I've been meaning to write this review for a long time but life has a way of getting away from you. I took two blocks of lessons with All Seasons Horse Riding and their team is phenomenal. I had and rode horses as a kid but it had been a good 20 years since my last ride and I'd lost all the skills and confidence I once had. All Seasons helped me build that confidence right back up. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, patient and approachable. Every lesson there seriously felt like therapy. Just being around the horses, the kind folks and learning without a ton of pressure was always so nice. They make it a point to end each session on a high note - it's good for the horses and for you as a rider. During extra hot or rainy days, sometimes the riding lessons would be canceled but more often than not, the lesson would just be horsemanship and/or groundwork. I know some people only want the riding parts of the lessons but having instructors that can teach you the horsemanship and groundwork techniques is invaluable. You build so much more skill and appreciation for the horses that way. It allows you to actually foster relationships with the horses too. I enjoyed that aspect so much that sometimes I'd request those lessons even if the weather was good to ride. I had to take a break due to my own budget constraints but i will be back! The lessons are absolutely fairly priced and worth every dollar. read more

The teachers are unbelievably kind and friendly and they'll help your kid learn and grow from their experiences! The owner Julie is incredibly responsive. All seasons takes riders of all ages -- my child takes classes regularly, but I took just one class, and it was amazing. It's a great vibe: about learning, building skills, & challenging riders without being uber competitive. They kept trying to sell us more lessons instead of scheduling the lessons we had already paid for.

I second another bad review with a similar experience. Do not buy block lessons!!! It is a bait & switch experience. I started a few years ago and all went well, until it did not. After buying bulk lessons, scheduling became a bit of a mess. For some reason I could not have a weekly set time. During summer they were closed because of camps. When it rained lessons were canceled. When it was too hot lessons were only horsemanship. At some point I was asked to confirm weeks ahead, not sure how anyone can do that. The name "all seasons" is misleading. Also, pay attention to whatever you sign. Given the opportunity, they will use it against you. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this place and was very disappointed over the way my situation was handled. read more

With over a decade of experience in teaching STEM at university level, I may not know much about horses -- but I do know the difference between good and excellent education. The teaching system at All Seasons Horse Riding is genuinely impressive. What stands out most is the seamless coordination among instructors: each focuses on a different aspect of horsemanship, yet the overall experience remains cohesive and thoughtfully integrated. We took a small group of high school students with ASD to this wonderful location and enjoyed two hours of horseback riding and grooming horses! The workers were very kind, generous, and accommodating for our kids, and the horses were very sweet as well! A year ago, my daughter started taking horse riding lessons with All Season Horse Riding. I want to share that ASHR has been WONDERFUL and a BLESSING to my daughter, and to my husband and I. During this year, our daughter has learned SO MUCH! Not only about how to RIDE and CARE for horses, but she also has gained CONFIDENCE. Sarah and Julissa have been her two main instructors. Both possess a vast KNOWLEDGE of horses and you can easily see they LOVE what they do. As good coaches, they have the Ability to Teach, Encourage and Challenge my daughter at the appropriate times. She has LEARNED so much over the course of this year and we look forward to the next!! The setting is also wonderful! (We go to the Finley location.) Here, there are 3 practice arenas, one of which is covered, making it so she can ride during the rainy season. Parking is not an issue. ASHR really is a high-light for our family! My son is 8 years old and has been riding for about a year and a half. He has special needs, but coming to All Seasons to work and to be with the animals provides him with this beautiful sense of calm and peacefulness! He loves it. It is actually my favorite hour of the week. You should see how confident he is on a horse now without a lead rope. You can feel the confidence radiating from this little man! His trainer, Bre, is amazing. She understands my son and she works so well with him. We 100% agree with many of the reviews previously posted. Lack of staff and scheduling is not consistent through out the whole year we are in for lessons. We have been in lessons for more than a year with multiple instructors involved. We witnessed a same instructor was yelling at a young boy who might be just 5 or 6 in different occasions which resulted in my child's anxiety for her lesson. We also had experience with the instruction who has phone on her hand the whole session with my child. I would say they might not be professionally trained to be an instructors, but they are definitely loving what they love to do. However, with the price they are charging, it shouldn't be the way it is. Speaking of progress of my child after a year at all season, I am not sure how all staff communicate among each other. Personally, I don't see communication PERIOD. My child had an incident which apparently it has NOT been noted anywhere and we have to repeat her incident again and again with different staff. It get us really frustrated and our child more anxious about the lesson. For more than a year of spending thousands of dollars at all season, I am sorry I have to say. My child has NOT made too much progress besides really really basic skills. Don't get me wrong the owner Julie is a sweet and nice lady even we never met in person. But for the business, the price and the service they offered. I for sure won't be a return customer. read more

So happy we found Julie and her caring staff (esp Julissa) at All Seasons Horse riding. My son had some great experiences doing equine therapy so that's what I initially got us looking into a program. The therapeutic value alone is wonderful. Some days my son went just feeling a bit down and by the end of the session he was feeling great and reconnected. Everyone was always very supportive of my son! He started off for months just doing the horsemanship program and caring for the horses... But eventually he built up to getting on and riding the horses. Highly recommend!! read more

My 11yo daughter developed a sudden interest in horses and wanted to learn how to ride. We have yet to do their summer camp but she has started with lessons and I was very impressed that they emphasized communication and care of the horses before they talked about anything related to riding. It is really important that the kids understand communication, safety and building a relationship with these large animals. I did a lot of research for horse riding lessons in the area. I spoke to so many different people from different riding schools before I decided to schedule a lesson for my bf's daughter at All Seasons. She never rode before but had shown interest, so it's very important to us that her first experience would be a good one (also safe). She had Jordan as an instructor and he was amazingly good with her. We watched her going from being unsure, nervous to confident in less than an hour. We liked that there was only one other lesson going on so instructors could really focus on the children and there's enough space for everyone to move around without bumping into another. We were also amazed how gorgeous the horses are. They all looked happy and definitely well taken care of. We are looking into doing more lessons, but I wanted to ensure I wrote this review before I forget. This place deserves a five star in our book. Great for children's parties, not so much for riding lessons. Lessons are EXPENSIVE. This was by far the priciest place I contacted, but their location was convenient, so I thought it would be worth the premium. Lessons turned out to be extremely difficult to schedule. The riding arena is small to begin with, and because other lessons are happening at the same time, it is crowded with other instructors, horses, and students, making lessons difficult. The parking situation was the icing on the cake, and in the end it just wasn't worth the price. read more

Hire real teachers instead of using your older students on younger kids. Be consistent with your part of the sale agreement. You charge families in advance but several times you were not ready to start a lesson due to lack of teachers and/or horses. Treat the horses better. Don't use young/small kids to train your ponies. read more

After reading other reviews here, I thought I owe it to ASHR to share what a wonderful experience my daughter and I have had here. Both my 3 year old daughter and I have been taking lessons here for several months and we both absolutely love it. The instructors have all been incredibly kind and supportive. I've been riding for a long time and I've encountered a lot of grumpy horsepeople over the years, but not once have I had a negative experience with the lovely people at ASHR. My 6yo daughter has been taking lessons since February and I can't believe how quickly she took to horse riding and how much she has learned. Julie was incredibly accommodating when I explained that my daughter has some sensory issues and every trainer she has worked with is aware of them before we arrive. We have been to both locations and love them. They have been extremely flexible with scheduling. They are very communicative when weather will impact riding and the lesson will be strictly horsemanship with the option to not attend (my daughter always wants to go no matter what and has learned so much about caring for the horses.) I just recently moved to the area and was told about All Seasons from a co-worker. She has had her child taking lessons there for 2 years and she loves it. I can completely understand why. I called and spoke to Julie, she explained how lessons worked and the cost. I liked the idea that my daughter would learn about the horses and their care in addition to basic horsemanship. She enjoys having other kids around before, during and after her lessons. She has already made friends. The atmosphere is friendly and fun, while being educational as well. All the instructors have been nothing but patient and kind. Her 4th lesson is next week and she hasn't stopped asking me about adding another lesson to her week. (we started with 1 lesson per week) She also heard about the birthday parties and the camps, as well as saw pictures. (as I did also) I can't think of a better place for my daughter to be on any occasion. All Seasons has been nothing but happiness for my child and that is all that matters. I have to say, hands down this is the best place to ride. Julie is so amazing and Very friendly, she makes the kids feel so comfortable to ride. my daughter is 4 years old and she can ride so well. My daughters been riding for about 8 months now. I also have my bonus children involved as well the weeks we have them. They all love it. Sweet as Sweet can be! The whole team at All Season's is simply wonderful to work with. Julie is so attentive and thoughtful, and she's a great trainer. She had my daughter up and riding within minutes, and her events are really fun. I love the laid back atmosphere, but the utmost attention to safety and well being for riders and horses are always tended to. Julie is really great with kids, she's got a real bond and connection to all of the animals too. I've seen them do three different types of events (private lesson, party, and camp) all of which have been a great experience for all. read more

If you are looking to put your child in horseback riding I recommend taking caution with "All Seasons Horse Riding." I was a former horse owner and grew up riding. My 6 year old daughters safety was compromised by her assistant before and after her lesson. Additionally, I feel that after 6 lessons, my daughter still knows very little about riding and horsemanship. When I discussed all of this with the owner, she made me feel very uncomfortable by not accepting responsibility and tried to pin it mainly on my 6 year old that she wasn't listening/focused and has had enough lessons to know things. She also claimed her horses are "bomb proof" and "would never hurt or kick anyone" or "move not 1 inch when being untacked." Seriously? Anyone who knows horses, knows this is NOT true and CAN NOT be relied upon!!! Horses spook and move around and can unknowingly hurt a small child or adult. I requested a refund for the cost of the remaining lessons because I feel extremely uncomfortable with the idea of putting my daughter back in harms way in this program. After a back and forth battle, I was finally told I would receive a refund for the remaining lessons we will not attend. Lastly, she also canceled a lesson at the very last minute when I was already at the ranch. I feel this is extremely unprofessional. Maybe my expectations are just too high...But I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

My daughter has been having the time of her life at All Seasons!! Julie, Cash, Alex, Jordan, Tricia and the rest of their staff are skilled trainers as well as being fantastic with horses and kids alike. The horses are well trained and responsive to voice commands; they are well cared for and the stalls and arena area are kept clean and tidy. Pricey, but really awesome. I was willing to spend the extra $ to get my daughter a lesson over Spring Break, when availability was challenging. All Seasons teaches good horse care- about half of the lesson focused on this. My daughter was super comfortable. Everyone was super friendly. Appropriate mask use. Adorable pig on the property. Book a lesson!! Julie and her team at All Seasons Horse Riding are the nicest, most welcoming people who connect with each and every rider, to make you feel right at home. They take great care of their gorgeous animals and the little humans who ride them. I love that the instructors accommodate all levels of riders, young and old, and offer therapeutic riding. Julie has beautiful, horses that are extremely well trained. And they have a cute petting zoo. The facilities are conveniently located off the 680 highway, which is a huge advantage over the barn we previously rode at out on Camino Tassajara Road. Julie's summer camps are so much more than just riding horses. My daughter's horse riding skills improved dramatically with the focused 1:1 and group instruction she received at camp. She had healthy lunch and snacks, participated in games, gardening, arts & crafts, visits from the Vet and much more. Ran across All Seasons while looking for a late summer 'day trip' of horse riding for my 2 grandkids. Hard to find any hourly/half day trail ride type activities in this area, so we settled on an hour session of horse educ/grooming/riding with Julie. My expectations for that hour were far exceeded! First of all, both grandkids LOVED every minute....their horses were gentle & easy to work with & Julie was beyond amazing - what a knowledgeable & talented horse person she is! Both kids were trotting comfortably by the end of the hour! I plan to enroll the grandkids in a summer camp session next summer - can't think of a better gift to give them! read more

If I could give this establishment more stars I surely would. My husband and I recently visited All Seasons Horse Riding in our search for a horse riding academy where our granddaughter could take riding lessons. We spent quite a bit of time talking with Julie Payne who co-owns the business with her husband. Julie was gracious and answered a myriad of questions, all to our satisfaction. We got such a warm and fuzzy feel for All Seasons that we signed our granddaughter up on the spot and canceled the rest of our appointments. We met some of the staff and observed an ongoing lesson. We highly recommend All Seasons. It offers everything you could want for your little (or big) rider. Ask Julie about their expansion plans too. We could tell how passionate and anxious she is to get the project going. Once the expansion is complete All Seasons will also offer trail riding. This small family-owned business has it all.
