Horrible driving school. Half the teachers don't spend the time to explain the process of driving. The in-class teacher was a joke. I went through 3 instructors and still didn't find anyone worth my time who could teach me how to drive. They were either rude, unprofessional, and simply mean. Or they did not care to explain everything thoroughly. I wasted $700 here. I will be talking my business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing. read more

There are better Driving Schools, I don't recommend this one. Instructor would cancel at last minute, turn up in a car that was not road worthy and had no "All Star" logo on it. We change instructors three times. I asked for a refund many times due to my teen not taking all of the lessons, they never did. Very unprofessional service. PLEASE DO NOT pay all at once, that's how they trap you. It's best to pay as you go so you're able to back out if you don't like your instructor or school. (Wish someone told me that). My instructor here was Craig, he's an ok guy but as a driving instructor he's unprofessional. I believe he was a hockey coach before and would try to coach me by yelling and even swearing at me instead of teaching, which can be really dangerous for someone who is already anxious driving. He would teaches by printing out his lessons on how to drive... It was like he was trying to teach me how to drive by using a game outline which is something you would do to coach sports... He would even at times compare me to other students who were " able to do it in one try". Craig needs to develop and  understand that every situation and student are not the same and will need to be taught differently. From my experience I had to stop my driving lessons because of the COVID lock down in January 2022 (which was only for about a month) . Almost two months went by I didn't hear from my instructor. I had to call the school because my instructor was not reaching out or answering my call and my g2 test was in a couple of days and I still had about 6 more lessons. I even asked for a new instructor but the girl on the phone did nothing.(calling the school is pretty useless all they do is just talk about you) On top of that he was extremely unprofessional would call me at 11pm or 15mins before my lessons to cancel . When I called the school about him he asked me "so you were bitching about me". I guess he was trying to be funny but when you say it more then once it becomes extremely rude and disrespectful. I even had to book my g2 test myself because he kept on booking months that were not agreed upon and worked best for him, he would make the smart remark's multiple times, " I HATE when students book their test themselves" knowing I booked it myself. Most of the times I wasn't getting the full hour lessons because he sits there talking or does a demo lesson. I was really only driving for 15 to 25mins. There were also times when I was not understanding something like parking, because I'm not someone who has a lot of driving experience, he would get so frustrated and had no patients with me and would even say "do you know how fucking frustrating this is as a driver instructor".(if I knew what I was doing I wouldn't be taking lessons.) There's a lot more that I could say but mostly driving instructor should never get frustrated at students or show signs of frustration and from reading past reviews from yelp this company really needs to take that into consideration. read more

All star is one of the worst driving schools I've ever had to deal with. my son was given an instructor who wouldn't even bother to call him by his name . he was only referred to as "boy". we asked for a change in insteuctors and he was given another instructor who was a chain smoker. he used to smoke while instructing. my son used to smell his smoke after his one hour lesson. The company only wants to make money out of their students. I would never recommend All star to anyone!! read more

Horrible 'teachers' I have ever come across. One of their instructors Mr. 'S' did not let me drive because I'm new. Obviously, I am new that is why I am at the driving school... TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE. Also he keeps on cancelling on me 15-minutes before the lesson. Don't even bother here to be honest, I just want the 10 hours I paid for to get the certificate and be rid of this school. Also he texts while he drives and visibly lost his patience at me-- the beginner driver. Edit: I forgot to add, he cancelled twice. First excuse was his car broke down. The worst driving school ever. All the 5 star reviews are fake. Once you are assigned to a driver it takes them forever to get back to you. My instructor told me his car broke down the day I was scheduled for my lesson. I had to call the school to assign me to a new instructor. They stop picking up my calls as I only finished 8 lessons and didn't even help me book my road test. Literally the worst school, poorly ran, poor instructors. Waste of money read more

The In-class lessons were useless and barely touched upon any of the rules of the road. The Instructor was more concerned with his comedy routine than teaching anything worthwhile. Obnoxious and rude receptionist didn't come in one day because she apparently had a car accident, which reeks of an uncreative person attempting to rationalize unprofessional behaviour. On that day, students ended up waiting outside of the locked classroom for the instructor to come, whom also came in 15-30 minutes late every day despite the students coming in early every time. Consistent tardiness is unacceptable. The practical driving lessons were good, but I imagine they were comfortable because I was fairly experienced in driving already. Rarely, there were glimpses of the instructor's impatience, which I felt were not particularly conducive to my learning. One can imagine such sternness being more evident with less experienced students. The 20 hours of in-class 'lessons' were a waste of time, but I'll award two stars for the practical driving lessons, which were competently relayed and useful. That said, if you're looking to get these lessons over with and are a decent driver already, maybe this is the school for you. read more

I purchased the middle ($500) package for my husband at Christmas time 2017. He completed the 3 day in class portion, during which he was subjected to the instructors racist and derogatory remarks or (Jokes)as he would explain. As people of colour this was offensive. There was also a physical fight that broke out and resulted in the police being called, All star did nothing to ensure that everyone else was ok and felt safe returning. Directly following we attempted to book his first in car lesson, the instructor was very difficult to reach and required us calling the company again to get a returned phone call. He also gave large windows of time such as 11am-3pm and would show up at 4pm. This was obviously not ok so we reached out to the company again to switch instructors. Finally we received an instructor who came on time. The only issue we had was once he was finished lessons the instructor stated oh I think you need more. It was clear there wasn't thought or attention to detail put in, and that this school wanted more money. We had a family member teach his the basic's and he learned in 2 lessons what the instructor failed to teach in 10. We asked the instructor in MAY to book the test and for four months had ignored phone calls and text. I reached out to the company again and was told he would call back, 24 hrs later no response I was fed up. I called and spoke to the owner and he stated this wasnt how his business runs and that he would offer me 2 lessons FREE and book the test. He booked the test immediately, when I insisted on booking one of the lessons before we left the country for 2 weeks he stated no and that I needed to text him when he came back. We did and received no response I called. This man who is the "Owner" stated he never got texts, even though their marked read and proceeded to continue the conversation and switch between me and the current driving lesson he was giving to someone in a car. I'm not sure if that's the quality of service you want to learn from... I in no way find it appropriate to be on your phone while teaching someone to drive. NOT SAFE. All of this was intensely frustrating and I wanted to file an official complaint. I was directed to Natasha from head office. She stated that while she did not know the whole story she could in fact tell that we are the problem. That's the level of customer service this place has. I say all of this to say, go somewhere else.. your money will be better spent and you will probably learn something. There is a reason that all the negative reviews say the same thing, and really look at the responses of the "owner", this place is a WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY. I went here a while back so I can finally share now that they tried to bribe me with extra driving hours to take down a poor review I had left them on Google. I'm fairly sure all the 5 star reviews are either fake or students bribed with extra hours. If you scroll through them, they often mention the same instructor for a bunch of reviews in a row, and then another instructor, a bunch in a row. There is a pattern. I also share the sentiment that many reviewers had, which was that the in class instructor was rude and offensive, sometimes making racist comments. The driving instructors were not much better from my experience. If you look at the owner's response to the negative google reviews, you will see the truthfulness in the claims that they have poor customer service. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. In class is completely useless, but my practical driving experience was a nightmare. My instructor was completely unprofessional and sexist. I would be very wary of sending young females to this school. To clarify, it has nothing to do with sexual inappropriateness, my instructor was just extremely patronizing and disrepsectful. (I just feel like you can stick up for yourself a little bit better as an adult than you can as a child. Hence I wouldn't be happy with my 16 year old daughter having to sit through a lesson with that guy.) Beware! Also biggest tip I can give is DO NOT PAY FOR ALL YOUR LESSONS UP FRONT. Pay as you go - give yourself an escape route. If you pay up front, you are stuck with them. I have never had service this bad before. In car instructors talked on phone, checked phone messages, did not show up, rescheduled in the last minutes many times, did not show the specifics, did not pay attention to student's driving.Dangerous! In car instructor even does personal things while I am driving. They make you drop off the previous students. Extremely unprofessional talking, some instructors are mean, rude . dirty cars. One instructor made me wipe his car. He spit outside the window all the times. He even got out of the car at the intersection, let me stay in the car alone . Horrible school. What a waste of my money! I have to change instructors a few times. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SCHOOL. All the stars reviews are probably fake. Do not believe it. Bad customer service or someone just woke up on the wrong side of the bed?: I called the school at one time to clarify something from their website and the lady on the phone said something along the lines of, "Everyone is supposed to know what that is but I sometimes still have to explain." How can anyone make such an assumption like that when you don't know if the person is new to your services, to your website, or to Canada? On the other hand, the driving instructor I had was fine, except for once or twice when he'd forget an appointment. read more

I wouldn't advise coming here. First off let me just say, the 4 days spent in class is completely useless. Anyone with common sense can figure out the crap they speak here. Oh yes I need to spend 4 days coming in to see that the stop sign means stop. The red traffic light means stop, thank you very much. Worth the $500, right? The test to get your G1 and studying for it will teach you a lot more. Beyond being common sense, the teachers are always late, they make it utterly boring. The only reason I would go here is because it is cheap. If you have more money, please spend it elsewhere. The receptionist is always somewhere else talking on the phone. If you have an actual question, expect to google it. Now with the driving lesson, NOTHING they talked about in class is used when you're driving with your instructor. First off, every time I called my instructor, they wouldn't answer their god damn phone. No big deal, but the second instructor is so utter trash. He just talks down you, doesn't teach shit. I rather get a family and/or friend to teach me driving because I would learn a lot more without the attitude. If you don't want to be a professional driving instructor, please don't try to teach. Please don't waste your money at this driving school! My instructor Farooq and company run a low rate business. When I booked lessons with them, they would always be late or cancel without notifying me. Than when I would try to make new appointments they would not respond to texts. This may be a cheaper option than other driving schools in the GTA, but trust me, you definitely do not get quality! read more

Got my son driving lessons at a cost of $30.00 a lesson, many times his Instructor Craig Foster would give him a double 2 hr lesson. After 10, yes 10 lessons costing $300.00 he never called back to schedule further app's, guess he got enough cash to line his pockets from us. Both my Son and I learned more about his life and where he had worked than anything about driving...When we both suggested maybe it would be better to take the full course the Instructor said it wasn't necessary?? My son even called the instructor out about him always being late for the scheduled app's or trying to bring him home early B4 the lesson was even over...Waste of time but mostly a waste of money! read more

The bad things about this company: *Their drivers have up to 150-200 students each. That many students each is insane. *They have absolutely no flexibility or availability. I called and got a lesson booked for nearly 3 weeks later. Then I tried to set another one up for the week after, because apparently you have to book 2 weeks in advance, and my instructor told me to text him at a specific time, which I did. He then ignored me for 2 days. When I finally got on the phone with him, I just wanted to book a date 2-3 weeks ahead - instead, he lectured me about how the DriveTest website has been down for a week which means (??) they have to give priority to the people whose tests are already booked. I don't understand how people being unable to book their road tests online has anything to do with not being able to schedule a session with me two weeks in the future. Side note: although the website was down, the DriveTest phone and in-person booking were fully functional, so again, ??? *He told me I should expect 1 hour every ten days (he was so fully booked when I scheduled my first session that I ended up scheduling a time I would have to miss class). On the phone, I said "Okay, great! So when I see you on Tuesday, we can schedule another hour sometime in the ten days after?" He said, "My dear, you ask too many questions. You will get one hour definitely when I see you on Tuesday. After that we see." *I understand booking two weeks in advance, and I understand giving priority to people whose tests are booked. What I don't agree with is 'giving priority' to those other students to the extent that it felt like pulling teeth to get ONE HOUR scheduled in three weeks. The good things about this company: *They fully refund any classes you haven't completed, so I jumped ship to Winston Driving (who are incredibly lovely and flexible) with all my money back I don't feel this is the instructors' fault, but these types of problems are unavoidable if you're assigning even 100+ students to one instructor. Either stop accepting new students, or hire more instructors. read more
