This is the best nail salon I've come across in NYC. I travel from the upper west side just to go to this one and it is always so worth it. I really really wanted to like this place. I made a phone appointment and came in on time - waited about 15 minutes but that's not abnormal at nail salons because some appointments go over time. They motioned for me to sit at one of the tables and said they'd be with me in a minute. I'm observing like 5 people getting pedicures when one of the ladies stands up from washing a woman's feet and comes right to me to do my nails. I'm usually not too picky and figured maybe the water and the person's feet were clean or something before she came over to me. When her hands touched mine there was some really weird orange grime on her hands and over the course of the manicure more and more rubbed onto my hands. It was a mix of what looked like dirt and a deep orange jello type of substance - kind of like crumbs. Many thoughts went through my head because she went a little hard on the cuticles and with the hygiene I was a bit scared of getting an infection since she nipped one of my cuticle enough to draw a little blood (I accept this as something that will happen every blue moon because some nail techs love removing cuticles and don't realize my skin isn't super thick or something). Now all of this happened but if I came away with amazing durable nails I might even come back because I'm looking for a go-to nail salon. However, my nails started chipping the very next day - and it was an sns dip manicure which means it's supposed to be very durable. So between the interesting hygiene practices, the cuticle nicking, and that my nails looked like chip city in just a few days, I'm hoping this rating is justified. read more

I am lucky I live just 15 mins from this place so it is my go to nail spot! They have raised their prices (totally understandable!) but it is still affordable with a regular manicure at $15 and a regular pedicure at $25. I love that they always give you a little neck/shoulder massage after your appt! It is quick but I look forward to it each time and it really adds to the experience. I have never received that at a nail salon and it is one of the reasons I keep coming back! They also offer a stamp card which is rare for salons. It is always nice to work towards a free manicure! This place is literally around the corner from my house and at some point started takeoff cash only so I haven't gone since 2019. I needed a super quick pedi and walked in and immediately walked out when I noticed a customer was getting a manicure and wasn't wearing a mask. I'm a salon that had no doors or windows open that's not acceptable. It also seems they aren't doing any contract tracing as well or checking vaccine cards which is the only reason I could suspect the customer without a mask would be tolerated. It's a real shame since it's so close to my house but between their lax Covid precautions and the cash only policy it's a shame I won't be coming back. I just feel bad for their techs that management isn't taking precautions to protect their workers. read more

Worst place EVER! I live in the neighborhood and didn't have time to go to my usual place, so decided to try this place out. I had acrylic tips and decided to soak and get a gel manicure, since my nails were super long! Let's start with.....the woman put my fingers in FREEZING cold acetone. First time she came to file, she notice how cold my hands were and did NOT bother to at least put a hotel...until the END! And had the audacity to say "Wow your fingers are freezing" - yes ma'am - they were the whole time!! Oh it gets better...so she started to take my nails off with a METROCARD. Yes, a metrocard! Broke half of my nails, so now there shorty and ugly. I still have acrylic on my nails - its been 4 days. My gel manicure had ugly bumps and peeled the same day! Sooooo happy to have them in the neighborhood! I used to go to the salon that was here for years and then when it changed hands about 18 months ago it became so sad and poorly run (Nira's Nails). The new owners (February 2018) are amazing!!! I met Shristie and the staff and they are a breath of fresh air in the neighborhood. They have completely renovated the salon and it is so bright, cheery and clean and my manicure is perfect! I also got a chair massage while I dried and it was incredible! I needed a manicure before my vacation and they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in. The nail tech was very understanding when I did not want to cut my cuticles or push back some cuticles on fingers that had deep cuts. My only complaint is that when cleaning under my nails (using a wooden stick) the technician did not use a paper towel like other salons do (my other nail salon wraps the tip of the wooden stick with small pieces of bounty paper towels). Don't waste your hard earned money. $62 for pedicure color gel manicure and 10 minute massage. Nail chipped the same day went back 2 days later because all of my nails began to peel/chip off. I went in and the same nail tech began to easily peel the polish off like a banana. I asked her to properly remove them and was told that she would charge me. I asked for a new bottle instead of the same old bottle and was told she would charge me. After back and forth I asked if another nail tech could help me. They made me wait longer and I left hating my nails even more. Wish I could leave no stars. read more

I was skeptical about going In but then a friend told me about the place so I finally went I got sns manicure a pedicure, foot massage, back and neck massage I felt like they was weird for not doing acrylic or having fake nails applied. But my nails turned out excellent the massage was great and my pedicure was on point. I say goodbye to acrylic and happy to have my own nails looking good I go every two weeks sometimes I get the massage sometimes I don't and they have a rewards card where you can earn free manicures.
