I don't think it's unreasonable to say that I hope to never have to seek out the services of Aloha Paralegal Services and Ms. Elizabeth Short again, but I can say that she took what had been an extraordinarily stressful and painful process and made it easier. After foolishly thinking that two degrees in criminal justice made me capable of handling my own divorce and what seemed like never ending paperwork that ensued, after having a near nervous breakdown when trying to file some documents I realized there was a reason even attorneys have people help them with things. I found Ms. Short and her services on Yelp and was able to book an appointment online for a consultation. Ms. Short texted me to confirm our appointment and provided information regarding parking and how to best locate her office. Ms. Short prepared the necessary documents, explained why mine kept getting kicked back and walked me through the divorce process. While she's unable to provide legal advice she was able to provide me with a sense of calm that things would be done correctly and efficiently and I no longer needed to stress about playing divorce court. Although I know Aloha Paralegal Services offers other services besides divorce I still hope to never require her services again. Elizabeth is a scam. Went for her service which she was supposed to file paperwork and serve papers to my fiancé's ex to get the divorce done. We paid 1700.00 up front to get things going and was supposed to pay the next 1500.00 when finalized. Months later nothing has happened and no attempts of service has been made. At the time we did not know how excessive her charged was for paralegal services up until hearing how much my lawyer Karl Phillips charges to have the whole thing done, but we did care as long as she got it done. Well it's been 6 months and nothing has happened absolutely nothing, not even contacting the other party for servicing of the papers. So now we request the refund like she said she would do if she failed to get it served in which she did. Now she saying she did 75% of the work for 50%of the cost, but folks, what is 75% of nothing? Absolutely nothing, Karl Phillips charges 1200.00 for the whole thing to be guaranteed done please save you the the stress and 75% of the money and go to a real lawyer rather than an overpaid glorified receptionist. Btw she is also afraid to be contacted by my lawyer, small business please learn from this! Do not spend the money made before the job is done. Update! I am the paying person! I actually used Aloha paralegal for my divorce. I thought I could file on my own, but found the paperwork daunting. I live on the Big Island. Aloha said that isn't a problem. We had a few phone calls and discussed my situation and they prepared all documents for filing, having signed by my spouse who longer lived in the state, submitting docs to the courts and securing my divorce without me ever leaving my home! (other than going to a notary once). It only took 3 months and that was due to the courts closing for Covid. Very thorough! Very attentive to your needs. Well established with the courts on all islands in our state! Also, a fee that was so incredibly fare that I was stunned at the work load they prepared for me at the price I paid. Elizabeth was amazing. She was effective, efficient, professional, and so helpful. My ex and I are amicable, so Elizabeth was able to help us get a divorce in a little over 2 months (with a child and having to attend the Kids First class) for $2,000. We had only 2 meetings with her (the initial meeting and final signing) and had to attend the Kids First class and then it was finalized by the courts (that piece took the longest...a little over a month). Elizabeth handled all of the completion of the court documents, filing, and setting up our date for our class.
