Burger was really good! Look at the crisp on that beef
    Josh G.

Really tasty (and well cooked) smash burger! The service was just ok and it took a while to come out considering how quickly smash burgers cook. There was no one in front of me either. The fries were decent, but mostly because they were fresh out of the fryer. They were pretty generic McD-ish fries. That being said, the smash burger was cooked really well, flattened to a very thin patty and left long enough (on a hot enough griddle) to get a good char on it. The meat was spilling out from all edges of the bun too! The onions, cheese, and burger sauce were all really good too and made for a pretty damn tasty burger. I think if I was drinking and hanging out, I wouldn't care about the service as much and would just enjoy that tasty burger!

Honestly, the corndog was not that great because the breading didn't have much flavor and the dog was way too mushy inside without any snappiness or much flavor. The fries are extremely skinny and kind of dry and they don't give you any nice sides.

    two corn dogs and fries
    Robert S.

First the good: We had two "Hand dipped" corn dogs and they were quite good. The fries were excellent...really liked them. In preface, we just returned from the Oregon Coast and Rockaway Beach and had a couple of corn dogs at the Original "Pronto Pup" there...they were great! So, two corn dogs at the Pronto Pup...$4 each, and two corn dogs and fries at Alley Dogz...$20! I think overpriced, even by Bend standards! In summary, the dogs are very good, but overpriced!

The Handmade Giant Pretzel with cheese sauce on the side
    Liz C.

All I have to say is that this is the BEST pretzel I have ever had. It wasn't as big as I was imagining but it was so good. It was freshly made, and came with cheese dipping sauce. Each bite was super soft and fluffy. My husband and I shared it. We wanted more! We definitely recommend the pretzel here. They do have many hot dog options, some vegan. The menu is up and posted outside for you to look at. With the COVID restrictions they do have their windows closed. The employee was very friendly and enthusiastic.

They were out of quite a few items at 6:15 on a Friday. They burned the bottom of their hotdog buns which made it hard to eat.

While I didn't feel like having a vegan corn dog, the shoestring fries are a love language of mine.

Food Cart Pods are not a thing where I'm from, so whenever I see one, it's pretty exciting. First of all, do all Cart Pods have names? I love this one; "The Podski", HA! Ok but beyond that, this place had so many delicious and unique options. We had Italian arancinis twice, a sampler of Pierogis, delicious oyster shooters and shrimp tacos. One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. For about the same price you'd pay for a typical pint, they pour about 20 ounces of happy beverage into a taller than I expected glass. The picnic tables are colorful, there's a covered tent if you're feeling cold, people are friendly... it's just overall a great place to chill, drink, & eat.

The Experience: I visited Toasty while I was on vacation in Bend and loved having so many options at one spot as a vegan. What stood out: Service: The woman taking orders was attentive with answering our questions and making recommendations. Our two crunchwraps took around 25 minutes before our buzzer rang and we went to pick it up. Product/Food: I ordered the buffalo chik'n crunchwrap and my boyfriend ordered the nacho cheeze crunchwrap. As someone who despises eating lettuce, the way the cold and warm ingredients are intentionally layered throughout the crunchwrap is beyond delicious. I ate my crunchwrap within minutes of it being hitting the table. The tortilla was perfectly flaky, the homemade ranch was an amazing texture, and the chick'n was seasoned to perfection. Ambiance: Toasty is a small food trunk in the Podski food truck pod complex. It is incredibly busy and it can be difficult to find a seat. However, it is fun and lively with some great people watching opportunities once you are seated. Toasty will continue to be our favorite spot to eat at in Bend!

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.
