Now being completely over the idea of having a repair man look at it, I just wanted to get rid of it. Unfortunately this is easier said than done, since the garbage companies will not take them with the rest of your trash. After loading this beast into the back of my husband's Nissan we set out to ELoop to drop it off. Their hours, if I recall correctly, are Monday thru Friday 10 am to 5 pm. When we pulled up there were three men working in the back of the warehouse where you unload your electronics. It was here that I discovered that they no longer accept items for free. My 55" DLP cost me an Ulysses S Grant. That's $50.00 for the rest of you. I wasn't too happy to find this out but in the moment I wasn't about to say nah I'll just take it back home. Pshaw! We unloaded the TV and went around front to pay. There I was told it depended upon the size of your electronic as to what you would pay. From what I recall a 25" or less is $25.00, and a 35" is $35.00, all the way up to $50.00 which I believe is their max charge. They stated they used to accept recycles for free but are no longer able to. There are only a handful of places that do this so I was ok spending the money to get rid of my electronic but I would look to a place that doesn't charge in the future.

Bye Junk - Bed frames, dining chairs, old boxes, Christmas decorations, metal wardrobe...they took it all without issue.

Yesterday, when I had junk that I needed to have hauled away, I filled out a form on Bye Junk's website. Within hours, the owner Tony texted me to ask for photos of my junk. He gave me a price range that I thought was reasonable. I asked him if he had any appointments available over the next couple of days, and he did. The next day (!) at 11 AM, two men called me to tell me that they were on their way. They arrived at my house on time, and they spoke very courteously to me. I had all of my junk in my garage, so they backed their truck up to my garage doors. They spent several minutes moving my junk--shelving units, wooden fence rails, an office chair, a bifold closet door, a few pieces of concrete rebar, a rug, etcetera. Their final price was on the low end of the price range. (Furthermore, it was lower than what a competing, overpriced business charged me a few years ago.) They could accept credit card, cash, Zelle, and Venmo. I inserted my credit card into their reader. They thanked me and wished me a good day. I feel very happy about Bye Junk's excellent service.

There were over 500 boxes of legal documents at my parents' house that had to be shredded by a company certified to handle such confidential records. I called every shredding company in Pittsburgh and Steel City is the only one in the area that will come to a residential setting to do the work on site. They answered my call right away, listened to what I needed and scheduled a service visit right away. In addition, my parents' house is in a rural area that is very difficult to access. They assured me that they could handle the job; and they did, in an excellent manner. Steel City sent two industrial trucks to shred the documents that were in a small barn and a two story garage. The gentlemen they sent were extremely hardworking, thorough, and kind. It was a really cold day and the conditions were crowded and dirty. They worked non stop for hours to handle this task. Because of these amazing gentlemen and Steel City Shredding, I was able to meet the ABA shredding requirement and also meet the court deadline to close out my parents' estate. Steel City Shredding exceeded every expectation and in addition, every person I dealt with at this company was professional, compassionate, thorough, and responsive. I am deeply grateful to Steel City Shredding. They did a very hard job in an amazing way and I recommend them wholeheartedly.
