I met Allison some years back, she did some work for me. Now, I am back again, for her to alter and modify my wedding dress. She is so awesome, and friendly, and seems to know what she is talking about. Before I purchased my dress, I went to her to get measured. I was purchasing my dress online, and didn't know if I was measuring myself correctly. She did not charge me for the measurements and if it wasn't for her, I would have bought the wrong size dress. I actually doubted her because I thought the size she told me to get was way bigger than what I thought I was. But, boy, was I wrong. She saved me from making the worse mistake, because the return policy could be tricky. I was so pleased with her service, once again, I will definitely use her for all of my alterations. Do not use! We were quoted $140 for each vest to be fully patched. We had two and then an extra vest to have one patch applied so total was going to be around $300. We called other shops and found out that this was extremely overpriced and called to have her stop so that we could take our business elsewhere. We said we would pay for any work that was done. We were charged $140 for THIS and and then the one patch on the extra vest. Only 7 were patched, all small and the autism ribbon is crooked. Cat hair is all over the vests as well. Extremely disappointed, overcharged and crooked work. Do not recommend, take your business elsewhere. read more

**Beware of extremely high pricing** Would not recommend going to Allison due to extremely high prices for an average to mediocre job. She originally quoted me $70 to take in the waist on two jeans ($35 per jean). I agreed since I had read good reviews about her services. A week later, she told me the jeans were done and it would be $90 due to the "difficult, heavy jean fabric". I agreed because I don't have expertise in sewing. When I got to her shop, I tried on the finished jeans and one pair was still too big. She offered to do another two stitches to take in the waist, which took 3 minutes total. She then told me it would be an extra $10 for her 3 minutes of additional work. It came out to **$100 to take in 2 pairs of jeans **. I could've gotten brand new jeans for this price. Allison is a very nice woman, but be very wary of pricing and make sure she confirms price before starting and that she sticks to the quoted price. read more

I have heard so many bad things about alteration shops in Rome that I dreaded getting this work done, but I saw a good review on Allison's Alterations and gave her a call. She is wonderful! First of all, she is kind and polite. Secondly, she is prompt and responsible, and third, of course -- her work is excellent. Since I was going out of town, she did a rush on the pair of jeans and shirt I brought her to be shortened. She did not charge me extra for doing the work in three days. Although the alteration was simple, she offered helpful suggestions, such as making the jeans slightly longer in the back, which look terrific.
