serious defect in my tires. (Previously, I was going to the dealership for my services in another state and they never caught it!) It was a warranty issue and they helped me toggle through the process. It was much easier than I thought it would be. I have been a loyal customer for many years. As a single, older woman I was apprehensive about going to any auto repair shop. The first few times I have to say I did keep a very cautious attitude. I am thrilled to write here that I have never been let down. After years of service, Jeff still proudly explains everything he approved to be done - even showing me the parts that needed replacement. He patiently shows me how he was able to save me money. He makes sure I understand what was done and why. However, I don't think his professionalism is limited to just me. I have overheard him treat other customers the same way. I don't know how he does it as he is always busy but he makes me feel like I'm the only one in the room when he is talking to me. I have used All Pro a few times over the past couple of years. While they are more expensive than other auto shops in the area, it used to be worth the extra cost for the level of service you receive. That being said, I don't know if they changed ownership, or if there was a management change, but I just had a terrible experience. I had to book my oil change a week and a half in advance and I told them I could just leave the car with them for the day. They asked for me to drop it off at 9am which seemed fine when I booked the appointment, but I was scrambling to get our kids to summer camp and get to All Pro. I ended up arriving about 20 minutes after 9 and went inside to check in. I apologized for being a few minutes late and immediately the gentleman behind the counter said "sorry, if your late we can't do it today." I guess it's okay for businesses to make customers wait, but not the other way around. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

My service began as a friendly exchange, only to find a wolf in sheep's clothing. I'm a female out-of-towner and broke down 2.2 miles from the shop and was charged an obscene 92 dollars for tow + $10 fluids + $55 compression check + 8 dollars of tax = $168; at this point my car was already burnt toast, and the mechanic who initially looked at it at the scene continued to try to turn over the car, only adding more insult to injury. Repair quotes were one thing then another, the gasket replacement however was fair at 1600 and then 1700 after the second telling. To top it all off, I was only offered $150 for my vehicle, which is LOW, LAZY, and INSULTING, AND supposedly offered to me without have noticed my fairly new tires with only 17k driven and vehicle in otherwise good condition. All of this offered to me for being a WOMAN. Go to this place for DISHONESTY with a friendly face with automotive GENDER DISCRIMINATION alive and well in Old Lyme, CT! If you have to deal with them, haggle/negotiate every step of the way before ANY action is taken. It is YOUR car. read more

Brought my car here for road force balancing due to a highway vibration that persisted after standard balancing. Although they were on time with appt and finished in the expected time/price. They scratched every one of my rims. I have aftermarket rims with narrow lug wells and all 20 lugs wells are now scratched by using the wrong size impact socket. All 4 rims are also scratched around the center cap where they pried them off. I have had these tires balanced and rotated several times at other shops without issues. They should have told me they didn't have the right tools before starting (or at least after noticing the scratches after removing the first lug nut) as I keep a set of thin wall impact sockets in the trunk of my car that fit properly. Now I am left with 4 scratched rims and no improvement in my vibration. So vibration may be from something besides a tire (if RFB was performed correctly) but the scratches are definitely their fault. read more

Insanely slow. Had a 9:30 appointment for an oil change and didn't leave until close to 11:30. Made me late for the rest of my appointments during the day, but didn't think this would happen since an oil change typically only takes 30-45 minutes. Ridiculous. If you're considering going there for an oil change, it's probably wise to allot at least 2 hours. Won't be coming back. read more

Bought tires from them. Two weeks later my tire pressure warning in my car says a tire is low. They found a nail and repaired it for $15. A month later same tire is low again. Go back and the guy tells me I have another nail right next to the other one. another $15 later it's repaired. A month and a half later leaking again. Go back and I get the same story. A small nail right next to the other two previous plugs which he said were really old until I reminded him he put them in!. But now he has to patch it from the inside. $20 bucks later. I'm done with them. There is no way i picked up a nail right next to the other ones in the same tire. If they need the money that bad where they can't admit a plug was leaking it's not a place I'd go back to. read more

Excellent experience with Jeff and All Pro. Needed several repairs before taking our 2006 SUV on a cross country move and they were done quickly and at a fair price. We appreciated being offered a loaner car and being kept in the loop about the repairs. At one point, they even brought me into the garage and showed me exactly what they would be fixing and why. I highly rate Allpro, in my experience very efficient, easy to work with, fast turnaround and friendly service with clear explanation. They got me out of a hole 2 days before Christmas after someone dinged 2 wheels and destroyed 2 tires on my car. They picked the car up, and overnight repaired the wheels a fitted new tires so I had the car for Christmas. Could not have asked for more.
