I waited six months to get my mother, who has Alzheimer's, into this neurology office. We arrived on time today and were given paperwork to complete. The man at the front desk looked at us when we walked in, I provided my mother's name, and he handed me a clipboard without saying a single word. Not exactly a warm or helpful start. As I went through the paperwork, the first page stated that only two people are allowed to go back to the exam room. I had my father with me as well -- he also has Alzheimer's -- so leaving him alone in the waiting room was not an option. I went back to the desk and explained the situation, expecting some understanding from a neurology office that routinely works with patients who have cognitive impairments. Instead, I was told "sorry, office rules" with no flexibility or attempt to find a solution. Anyone who works with Alzheimer's patients should understand how unsafe it is to leave someone unsupervised, especially in an unfamiliar setting. Since they refused to make an exception, we had no choice but to leave -- after waiting half a year for this appointment. This office showed zero compassion, zero accommodation, and zero awareness of the needs of the very patients they claim to specialize in. I cannot recommend them. read more

Suffered nerve tingling from head to toe for over a year, other neurologist prescribed diazepam which gave temporary relief for the ailment. After consulting with Dr Lipton and having nerve conduction study done my condition cleared up significantly. read more

Annual veterans physical. The Dr. and staff are absolutely top drawer. No hustle and, plenty of conversation. That and a wonderful " comfort dog ". Can go wrong here. read more

I liked him At first visit I thought dr to be caring until I wanted to delay a test that was not urgent as my extensive blood work did not seem to warrant going thru a nerve and muscle test. He himself said he felt I just needed to get stronger. Yet wanted to do additional muscle tests . I asked for a bit of time to work with PT to see if that made a difference before subjecting myself to painful muscle and nerve tests. Then hus attitude shifted He did not go over blood work other than to say it looked fine. Made me come in for an appointment to tell me that. Something that could have been handled by a phone call. His attitude shifted drasticticslly and completely unkind. His assistant was even worse and downright mean as i was checking out she had my application for a temporary parking pass which she refused to give me and pulled it from the clipboard tearing it up and tossing in the trash stating I could just walk further. Totally uncalled for viscious behavior. Keep in mind I was on a walker with stenosis and muscle loss. I had to request one from my primary who did not hesitate to provide it as she knew my difficulty. The staff continually screwed up my billing demanding payment 3times after all my bills were paid in full. Kept sending me invoices that I had already provided proof of payment for multiple times. Took many phone calls and tesending them the piad email receipts for months to rectify. Even though each time I was assured it was corrected. He did not go over my bloodwork that he ordered and only responded when asked all my extensive blood work was good. Then months later i discover he put a diagnosis of Lou gerigs disease in my medical records, even after testing prooved I do not have. I have been unsuccessful at getting any cooperation from him or office staff to rectify the error. read more

Dr. Lifton has been my neurologist for over two decades. He is a thoughtful, pensive doctor, who helped me when I couldn't get help anywhere else. Suffering from Mercury and lead poisoning, neurologist in Sarasota, where I live, told me they couldn't help me "unless I had MS". Dr. Lifton listens well, is thoughtful, pensive and kind. His staff is friendly, and the office is always very busy, which speaks volumes for his outstanding services. I highly recommend Dr. Allen Lifton for anyone needing a neurologist. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Lifton since 2011 I consider him an excellent Doctor the reason I gave a 3 star is because of the actions taken by the new staff that took over. The original staff was excellent and knew how to call in my prescriptions and never had a problem and now they are all gone and have a new staff in there that in my opinion do not listen and I have had more arguments with them. How hard is it to tell a staff member where you want the prescription to go and they did just the opposite which is delaying the time that I need it. I am very disappointed that Doctor Lifton would allow this to happen unless he is unaware of this. read more
