His assistant, Maggie, takes care of scheduling and calls to remind you before your appointment. I've always appreciated their flexibility with scheduling. Dr. Sheik is professional, friendly, and courteous to make sure that you are doing okay during the appointment. His cleanings are thorough and gentle. I know some people are deathly afraid of the dentist, but that's because they haven't had Dr. Sheik! He is a five-star dentist and I consider myself lucky to be his patient.

My older son has received treatment there for the last two years. My younger son went in today to have an upper treatment started. He is 9 and will need a lot of work done over time. We agreed on this treatment plan pictured here in October. Today I was told that if I needed to also agree to start lower expander treatment, which would add thousands to the bill. I explained to the doctor that I was a single mom of three children and I needed to take the treatment one step at a time. We had agreed on this plan and I was prepared to pay for this and get the upper treatment today. Dr. Selnick said that she was "not comfortable taking me on as a client" because essentially she needs her clients to be able to jump when she says to jump. That if I didn't "trust her" enough to have a good relationship and allow her to begin all of the treatments at once that she couldn't treat my son. She said she would consider it if I signed a paper saying they thought it would be best to do both upper and lower treatments and I said I would sign it. Then she said "it doesn't matter, I don't think you are the right fit for me." So to be clear, the right fit for Dr. Selnick is someone with money, who doesn't ask questions, who doesn't expect the agreed-upon treatment or payment plan to be accepted. Be ready to be asked (or demanded) to pay exponentially more and asked to leave if you push back. I'm mortified.

Here we go: Her business is failing and she relies on her son (Omid Janloo) from Healthy Smiles to give her clients. She has not updated her practice with technology that you see at most dental offices - which is not fair with the prices she is giving compared to the current market. For example she still hand makes molds rather than sending it to a lab for more precision. But the price is the same which does not make any sense what so ever. She will try to lure you in with a "discount" but please do not fall for it. She drills too much of the enamel, permanently making my teeth have gaps in between. After going to a different clinic, my new dentist was horrified about what she did with my teeth and I had to pay thousands of dollars to fix my teeth. Please for the love of god, do not try to cheap out and get braces from her, and instead go to an actual orthodontist, you will thank yourself later. He and his staff were very friendly, yet professional and made sure I was comfortable from the beginning. They provided me with educational materials about the procedure well ahead of time to make sure I was prepared for the appointment. I had heard so many horror stories about getting wisdom teeth extracted from my friends, but my experience was as good as it gets when it comes to getting wisdom teeth out! It only felt like I was asleep for a few minutes, and before I knew it I was awake and heading home. I was in no pain at all, only a little bit sore with minimal swelling, and didn't have to take any pain medications at all in the days after the procedure. I went back to work the very next day. I was contacted by the office the day after my procedure to ask how I was doing, which made me glad to know they cared about my well being. The stitches were dissolvable, and were gone within 2 weeks. I was healed up and back to eating whatever I wanted within 3 weeks. Overall, I am extremely pleased with the way my procedure and healing process went, and with Dr. Hishmeh's skill in the operatory.
