I have had limited contact with this firm, but what contact I have had was wholly unpleasant. They advertise that they work with landlord/tenant law among other areas of law. I had an incident with my landlady that I wanted to seek legal advice on (unpermitted, unannounced entry). I called to speak with an attorney, who proceeded to cut me off, impugn my intelligence, and give me flip and useless advice. He was impatient, dismissive, and rude. I thanked him for the insult and hung up. If this matter escalates to the point that I need to hire a lawyer, this firm is absolutely not going to be on my call list. read more

I was charged with Underage drinking as well as Paraphernalia. I called multiple firms looking for lawyers when I received a piece of mail from AAAL. A man named Marc Taiani wanted to represent me at my underage hearing case. So, I called multiple lawyers looking for the best bang for my buck, and Marc fit perfectly. Of the lawyers I spoke to trying to find someone I felt secure representing to me, Marc had the best quality of information for the lowest price. On top of also having some of the best prices, he sticks to his word. Marc promised I would be able to fix my mistakes without worrying about a permanent record. I needed a family law attorney, and found AAAL on the internet. Upon calling their office, they seemed to really care about my case, and seemed to want to help. They agreed to even meet with me that day. It was advertised, on several websites that this "initial consultation" would be free of charge, and I made sure of this on the phone, before going out there. I was told that I would get an hour to discuss the basis of my case, and if I decided to have AAAL represent me, I would be given a price quote. I wasn't even there for 40 minutes, a lot of which, I was sitting in a room by myself. The lawyer told me that he could represent me at one hearing, and told me how much that would cost. His secretary made some copies of my paperwork. I asked the attorney to do one small thing for me ASAP, as I knew my rights had been violated, and it was something that he could most likely fix in one phone call. He never made any attempt to do so. I was given an appointment for the next week, of which was cancelled at the last minute. The next appointment that I was given was also cancelled. When I called the office to speak to an attorney regarding my case, since I wasn't getting to see one, I was told to come into the office and bring money. I was continuously asked how much money I would be bringing with me, while I had already given a "deposit" of several hundred dollars, and he had NOTHING DONE FOR MY CASE. After several attempts to get this lawyer to work for me, and getting absolutely NO WHERE, I asked for my money back. He refused to give me any of my deposit back, even tho he had done ZERO work on my case. I was in a very desperate situation, and they saw this and took advantage of me. Called yesterday to see how much it would cost for my oldest son, who is 18 to change his last name. First the lawyer asked me, "Why do you want to change his name?" "Because he's gone by my maiden name his entire life & he wants to change it legally to it." The lawyer then asked me, "Is he a dependent?" "Yes." "Then you'll have to get permission from his father." "NO I DO NOT, HE'S 18!" "Yes, you do, even if a person is 18, if he is still a dependent, the court can say he's a minor & you have to get the father's permission." "I refuse to do that, he hasn't seen his biological father in 18 years because he tried to kill him." "That doesn't matter." So then he proceeds to tell me, "It will cost you $500.00 or more for the name change, but we can do it for a starting fee of $2,500." What the hell...what kind of math is that, why would I pay him that much to do something I can do for $500.00? Then he tells me, "But if we run into complications, meaning with the ex husband, then it will cost more. I've read & read & read, my son is 18, he doesn't have to ask any parent if he can change his name, not even me. This lawyer is an idiot! Then to make it worse, he starts to tell me, "You can put half down & we can start working on this right away." "I have to think about it," "Do you have any money to put down so we can start working on this right away?" "I just told you I have to think about it." "Any amount of money you have, you can put down, so we can get started on this right away." OH MY GOSH..now I see he's just after money & I say, "No, I don't have any money, I was just calling you to see how it was, thank you, good bye." He again tries to tell me I can put any amount of money down so he can get started. Again I have to tell him I have no money! Oh my gosh, rude, condescending, doesn't know the law, pushy...you think of every negative word in the dictionary & that man was it! Never will I make the mistake of calling them again. read more
