Allen Edmonds makes quality shoes and clothing. The review is from my experience with this particular store location. Perhaps I do not look like the typical customer, what ever that may mean, however; immediately entering this store with the intention of purchasing their park avenue oxfords, I was approached - not greeted, by a stern older man with glasses. In the 15 minutes that I spent in the store, he did not take his eyes off of me for a second. Which made me uncomfortable. When I asked questions to see if he was just eager to help, he answered back short and matter-of-factly with an intense look. I continued browsing to see if he would let me be, but he continued to stare and began tapping on the table as if he were rushing me out. I have worked retail in the past and I can understand employees attempting to prevent theft, especially if shoplifting occurs frequently. This overt aggressiveness was shameful and unfortunate. read more

I t seems its not just women who like to buy expensive shoes. I am sure men, however, refer to these shoe purchases as "investments" and speak of making a quality purchase etc. I am also sure the dress for success gurus would say you must literally "walk" the talk when it comes to movin' on up in business. I will be honest, I am way to cheap to be a regular here. Another customer asked how much a belt was, and the sales associate replied that it was $118. He said "that's not bad." I wanted to whip him with it. A friend brought me here after seeing the deteriorating condition of my bobos week after week, and decided serious action must be taken before i eventually showed up barefoot. Obviously if you spend $400 on a shoe you are going to take care of them better, maybe even shine them once in a while. So how do you know if a shoe is really worth the money? They did not have my size available in the style I wanted. The sales associate checked and there were no stores that had any in stock, so she offered to HAVE THEM MADE! That my friends, is how you know a shoe is worth the money! So right now, somewhere in Wisconsin, there's a guy making my shoes. In 3-4 weeks they will arrive, made just for me. I wonder if I can write these off on my taxes. read more

Picked up a pair of Strands from this shop... LOVE the look of that shoe. It was my first pair of real shoes... I typically buy disposable shoes from discount shops and wear them out after a season or two. After moving into an executive role, I decided it was time to invest in a solid pair of shoes and take care of them... for me, knowing how expensive these shoes are makes me take better care of them. I expected the higher price but I'm also expecting them to last 5-10 years before needing to be remade. That's right, Allen Edmonds can be remade once you wear them down! They're not the most comfortable shoe initially but I can tell that I'm breaking them in to my foot shape so time will be a factor. Quite frankly, I should have started with Johnston Murphy's and worked up to Allen Edmonds. JM's are solid quality but much less expensive. With AE, you pay a premium, but it's not unjustified. Came here with my boyfriend for his very first pair of Allen Edmonds shoes. The sales lady Jessenia was very nice and patient. She took her time to explain all there was to know about the shoes, what's on sale, and how to take care of them. She took the time to carefully measure my boyfriends feet, but it was a size they didn't carry so she got him to try on the closest fit. We ordered the shoes and will probably be back for another pair in the future. Very satisfied with the service and quality of shoes! read more

Ah Allen Edmonds, something i have seen my grandfather, father, brother, and now in my husbands shoe collection. If you are a dapper gentleman, no doubt you come here to get wingtip shoes (unless you like bespoke shoes strictly). Made in the USA, and one of the few left in the us who do offer handcrafting welting concept. Their shoes age beautifully, made to last for year, while being comfortable (in my opinion due to the cork molding to ones feet). The men in my family HATE to shop so getting them shoes where they can break it in once, and then simply get the bottoms re-crafted is ideal. Service is another reason every man in my family loves allen edmonds. The one on one service is outstanding as they truly do offer detailed fitting. The stores are always quiet and therefore never packed, one can go in and out quickly. This location is another evidence and testament to this well known fact of allen edmonds. Service is wonderful. All in all, this is one of best quality options you can buy OTR besides bespoke shoes. Highly recommend. read more

I just can't even begin to explain my disappointment. I wanted to get my fiance a birthday present. I assumed the salesman would know his size. Wrong. They sold me the incorrect size which is impressive since you keep notes on everyone. Had to return to the store and was told the new shoes we picked out would have to be ordered and it would take an insane 10 days to get them. Who in the world needs 10 days to ship anything?? Low and behold, 2 weeks of waiting later no shoes ... Had to reach out to the store only to be told the order has been cancelled and they didn't know. So now my money was essentially stolen since you took the money but had no intention of giving me the shoes I paid for. What a crazy disappointment and worse you ruined his birthday. read more

Went in store and was greeted, and helped by Soleil. She was very attentive, and actually told me a lot of things about shoes that i didn't know. The store was very clean, and the staff was very clean-cut. Will definitely shop there again. Even if you don't know about Allen Edmonds shoes, go to this store, and ask for Soleil and i guarantee you will not leave empty handed. Bare in mind the shoes are not cheap, in price, nor quality. The service shines just as much as the product. I rarely require dress shoes and it was 3 months before I got the chance to wear my purchase. During that first wear, I realized that there was a minor imperfection on the inside of the shoe that was causing some discomfort. I brought the shoes back to the store and pointed out the problem. After 3 months and being worn once, they still offered to exchange the shoe. Not only that, they offered to let me continue to wear the shoes until my new shoes were shipped to my home.
