Mr Kidwell did not seem familiar with the IRS tax laws regarding business losses. He informed me that the previous year's tax preparer had misinformed me and did not properly prepare my return. He became very defensive when I questioned his knowledge on the subject. Was quite hostile so when I objected to his behavior, he said I could "take my things and leave". Subsequent to this, I consulted with 2 CPA's recommended by business owners. As well as 2 business owners who are friends and neighbors. When presented with the same questions, I was informed that I was correct and therefore Mr Kidwell was not knowledgeable regarding this area of tax law. I believe this is what provoked such a negative experience in the first place. I would not recommend this firm.

When I sent the email in the beginning with my information and asking for advice I was emailed back with how pricing went and I immediately paid what they were asking to even get on the schedule. Most lawyers do not take a consultation fee and if they do it goes towards their consultation. Again, spoke to no one about anything I needed until a requested a refund. Then the lawyer going to call and leave a message after he had someone call to reschedule about how he reviewed everything. I needed you that afternoon. I didn't need your services anymore after you called to reschedule.

For example, I cannot access my personal account with the condo association on-line. Further, I cannot pay my quarterly fees or other charges using electronic payment, either with a credit card or direct charge from my personal checking account. I believe this is the only service provider I have who hasn't moved to electronic payment. It is time for them to make some investment in technology. As the prior reviewer noted, they are very dependent on a few people. Workforce or office disruption would result in operational disruption. If the firm doesn't advance to the 21st Century quickly, it will be time to look for a new provider.

This gives Steve Hart, the principal, great insight into what various goods and services associations typically purchase cost. His prices are reasonable and his service is great. When I was first elected president of the Villa Mare HOA ten years ago, I greatly appreciated his knowledge of what had happened over the previous twenty years, plus the fact that he had the last eight years of accounting records on his laptop. My greatest concern recently was that there was no one in his firm with his deep knowledge of his clients. He too was concerned about this, and so has been training a potential replacement, Dolly Smith. She accompanied him to budget workshops for a couple of years and now has the knowledge to lead them. This is a great resource for any HOA, but especially for those who have relatively inactive boards or boards with high rates of turnover.
