***another update june 2026!!!*** ive been back many times, but its been a few weeks since. they now have an automated pos/self-ordering kiosk/area set up! thats really helpful with the long lines here. this place is always busy, and youll see why! 1 bite and youll be hooked! go get yourself a shawarma saj wrap now! *updated january 2026!!!* love this place so much - had to take my mom here!! she enjoyed it too! you know parents tend to be picky when dining out, im so glad she loves the saj here too! thank you alphas! *updated! dec 2025* 5/5 its our 3rd time here now (safe to say theyre my fav spot so far!) got a falafel saj wrap (3/5) & a lamb kebob saj wrap(5/5) on our 2nd visit a few weeks ago..again the wait times here are long as theyre really busy and all food is prepard/made to order so the wait is expected. seating can be hard - as sit down space is limited. however, diners eat quick and go so you dont wait as long for a seat, or , just cross the street and eat in the mall food court. our 3rd visit i got my usual chkn shawarma saj wrap (5/5) and a beef kebab saj wrap (5/5). we always like how crispy and loaded these wraps are (not just filled with rice/salad) theres tasty protein in every bite! check out alphas and see why everyones going here! cheers! *original review nov 2025* 4/5 great food, service was dreadfully slow and tables were dirty or missing chairs. understandable as they were very busy and short staffed. be patient when you come here - tasty food takes time to make, especially when its made to order! my order (chkn wrap) was missing pickles (asked for extras) and garlic sauce (barely any so it was dry). the beef wrap was perfect though - chunks of tasty beef, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and pickled turnip. get it spicy if you like some heat! read more

Got the chicken shawarma platter, which comes with rice or fries, salad and hummus. There is a good amount of chicken and the chicken is not dry and actually comes in large pieces and is not too fatty. Definitely prefer this chicken over a lot of the other shawarma places. The only downside I would say is the price - after tax it comes to around $20. Food is prepared fast and there is a good amount of seating at this location as well. read more

Best shawarma in the city! Fast service and friendly staff! The fries are absolutely killer!

Alpha's Shawarma is a shawarma restaurant with Syrian and Lebanese roots. With 4 locations in the city, this particular location is right on Yonge close to Dundas. The menu has appetizers, wraps, plates, platters as well as sides for you to choose from. You can also customize your wraps and have it Arabic style or have everything included; you are also able to choose the level of spiciness you want as well. I've heard many good things about Alpha's Shawarma and have never tried them until recently. Stepping into Alpha's Shawarma you are greeted by a long counter filled with ingredients as well as their shawarma meats which are on a vertical rotating spit. The cashier is towards the middle of the restaurant where there is quite a bit of seating at the back to enjoy your purchased items. There is also a small display of desserts as well next to the cashier. I opted to get a chicken shawarma saj with all the toppings (garlic sauce, hummus, pickles, turnips, onion & parsley, lettuce, tomato, tahini, and pomegranate molasses). I picked a table while waiting for my wrap to be made which took about less than 5 min. Service was friendly and they called out my order number on the loud speaker where I grabbed my wrap. The staff asked me if I wanted extra garlic sauce which I replied "yes!" where they placed more garlic sauce on my wrap. Sitting down, I took a nice bite out of my chicken shawarma. It was delicious - the chicken was moist and tender and the ingredients worked well together. Next time I do want to try the wrap with only Arabic toppings (garlic sauce, pickles, fries, and pomegranate molasses). However, I enjoyed all the toppings on my shawarma wrap which was also nicely toasted. The portion of the wrap was pretty big and I was full after I finished the whole thing. The garlic sauce was great - it was creamy and full of garlic flavour but not too overpowering. Overall, friendly service and a great place for shawarma near the Yonge-Dundas area. Really close to Yonge-Dundas Square. I came for a workday lunch and when I walked inside noticed a pretty long line and A LOT of dine in customers. Luckily the line was moving quickly and the cashiers were efficiently taking ppl's orders. The place is super popular. And with good reason. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate ($17.99) and got my box in like 5-7 mins after ordering. When I got back to work and opened the box I noticed that this style of shawarma was a lil different than some other shawarmas I've had. The meat was sliced in large, thin sheets as opposed to shredded, like at most places. I took my first bite of chicken and I was in heaven. The meat was soooo soft, so tender, so juicy. I believe they use both thigh and breast meat. Even the breast meat was juicy! They are also very generous with the amount of meat. You get some large pieces with the outer crispy bark which gives each bite a different flavour profile. The rice wasn't dry, the salad was well-seasoned and the garlic sauce packed a powerful punch (just the way I like it). This shawarma really hit all the highs. This is the third Alpha Shawarma (all of them in downtown Toronto) and the newest. It opened on 2025-07-04. The restaurant chain started in 2022, featuring Lebanese and Syrian cuisine. We ordered the Mix Shawarma Plate ($16.99). It was delicious huge! Depending on your appetite, it may be enough for two people. There are generous portions of Beef and Chicken Shawarma, Fries, Salad, and two dips (garlic and hummus). However, there is far more fries than shawarma so maybe one person could finish it if they didn't eat too many fries. The customer service was good. You would place your order at one end of the staff area. They give you a receipt with an order number. There are a few "stations" where they prepare your food. They will call out your order number when it is ready. Then you can bring your order to your table our counter seating. There are self-order kiosks near the front. The restaurant itself is larger than other Shawarma restaurants in Toronto. It has a modern vibe. There is adequate table and counter seating. There are two electrical outlets at the front counter seating. On their grand opening day, they gave out a free shawarma wrap to each customer. I was told the lineup was extremely long and they had approximately 1700 customers! There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. Justt WOWWW! Loved the food, loved the ambience, takes you to another place altogether! It's a self service thingy, but the staff is quite friendly too. I tried the viral crispy chicken shawarma (spicy). Have to say it wasn't spicy at all but more importantly it was crispy and piping hot. Alphas always slices the shawarma off of the spit which makes for a great wrap. The staff was friendly and topped off the shawarma with extra garlic sauce and chicken. i am in town from Miami, FL for a quick work trip and I found myself looking for a quick dinner to bring back to my hotel later at night. I got the chicken shawarma platter and the tabbouleh salad which were REMARKABLE. I am middle eastern myself and have tried so many places in the States, in Miami, no where comes close to Alpha's Shawarma. I still have leftover in my hotel fridge for tomorrow's lunch! i absolutely love this place. everyone was so friendly and warm and the atmosphere was amazing and incredible. You can make it Arabic style, which includes pickles, fries, garlic sauce, and pomegranate sauce. And for the picky peeps like me, you can modify as you'd like. I repeat: soooooo good! Service: I went around lunchtime so the typical wait time was 15-20 minutes. There is a counter to order at and you can either get a table or wait by the counter for you number to be called. Service was fast and really good. Love the saj they use for the shawarma. The fattoush salad def needs a little bit of salt and the dressing was a bit too runny.
