We came in very last minute and the cashier at the counter was super nice & welcoming! As it was the end of the day, he kindly offered us an extra side of rice and didn't wait long for our food. We got two different chicken sauce, the lava and volcano and they're both good. The chicken itself was a bit dried out and rice was your old plane brown rice. The mac salad was good - all the flavors were there!

Aloha Cafe is an independent local eatery that serves what is referred to as Hawaiian BBQ. It's much like a lot of places on the west coast (such as unrelated Aloha Hawaiian BBQ and L&L Hawaiian) and isn't really BBQ, as southerners, Texans and mid-westerners would define it. Still, they serve up good grub in the form of Hawaiian plate lunches. Volcano chicken: very tasty, slightly spicy, not greasy. Well prepared. Potato-macaroni salad: really nice. Pineapple coleslaw: also really nice and not 'pineapply' Aloha has only a small space that fills quickly with the lunch crowd. Turnover is quick, though, and the ordering process is efficient. Fast casual: order at the counter, your food will be brought to you (or they'll call your name for to-go orders). Bus your own table. Parking can be challenging in the cramped strip mall. Recommended.

Just your standard run of the mill teriyaki joint, but worse. They cover it in sauce tho, like absolutely drench it, which is super sweet and syrupy. Mine also had a funny taste to it like soap but I'm not sure why. The rice is just plain and the noodles have no spice or complexity. The people are friendly and it's quick so they get one star, but after a few bites I threw it away.

Never ever thought I'd be writing this. With the streamlined menu changes. I'll no longer be a customer. Been going since you guys opened, no more "fryer" foods or teriyaki beef. Bummed! If you want some food that's now dragged over the grill and sauced, with awesome service go here. RIP my two favorites, chicken kadzu and volcano chicken . Good luck in the future of streamlined.

Manzanita Grill's road flag is the only indication that there's delicious food around the corner. And trust me when I say the food at Manzanita is delicious because it was. Anchored by the Van Henion bar/tap room, Manzanita Grill offers Mexican fusion at reasonable prices. I got a breakfast burrito and my wife got a specialty burrito. We shared a stuff popper appetizer which was a meal on its own. The poppers come with a dipping sauce that was rich and flavorful. The lady helping us was very patient while we were deciding and brought the food to our table. Definitely worth a return trip.

The rice-to-fish ratio is spot on (they don't use a ton of rice on their rolls) so you really taste the flavor of the sushi as opposed to just filling up on rice. My favorite rolls are the Edison and Sunshine rolls, both of which are gluten-free. They have also accommodated a GF salmon poke bowl, which had a delicious sweet sauce and loads of fish. I had a crazy interaction with the two people running the cart who were both incredibly rude. Specifically the lady that was working at the time. I ordered the wrong menu item and when I admitted my mistake and asked to get the other item I meant to order, the lady scoffed in my face and shut the window on me. I even said "you can be nice about it" wich she then YELLED at me that it was "my fault" as I walked away with my food IN FRONT OF OTHER CUSTOMERS. Very sad how people can be so quick to jump to negativity and anger. Maki employees if your reading this, i think you'll find your lives to be much easier if you choose kindness. Let's just start out with the atmosphere.... This place is just covered in craft store plants and Amazon decorations. No character nothing special. Now I could've gotten past that if the drinks were OK. I didn't have super high hopes, but I was very excited to find a Tiki Bar in Bend while I was traveling for work. So I started out with just a classic Mai Tai after looking over the menu and being pretty disappointed that it's just the most basic "tiki" drinks in existence. The Mai Tai was flat out awful, and I mean AWFUL. It tasted like water mixed with lime juice. No alcohol taste in anyway, and not even a drip of Orgeat taste. It is so bad that it upset me, and it's completely clear like water. I did decide to stay cause I needed a break from the long week of work, but I just went straight to rum straight. I could've overlooked this, if there was even any slight conversation at the bar with the bartenders, but they had no interest in talking to the people that were there, three of the people at the bar were employees, and the entire time was just them talking together about how much they don't like rum or even the drinks on the menu. Wild. Past that they were talking about how they store their juices, and that they don't date label them in any way or throw them out after a certain amount of days, they just come in and taste them to see if they've gone bad. Get the f*** out of here.... A quick Google search will show you that most citrus juices start to oxidize within the hour, and orange and pineapple are not far behind... Don't even come here and give it a try, just go somewhere else.... This place should not be in business.

One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal.
