Today I went to pick up the dress because I completely forgot about it due to having a lot going on. The dress was fully paid off! The dress alterations should of been done and it should of been ironed. Unfortunately the owner decided to claim I still owed her money! Where does it say I owe her money? I tried explaining and after going in circles I decided to take the dress. Does this receipt say I owe them money or it's PAGADO? HORRIBLE Customer Service! It was my clients 50th Wedding Anniversary event. My clients rented King & Queen chairs, a ghost sweetheart table, 49 over layers for the tables, 500 charges (which still had food left on them from previous use, we ended up having to clean them all the day of the event) and 500 champagne flutes. With that being said, my clients paid for delivery and pick up service. On the day of the event they delivered everything but the King & Queen chairs. The main reason why they rented with Alma, was because they had the King & Queen chairs. When we asked where are the King & Queen chairs, Alma said we cancelled them. After the initial shock of hearing that, I know my clients did not cancel the King & Queen chairs! Alma kept insisting that we did cancel the chairs, after a few minutes of going back and forth on the issue, Alma said I need to leave and make another delivery. Leaving us without the main items that my clients rented, no solution to getting it resolved. Alma had an attitude and said that I need to call the store. As Alma disregarded the stress that she caused by being very dismissive on how this would affect the total look of the decoration and the vibe of the event. I had to literarily follow Alma as she walked away from me, telling me that I have to call the store and pay for the rental of the chairs, delivery and pick up! There was no I'm sorry, no don't worry about it we can work this out! It was all about you have to pay for the chairs, delivery and pick up. Alma tells me the store opens at 11 am and I need to call the store! I called the store at 11 am again, going back and forth about who cancelled the king & Queen chairs with her store staff. Mind you there was only two point of contacts that handled this order on my clients end, so we know for a FACT that they didn't cancel the King & Queen chairs. Alma's only solution was to make my client pay for the chairs, delivery and pick up service ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT! My clients daughter said we don't have time to deal with this ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT! Go ahead and pay for it, just get the chairs here and we will deal with Alma's later. My client went to Alma's two days later to find out who cancelled the order! again more back and forth, Alma and her store staff could not provide proof of who came in and cancel the chairs. The entire time Alma and her staff kept insisting that my clients cancelled the chairs! Than Alma's store staff finally admitted that they cancelled the chairs because they didn't have room in their delivery truck to delivery it! WTF!!!! They intentionally did not deliver the King and Queen chairs because they didn't have room in their delivery truck! SMH....... The entire time they showed no compassion, no remorse and just cold hearted to the entire issue. Still after 5 days later Alma refuses to resolve this issue or even suggest that they would at least refund my clients delivery fee for their ERROR!. . . Very unprofessional and Very disappointed in their lack of NON EXISTING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! read more

I was a last minute bride w/ some last minute shopping to do. I was searching for a bridal headpiece and costume jewelry... low and behold I found exactly what I was looking for here. Although they didn't have a huge selection of headpieces (they had 4), the quality of the ones they had in stock were right up my alley. I ended up buying the Jessica McClintock feathery flower piece for $80. I did think that it was pretty steep considering the store was kinda ghetto, but it was Jessica McClintock... so fine. Also, I had been in the market for one, so I knew how much they were running. I also purchased a costume earring/necklace set for $59, also kinda steep considering the spot, but what are you gonna do? It was 1 week til the wedding, I had to. We are having my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary and we all ordered our bridesmaids dresses. The material of the dress is not worth the cost that we payed. We ordered a total of 5 dresses. And of course, it was my dress that came in the size that I DID NOT ORDER! They had to re-order the correct size, and it was just really frustrating dealing with them. I told them if they do not have my correct size and if they have to altar the dress to fit me, I was not going to pay... They should have told me when I was placing the order if my size was in stock. The worker told me that the manufacturer may have sent the wrong size because they may have been out of my size. How is that my problem? They should have at least called to let me know they did not have my size instead of losing 3 weeks in waiting. If they at least called me, I could have been in search for a dress that would fit me. Like I said, dealing with these ladies was pretty frustrating. Now one month later and a week and half until the wedding....I have my dress and it has to be altered. How daunting to have to deal with the way they run this business? I asked how much does it cost to alter just the bottom. "$18 but since its a rush job it'll be $28," she says. WTH??? First off, they ordered me the WRONG SIZE which was the whole reason for the delay, on top of them NOT CALLING ME. Money is not the problem, but it is the fact that Why should I be financially responsible for something that was their fault in the first place? And honestly, its not just this worker but also the other worker, which tells me this is how they run their business. I read Yelp reviews on them beforehand. But I always like to give companies a chance... and I can HONESTLY say, YELP is the real deal and YELPERS are on point when it came to this business. I saw Alma for quite a few things for my debut (Traditional Filipino 18th Birthday celebration), which was 2 years ago. I ordered the dresses for the ladies of my court, ordered some accessories for my favors, flower arrangements, linens & sashes for the tables & chairs for my venue. She was a bit pushy, but she gave me tons of discount, which was very very helpful because I was throwing a grand party for ~200 people. Every little saving was a big help. The dresses were quite expensive, but since I bought 8 of them, I got 20% off the total. It did take a long time to receive them though, but once they came, we were thrilled! They were gorgeous & the fitting was great. The length of course was just way too long for my girls. I ordered my flowers from here as well, since I didn't need too much & all the other flower shops I called were very pricey & charged extra for delivering it to my venue. The linens & sashes were inexpensive, plus I talked my way into a little discount since I need so many. She delivered all of these to my venue personally with some help & also put all the linens and sashes on my tables and chairs for a minimal charge. All I had to do was remove it at the end of the night & deliver it back to her the next day, which worked out great because I had tons of help. It wasn't my ideal place to go to, but with a limited budget & tons of things to get accomplished, working with Alma did the job. She was actually very nice & helpful. I just did not like calling there or going there when she wasn't there. Her employees didn't know too much & could barely speak English making it very difficult to communicate especially when I had to pay for my bill & she didn't understand that Alma gave me a different quote. read more

Thought I'd update my review with the rest of what happened with this flower girl dress. The dress finally arrived on the 22nd of December. Not only was this 7 weeks after I placed my order, but it also arrived in a size 3 rather than the size 5 that I ordered. Alma's offered to try and make the size 3 fit a size 5 girl, but I didn't want a dress that didn't fit right after waiting for 7 weeks. They called the manufacturer, and got a size 5 shipped to us. It arrived on December 28th, now 8 weeks after I placed my order. I'm giving them an extra star because they did fix the size issue quickly, and the dress was amazing when we finally got it. My 4 year old flower girl said she felt like a princess, and everyone thought she was adorable. She never once complained about the dress being itchy or uncomfortable. That said, I'm still frustrated that it took 8 weeks to get this dress when they quoted me 2-4 weeks. read more

I ordered some linens and when I picked up the tablecloths 1 was different than the other 6 and instead of working with me, the lady suggested I change the color of all of them and then told me I should of asked if all 7 were going to be the same....why would I need to ask that question??? I ordered 7 tablecloths of a certain one SHE showed me. To top it off the runners were wrinkled and I told her they were wrinkled and she said no they are not. Are you blind lady?! I had to iron the runners. The day of my party 1 of the table cloths was super dirty from the middle. We had to improvise and change the setting because it was dirty. When the linens were dropped off and we explained what happened all we were told was...sorry this store does not give money back. It's not about the money, I would even let that slide if the customer service was ok. But the owner and the short lady at the worse customer service and they even provide a terrible service on their inventory!!! Never again would I trust them with my parties! I called the day it was suppose to be ready, the lady said it will be ready the next day. I kept my composure and decided to wait another day. I called the following day and my dress was still not ready. They told me it would be ready the next day by 4PM I called AGAIN!! and she said it would be ready by 4PM. I showed up by 4:45PM and my dress was still not ready. I was very upset at the time and the lady had terrible customer service she had the nerve to say " this is what happens when they bring dresses from other places"..... (and went on on saying other things, with an attitude) I was like excuse me? I am the customer and they kept on changing dates and times. I don't mind if it takes longer but they kept on postponing and changing times. very inconvenient. I will never use them again. We went to Alma's & ordered our tables, linens, table scapes & flowers. She delivered & set up just as promised & it was BEAUTIFUL....We even had some last minute unexpected additions & were extended credit until our following payday. The flowers gorgeous & her plus her staff were extra friendly. This is the first time I've used her services, have always gone to another place on the South side of town, that my girls don't care for. But I was a loyal customer. But No More, Alma's gets all my business from now on. And we throw a lot of large functions thru out the year!!! They are unprofessional, only nice toward a certain race, quality of product are poor, even if when they make a mistake they do not own up to it. Read other comments before heading to this spot. We spend thousands of dollars and the items we order some came clean and other really dirty (table cloth had fresh food stain, gold plates were dirty-fresh food etc.) we informed the manager Alma and she seem not to care. There is also another lady that works there, she is honestly the reason i will not con't business with Alma (known her for a while), this lady is very unprofessional, likes to argue with customers and has zero customer services. again i do not do review but this event we did was for 500 guest and we order almost everything from them. I support small business, and i have been going to Alma for a while now but the same issues keep arising. After a few minutes I decided to approach someone myself as it appeared that they clearly were not planning on helping me. I told her what I was looking for and she pointed to where the first communion dresses were and told me to look for them myself. Thought ok, there is another family in the store, maybe they're busy. After looking at their small selection we found a few dresses she wanted to try on. I tried to look for someone to ask for a fitting room. Very unorganized and never wanted to own up for any of her mistakes and we had to ask for some money back because of the things she had forgot to do. She yelled at me and said her work was done. what kind of service is this? Story 2: My aunt had already compromised to get her table decorations from this horrific lady. When my aunt walked in the room she almost broke down in tears when she saw the ugly centerpieces. When I started looking for someone to decorate my wedding I have to say I was a little upset with this place I felt that they dint want to bothered with me because my wedding was a year away. So I did go looking for other place but nobody had this trees that alma had at her shop. About six months before my wedding I went back and I have to say I'm so happy I did she gave me everything I wanted and some for a great price. Somethings were not exactly where I wanted them to be position but at the end I was a happy customer and everybody loved it. One thing she does need to do is actually go with the couples to the halls prior to the event to Make sure everything is where the customer will want it. I love the dresses in the catalogs and the prices because it reasonable. When I got my dress, I noticed that it was wrinkled and poorly sown. I know that it might not be the Alma's fault but how they altered my dress is unacceptable. 35 bucks on really small alterations like shortening the length and pinning up. I get it a week later; still too long and you can VISIBLY see where they sown in the back. I could have done what they did. I give them three stars because they employees are super nice and extended their hours because we were running late. read more

Horrible customer service. We went to the store in search of a baptism candle because it was recommended by a friend. Got there right at 11 am because that is the time they "open"; however, we waited outside for 20 minutes along with other customers until someone finally unlocked the door. As soon as it opened everyone rushed in and I was asked immediately what I needed but then she walked away. She finally came back a few minutes later and asked again what I needed then brought out a few candles to view and walked away again. She was all over the place and wasn't really focused on anyone which to me equals poor customer service. I didn't like any of the candles she brought out so I ended up walking out of the store. DO NOT BE AFRAID!......... I called the store first and asked if they carried the designer my daughter was looking for Emelda was so sweet and helpful. She told me I could come in at my convenience and I didnt need an appointment. I came to Almas to purchase my daughters quince dress because they are the only vendor to sell in it the east bay. I came with my mother in law and a family friend we were hoping for the best but also we were prepared for the worst since all the reviews were not so positive. We were immediately greeted in english and spanish and happily stayed to shop. Emelda and another woman graciously in english and spanish helped us flip through catalogs to find the dress my daughter was after, I do not speak spanish but Emelda did and the other coworker did not speak english but we made it work and we found what we were looking for. They offered other party services if we needed and all with positive attitudes and smiles with no issues at all. I am not a neat freak and yes to most people the store may not make sense in the way the merchandise is displayed BUT they know where everything is and they are happy to help find what you are looking for! These ladies work very hard to meet the demands of their clients and I really believe a smile can go a long way to establish a successful business relationship. I am so happy we found Almas Creations and I am even happier to say we recommended them whole heartedly and we are so looking forward to picking up my daughters quince dress. read more

I stopped by with a friend today to inquire about runners for a baby shower we are hosting. Although they did have what I was looking for, I will simply not be returning or use them because of the customer service I experienced. As soon as we walked in we were stared at in an uncomfortable way and I approached the table where they were sitting and asked for the items I was looking for and they were being rude and we tried figuring out how to ask our request in Spanish since they assumed we spoke Spanish. After the lady ended up understanding English and spoke it fluently and seemed irritated by our questions. I was looking for sarapes for a baby shower and asked if they contained the color pink (which we were trying to avoid) and she seemed even more annoyed that I asked such a question. I ended up leaving super upset with the service that we received especially that I used to refer customers to their business since I work across the street at a local bakery. My biggest suggestion is to better their customer service, because of that we will not be coming back. read more

Alma was no help at all she is just a pushy lady tryin to convience you to buy whatever which wasnt good at all..... i had heard from 2 other people to not go to her because she is a pushy lady so i was so hard headed that I still went n-e-way... i told her I wasnt happy with the dress at all and all she can tell me was to take it to a 2nd hand store to sell it i couldnt belive this. i had told her do you understand that im getting married and i want to lookpretty not like a damn witch.... this is my day and i swear i want all you soon to be brides to know that this store is not the store your better of going to David's Bridal i swear.... when your shopping for your gown you should be relaxed happy and excited not mad about everything... well that was my story about this damn hell hole.....never again i give her 10- points!!!!!!! read more
