I was a little uncomfortable with people taking pictures of the headstones but it was very interesting. When the church was built they had to move some remains that were in the cemetary so the vault served that purpose as the final resting place for several people. The interior of the church is really lovely. There are pictures of it from the past and it was previously much more ornate. Still beautiful but I prefer the interior as it is now. The skylights, stained glass and organ are of particular interest.

Also, the Priest seems very afraid of social media and admits to spending time 'peeping' on his parishioners on it and calls them out and has even villainized a few people anonymously in his anti twitter, facebook, social media sermons. Intimidating others with I watch you on Social Media. Will not permit Parish school to use social media. The school is nice and has gone through some changes with a new principal this year. The school accepts the Ed Choice Voucher offered by the State of Ohio to residents in certain CPS areas that have a designated public school with failing academic standards. Some wealthy streets and poor streets are included. The Ed Choice Voucher is offered to these residents with existing tax money at State of Ohio. Some Parishioners openly and vocally resent the children and families that receive the Ed Choice Voucher and attend Annunciation Parish School. Some have even vocalized their resentment in the parking lot before & after mass and at Parish/School meetings. It is apparent that the Pastor 'stirs the pot' when it comes to discord or misunderstandings between fellow parishioners and/or school families instead of acting as a Mediator or a bridge to conflict resolution or healing. Also, If a young server comes late, forgets, or has a personal conflict and misses serving - the priest criticizes the family (child) in announcements at end of mass in front of congregation and gives a long lecture on being on time, etc. One can go to all the prayer groups they want, quote scripture constantly to show off they comprehend the bible, get on a pulpit and speculate and judge, brag about how many canned goods they donate or how much money they donate to get that Rice Bowl goal, but what ever happened to being kind, caring and celebrating uniqueness and the gifts that all have & bring to a church community?! Annunciation Church is such an attractive structure and the grounds are beautiful. The choir is really wonderful. The Parish is fortunate to have a school that offers children a Catholic based education in a beautiful part of Cincinnati. It's a shame the vibe and message continues to be one of "do as I say, not as I do".

Fantastic singing, friendly congregation and great sermon. There was even someone signing the entire mass. As soon as we sat down, people were welcoming us and shaking our hands. At one point, we weren't sure what words we were singing and I asked the lady behind me. She got up and brought us back papers to help us. There was a little more movement and clapping during songs than I have seen before, but I actually liked that. There was a visiting priest from South Africa and he tied in the sermon to an experience he had as a young child. Those are the types of sermons that I connect to the most. Towards the end, they asked any visitors to please stand up and they gave us applause. Not only that, but the priest welcomed us and the entire congregation at the same time said out loud that we were always welcome at their church! It was very moving - so much so that it brought tears to my eyes. At one point, during mass I got goose bumps on my arms. That does not happen. Amazingly, when we left the church my friend noted what time it was. Past the hour that mass normally is but it was well worth every extra moment and what's more - we didn't even realize it. Hubby and I both said that it was our favorite of all the churches that we had been to and would be back again. Please try this place - you won't be disappointed! If any parishioners are reading this, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Now, FBC has moved to the "corner" of Interstate 75 and Mt Zion Road, 2 miles from its original location. And this church is MASSIVE. From the second you see the steeple on I-75 you expect a large mega-church. Well, you'd be wrong. Yes, the church has over 1000 members...most of whom go to the 10:30 am Sunday service (they offer an 8:00 am "sermon only" service as well). Yes, this cost millions of dollars to put together and looks it. But FBC is just a local church. FBC doesn't have national television exposure...and doesn't necessarily have to have it. Their pastoral staff is very caring, and will make a point to welcome you when they see you. Their ministry is unlike any other in Northern Kentucky...real, straightforward and to-the-point. And the singles/young adult ministry, which I have been part of for 6 years, is one of the strongest in Boone County. FBC is a church I would recommend to anyone looking for a church home.
