A girl can never have enough boots! I checked out all the boot stores on Congress and Allen's by far had the best price for the value. They also had the boots I wanted!!! Service was so great. They do work on commission so make sure you tell the cashier who was helping you! My husband ended up getting a pair of boots as well! Check mine out!

The store can be a bit overwhelming at first but once you find the aisle with your size it narrows down your options a lot! Pedro helped me out when my foot wouldn't go in a boot (shoutout the plastic bag), and I liked how he wasn't a pushy salesman egging me on to buy a pair, but instead just a guy wanting to help out. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny!!

I don't even know where to start! Great selection of hats, many shaped to your liking, great selection of boots (didn't have my size in a popular Ariat style no biggie). I fell in love with the color of a hat but wasn't vibing with the shape, they made is almost exactly like the other hat I was buying and that was perfect. Matt and the gentleman who helped actually shape my hat were wonderful. Left with a beautiful black Stetson and a gorgeous brown Resistol. I was also able to get a more feminine bolo tie which I appreciate because that doesn't happen often! So many are too masculine for my liking. Overall, I'd suggest folks come here for great hats and boots versus some other spots in the area. Fair prices and close to everything you'd want to do down south.

A must see when In Downtown Austin. An amazing Legendary boot store! They have the biggest selection of boots and cowboy hats ever! They sell: boots, hats, handbags, incredible duffle bags, belts, buckles, jewelry etc. there's something for everyone. The staff are incredible. Dillon assisted us today with our boot purchase . He was so knowledgeable and helpful. This store is a must see when in Austin!

I don't get into AUSTIN very often. I was downtown with a business partner and our day didn't go as planned. We decided to take our business elsewhere and walk through the scenery of S. Congress Ave. We wandered into Allen's Boots as many people do I'm sure. I love the smell of the leather wafting into the street. I couldn't help myself side, dragged my friend in since he was looking for a cowboy hat. And like a couple of kids, we wandered to the aisles and tried it on different hats. We found a couple that looked really good on him as he is just a clown in general. Had a good time! No, had a great time! The prices were not cheap. Be ready to pull out your credit card because I don't ever carry that much cash. There are many different boots I would like to pick from, but I'm not a cowboy. I like the idea of wearing them, so I would have to come back another time so I could meander some more.

My theme boot song is "If You Didn't Buy Your Boots from Allen, Then You Didn't Buy Boots." I had to bring my niece here during our SXSW trip. She wanted a real pair of Western boots, and there's no better place in the world to purchase a good quality pair from Allen. I bought my first pair from Allen fifteen years ago and my second eight years ago. My first was a custom design by yours truly, and Allen made my dream come true. After all these years, it still is my favorite pair of boots, which led to my second pair. But I bought my second pair right from the shelf! My brother loved mine so much that I bought him a pair for his birthday. So, that should let you know my niece was equally pleased with Allen's selection, too. Also, there are more than the best boots here! Allen carries a wide selection of Western hats, belts, and clothing! But if you aren't ready to purchase, the store is equally pleasing to the eye to browse around in and ask questions about the history of Western boots and clothing. It's a huge store with great service and big leather sofas to relax on while deciding what pair or two of boots you want. There's so much to choose from. It's truly worth every dollar in your pocket if you decide to get your first pair of boots from here because Allen's boots last a lifetime, and they look good as they age.

    A must stop in Austin.

You can't come to Austin without checking out this store. You might think you don't want boots but after coming here, you might change your mind. In fact, even if you have no interest in boots at all, you should still visit this shop. It's a hoot. The music playing inside while we shopped was either dance music or disco. I can't remember. Either way, it seemed totally out of place but in a great way. This place is just fun. There are endless rows of boots here. Some are fairly modest in design and many are just out of this world. They really are art pieces. They have shirts and belts and other items, too, but you are here for the boots. Our group didn't buy any boots but the service we received was off the charts terrific. The woman who assisted us answered all of our questions and was very helpful and friendly. Make sure you check out the hats in the adjoining room next to the boots. I looked good in some of them and ridiculous in others. Find out how good you look in a cowboy hat. This is a must visit in Austin. It's located in the South Congress neighborhood, along the main drag.

It was hard to decide but ended up with the ones on the right Bluey brand- cow leather.

Ok so if you don't mind splurging, you will absolutely find what you're looking for here. Cowboy boots are one of the most comfortable shoes there are, the fact this place has boots you can't get anywhere else is a huge plus. I got pair of red flower boots and I am obsessed, high quality and comfortable, price was $500 ish, so on the higher end but worth it. Service was pleasant and not pushy but helpful finding a size and giving care advice.

Allen's boots has such a nice selection of boots. The staff was very accommodating and answered any questions I had. I really enjoyed my experience. The boots were priced between $200-$300 which is typical for good quality. I look forward to coming back when I'm in Austin

My friend and I stayed there for over an hour and we both bought cowboy boots that we did not ever intend to buy.

Good day, Wanted to…read morereach out and share my experience on a release by Sneaker Politics. There was an Air Max 95 Bandana Release on Saturday, during SXSW on 3/14. I got to the store at 9:30am and was greeted by a gentleman (smaller black guy with shades), who gave me the details of how the release was going to work. He granted me a wristband that had #3 on it. Door opened at 11 and majority of people got wristbands and lined up. Everyone lined up according to their numbers on their wristbands. With me being #3, I entered the store and bought the releases. I understand that it's a release, so I do understand one per person. When I walked out there was a Hispanic male outside who worked with the store giving out wristbands. I wanted to get my daughter a pair, so I asked could I get back in line grab another. The line was really long. I grabbed another wristband and was #76. I was told from that Hispanic male that o could get another but I had to go to the back of the line, which is what I did. I waited and waited until my turn. The line grew longer behind me. When I reached the registered, the same gentleman (black guy with braids) who checked me out the first time said I couldn't get about pair until everyone got a pair. He said if I wanted another pair then I needed to get out the store and wait back in line (which is what I did the second time and was #76). I showed him my green #76 wristband and he rudely said i needed to get back in line again to get another pair. I was not trying to argue, so I told him I'd do that but this was wrong. I was disappointed. The black guy in braids stated that he was the manager and there was nothing I could do to get another pair right then and there. I told him the guy with the wristbands said I couldn't get back in line. He said "the guy outside with the wristbands is a part time guy who doesn't matter to the store." He's not the manager, I am the guy to make the decisions." He was very rude! I walked out and got back in line AGAIN! When I got back in line, there were others who had got back in line who were in front of me and waited twice while it was my third time to wait in line for a 2nd pair. The line was long. A few guys had bags in front of me. Just made me feel upset and targeted. The line moved and I was now one guy away from the register. The guy in front of me also had a bag and pair in his hand that he bought earlier. But he didn't wait 3 times like me. When it was my turn, I told the managers in braids, "am I good now because I waited." He laughed and said he was the manager again. He gave me a speech about how he makes the calls and that I got the pair I needed. He said, "you got the pair you needed, right?" Very rude, while laughing, and it felt like he was really making fun of me. He then used profanity and mentioned that he needed to make his living. "You're not going to fucking stop me from making my money, you got your pair didn't you?" I didn't say anything, then I kindly mentioned I'm not going to argue, I just want to make a purchase and leave. He gave me my pair and checked me out. I kindly reached over to shake his hand or give him a dap. He laughed at me and didn't bother shaking my hand, so that's when I left. My experience with Sneaker Politics was very disappointing. All the other employees were great until I reached that gentleman. Very unprofessional, laughed at me, used profanity, and I'm sure he didn't have that conversation like that with other customers. I felt dumb and targeted but thankful I got me and my daughter a pair!

Staff were friendly and the overall ambiance was chill without being dull or overwhelming. Typical retail prices are to be expected, nothing too crazy. That said, I wish they would carry more unisex footwear in smaller sizes. I typically wear 6 women's and 4/4.5 in big kids. I prefer the latter due to better color-way variations. Solid spot to check out and try on the latest footwear.

My first attempt was a failure because I had to go to the bathroom urgently and they don't have one. I rushed to the La Condesa restaurant across the street who were kind enough to let me use theirs. I returned to the store and spent my sweet time picking out options. One of the things that caught me eye ended up being a top, not a skirt. Since I was there solo, and carrying a lot of my own stuff, I asked the fitting room attendant if he could help me if sizes weren't wrong. He did this two separate times and was lovely throughout the whole experience! I decided to go with a different top as the one pictured, and in the wrong size, but I needed that denim crop. I'l probably eventually sell it but the green skirt is going to be one of my new staples for sure The other store attendant who helped me with the shirt/not a skirt debacle ended up being the one at the cash register and gave me a big shopping tote to fit my new clothes, and the personal belongings I couldn't fit inside my North Face backpack.
