Best corn on the island! 10/10 recommend so delicious. It's a must try! I love the corn in a cup with hot cheetos.

They were nice but I got ripped off. I ordered 3 elotes to go and when I got home I opened the foil to reveal 3 plain corn on the cob

I tried the poi flavor and when I tell you I ate it way too fast... It was gone too quickly and into my tummy. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and just the right amount of sweetness. Such a perfect little treat. They were set up outside Walmart with a tent when I stopped by, which made it such a random but fun find during my errand run. And they take card payments too! It was $2 extra to add the icing, but 100% worth it. No regrets. Honestly, the best $13 I've spent on food in a while. If you ever see a fried mochi stand pop up... don't think twice. Just get it. Maybe two boxes

I have been obsessed with Poi Mochi from this place for over 2 decades. Whenever I come back home…read moreI'm all over this place. I get a whole box for myself and get a box to share. A bit of a background story: 15 year old self: "Dad, we need cleaning stuff so we can do our chores." Dad: "Okay, why didn't you say anything when we were at Longs." 15 year old self: "slipped my mind" Heading out of Walmart. 15 year old self: "Dad, can we please get some poi mochi? Please....Please....Please.... Plleeeaasssseee!!!" My dad looks at me and I could see it. The wheels turning and it clicked that I have been planning my all of sudden must need now to align when Uncle Lani mochi would be there. What should I do to not hear a mouthful? 1. Should I run? 2. Should I say, "no, worries I'll pay." 3. Should I apologize? Somehow I managed to do all three and I still got a mouthful outside of Walmart. I got lectured all the way home. I didn't hear the end of it and had to do my siblings chores. Was it worth it? Yes, I got away with it 3 times...lol. Back when I was a teenager they had a pop up spot in Waipio Walmart. Kamakana Location: Awesome Sauce! - free parking - area to sit - they offer different toppings - workers in the store show the love * usually a winner to bring to a potluck The saddest thing is flying from the mainland going straight to Uncle Lani and your met with the sign "sold out." You know what's even sadder? You try again and boom "sold out!!!!!!" 3rd try I checked their Instagram page and went during opening hour and got my sweet tooth satisfied. I can't get enough of this place!

I spotted from the corner of my left eye a stall at the very end with a customer leaning to her left. I saw the word rice and what looked like bagged rice. Before I proceeded I took a double take and pushed the cart toward them. Hey hubs, Musubis!!! Such delight to find something to fill my almost starting to growl tummy since it was past 9 am. Ooh yay!!! I chose a broke day mout'unagi musubi with edamame and hijiki mixed in plus a piece of unagi- it looked fabulous to me. I didnt think it would fill me so I also grabbed a karikari ume omusibi cuz it looked pretty with pink bits and an ume on the top. Hubs chose a kombu musubi and ate it as soon as we got home.

My favorites are the tuna and cream cheese one with fish egg. They range from $2.50 and up depending on which onigiri you get. It comes with the seaweed but don't forget to grab it by the register. The size of each onigiri is pretty filling and I would say 2 of these would get me disgustingly full, especially with a drink. I hope they can upkeep the quality of the rice, assembly of the overall onigiri and cleanliness of the preparation. I'm excited to try the different onigiris available.

They sold these bad boys in a pack of 12 (no other option - not sure if it's just for the event) and it comes with dipping sauce. Not sure what's in the sauce, pretty sure it's shoyu and possibly sriracha or gochujang (chili paste) it's got a nice little kick. I don't always get to travel to the speciality places for pork hash but these are worth the price. They're meatball sized and super flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend checking them out!

This is neither the consistency of flavor of what you'd find in Chinatown. Juicy with a springy texture wrapped in a thicker, chewy, skin. A local style sauce (soy, vinegar, chili pepper water) accompanies the tasty, porky balls of goodness that brings out even more porky sweetness. Sold by the dozen at What the Truck 2 (third Friday of each month in Waikele). As part of the "manapua man special" from Str'Eats of Aloha (Sand Island Access Road) or fresh, frozen or in party platters direct at a lower price (follow on IG and DM for orders). Extremely friendly service at What the Truck 2. Worth seeking out if you miss the old school, local style porkhash.
