I recently had an appointment at Alpine starting with a great audiologist, Ronda Wilmot. I had had a sudden hearing loss in my ear, and she immediately made me feel comfortable. She contacted a PA there, who was able to clear a very stubborn lump of wax from my ear - with no discomfort! BEWARE of new patient fees, even if you are not a new patient. Dr. Robertson is great, but Alpine billing sucks. If you don't visit within 3 years, you are automatically charged $335 as a new patient. I was just over my 3 year mark, and they won't waive the fee. The worst customer service and general experience I have ever had with a medical institution. Go to any other ENT. They do not answer the phone and have a no-nothing call centers in India do their scheduling for them. You cannot reach a doctor, send a message; everything is impossible. Dr Gast spent all of 7 minutes with me for dizziness. He determined I needed surgery for my nose. I went for a 2nd opinion elsewhere. They are doing tests before stating that I need surgery and looking closely at my ears. So I tried for weeks to cancel the surgery with Alpine that had already been scheduled. I could not get a surgery scheduler to call me back so I could cancel. I left messages with different departments. When someone called me back finally, they immediately sent me to surgery scheduling after I explained what I needed. No one answered so I left another message. Days later after no one last message, I called the main number, it was answered finally. the man was going to transfer me to surgery scheduling, I begged him not to and to let me talk to someone else. He looked me up and said I was already cancelled. This was the verification I needed. It would have been nice to know this weeks ago. My concern has always been that they would say I never cancelled and then proceed to charge me for that. I finally got verification 8 days before the surgery had been scheduled. I had also left my contact info on Alpine's online forms as if to set up a new patient appointment. They called me back very quickly, while I was writing this review. I explained everything to her and she apologized. I've let my PCP and Nuerologist know about this and they say they will never refer their patients to them again. If anyone I ever hear who needs an ENT, I will definitely tell them where not to go! read more

After waiting months for an appointment and more than an hour in the waiting room after my appointment was supposed to start, I was told the doctor was busy and they were cancelling my appointment so as not to waste -his- time. I called and asked how much a checkup would be with an earwax removal. they quoted me 175.00 which i paid at the time of visit. 3 moths later I received a bill for over 300. I called them and was told they made a mistake and that it was not 300 and some dollars it should be closer to the 150$ mark and they would correct it. the following month I received the same bill with no corrections I called again and spoke to accounting they said they did not know why it had not been updated they would get someone to look at it and told me not to pay it till it had been updated. and today I get a text from their collection agency. If you are looking for a specialist who will do a great job, this is the place, however, if you also want communication from the office on follow up care, questions regarding your procedure, or scheduling, this is NOT the place. There is a real communication breakdown somewhere and it is inexcusable. My husband had surgery on a Friday, had a complication, couldn't get a call back from the office whatsoever until I called on after hour line and a helpful doc called me back. Same for scheduling, zero call backs when we are told to wait for someone to call. It's very disappointing. read more

This business quoted me a cash price when I called for an audiology exam of $175. When I arrived for my appointment I again asked the price BEFORE my appointment. Office staff said it was $175 inclusive. I was billed for additional monies. After more than half a dozen phone calls (where you are on hold for extended periods of time), I was told I signed a financial agreement and I had no recourse. I will be submitting this complaint to the attorney general and Consumer Finance Protection Bureau and the Colorado Attorney General and would encourage you to do the same if you have had the same treatment. I expected them to honor their word (which two different sets of office personnel told me the cash price) and they basically said "tough luck." Very unethical and judging by the other reviews is common practice. Very sad this is what the world has come to. read more

I like the people at the Alpine ENT. The business practices of Alpine ENT are the problem. They make it hard to talk to anyone in an actual office. You get a call center to make an appointment, not the actual front desk. They outsourced their billing and the billing department is atrocious. As you can see on previous reviews, this is an ongoing theme, that has NOT been addressed. A patient does not have a way to speak to someone about a complaint about the billing even!! I tried for a hour using different options on telephone menu system, never being able to speak to someone in the actual office, not even office manager about issues. The billing department has put my payment on someone else's account, their statements do not include patient payments, just insurance which is deceptive. They send statements with already paid dates of service and expect you to not notice and repay for same services (borders on fraud especially for seniors that may be easily confused). They said they had my address wrong at the billing department and that is why I didn't receive a bill for 2 months, but when corrected still didn't receive bill in timely manner. I have called 5 times to get balances right and correct wrong information, with promises to correct. I am worried with previous comments about repercussions and being sent to collections, because I will not pay a bill that is wrong and I don't want to depend on them to reimburse me for overpayment. I wanted to leave a complaint on the BBB but they are not accredited!! I don't want to start over at a different practice because I like the people. I had the misfortune of being referred to Dr. Robertson. Worst experience ever! I went to my my appointment at pre-check in time. After waiting 45 minutes AFTER my appointment time, I went to the desk to ask if it would be much longer. The lady laughed and said the Dr. was NEVER on time! When I finally get taken back to the examination room, I carefully state all the problems. Wasn't a very nice lady. The Dr. finally comes in, and in a very rude way asks me why was I there and Why? did my Dr. send me to ENT. (I had a major infection? cyst? major swelling, bacterial discharge, very painful.!) Dr. Robertson looked in my ear CANAL. He then stated there was nothing wrong with my ear. He proceeds to suggest I may have MRSA, but he doesn't take a culture. He gives me a prescription for impetigo and proudly tells me he gave me 3 refills! In closing says I need a dermatologist. I get the referral from my Dr. for a dermatologist. Have 3-4 visits and a biopsy, and I am told I need to be seen by an ENT. The dermatologist referred me back to Alpine. I told him I would not see Robertson again. Referred me to a different Dr in the practice in Greeley. I called Alpine to try and make this appointment. I was told I couldn't make an appointment until Robertson released me as his patient. I told them I didn't consider that clown my Dr. and if I don't get my appointment, there is going to be a problem. Finally got my appointment 3-4 days later. After going back to the dermatologist for help getting my appointment. My ear is now permanently disfigured. I to Dr. Robertson at the beginning of April. It is now into July, and I will be having surgery later this month to try and correct the problems. Dr. Robertson should have stayed in Ohio. Northern Colorado doesn't need him! My last visit was around 2 years ago. I had been exposed to mold at home and was having trouble breathing. I told the doctor I didn't want to take steroids. He never listened to my lungs or checked my sinuses. I went to my rheumatologist later that week. He listened to my lungs and said I had to take steroids before we could check anything else because my breathing was not good. I worry about what would have happened without that second doctor visit. read more

When I had my appointment in February, I asked if I could pay my bill, they said it had not gone through insurance yet and they would contact me if there was anything remaining due after that. I never heard from them. I never got any letters in the mail, I never received any emails, nor did I get a phone call stating I owed any additional money. Fast forward 8 months and I get a call from collections saying I owe $45. I was sent to collections over $45. When I tried to call Alpine ENT, they were combative. They couldn't give me any records of their "attempts" that they claim to have made to reach me. And they could not give me an itemized statement. Don't bother! Had 2 issues I saw Dr. McKnight for. He looked at me perplexed as to what to do with one of them, and didn't offer ONE suggestion at all. Ordered a very expensive test for the other issue, and had a receptionist tell me "There is nothing concerning" and that was it! NO discussion about what was causing the issue or any suggestions. I will never return or use these services at Alpine ENT. They fucked up on sending me the bill to my insurance. I had no notification from them or my insurance company about the bill. The only notification I received was a notification from the debt collection agency. Now I'm in the position where I have to pay the debt collection agency because they fucked up. Even though my insurance would cover the amount that I owe. This bill is from 2022, I have not communicated or used their services since then. Only now I am hearing that I owe them money. They pretty much fucked me. Thus, my general rule, if they send a bill to debt collection, I will never use the service again. Because they didn't do their diligence with communication about this issue and made no effort to resolve it before sending it to debt collections. read more

I've been waiting for over a year due to covid to be seen by ENT doctor only to be dismissed as if my concerns are basic heart burn which if it were my family doc would have told me to take an over the counter heartburn medication. Dr. Mcknight is arrogant and very unhelpful- he suggested some treatments and then expected me to decide as if I went to medical sch. If I was going to pick my own course of action why did I go see you?! waste of my time and I'm sure when I get the bill for this BS appt ill be even more annoyed at the fact he did nothing! They canceled the appointment 3 days before and offered only an appointment with a PA. Then they REFUSED TO RESCHEDULE with the original physician. I'm very disappointed with their lack of commitment to patient care. I have been sick for weeks, but waited for this appointment because of the physician. DO NOT go here unless you have time to fight them about billing. My son had surgery with them in January 2023. We were required to pay ahead of time for the service and they told me that the estimated portion was $843. However, when I received our explanation of benefits from our insurance a few weeks later, it stated we only owed $414. And in the meantime, they also charged a $30 copay for his follow up visit that wasn't supposed to be charged. I called weekly for months trying to get back my $450 and got lied to over and over. I was told that a code had been denied (which wasn't because the e.o.b had been processed fine), that the 'check was cut, but waiting signature,' that there were pending charges that they were holding it for (which again was a lie because the only other appointment was his f/u that wasn't even supposed to be a charge).... It was excuses all over the place. I finally got the money about a week or so ago, a whole YEAR later, after finally threatening to take them to court. During intake I asked for the bill, was told "there isn't one". I pushed, asking if there was a copay/coinsurance and what the charges would be. I was assured there wasn't any. I figured I must have been fully at my deductible and let it be. I saw the Dr. and he told me the surgery coordinator would call in a couple days. After calling in every few days I finally heard back 3 weeks later. Schedule wasn't even close to what the receptionist said was possible before setting the appointment. A couple days later I get a bill for $1,081. $554.89 out of pocket. $497 for patient intake. It was 10 minutes of paperwork. $584 for a nasal endoscopy. 15 minute visit where the Dr. looked up my nose to confirm what existing records already said. I had the same intake and procedure at UCHealth ENT in the area. $222 total for the intake and a 30 minute consult. Yes, I know that's an insurance thing. But Alpine refused to adjust the bill despite failing to meet basic expectations throughout. read more

Was referred after an ER visit for a sinus infection. Saw Dr. Gupta who was very personable and I left hopeful that I would finally have some answers to my chronic sinusitis and voice issues. Dr. recommended surgery and I waited for 3 weeks for a call to even get on the schedule and then learned the day before surgery that everything needed to be paid upfront. I paid for the surgeon fees and then when I was contacted by the facility requesting their payment in full prior to the service, I felt strongly that I needed to postpone a month to better prepare financially. I was told they would contact the billing office to get a refund for the payment and that they would call me to reschedule the surgery after speaking with the Dr. 3 days later, I called to talk to billing to see about the refund and they had no record of the request and told me they'd have to cut me a check now. A week later I was told that the refund department won't refund the charge because I have outstanding claims so need to allow 2 weeks for those to process and 2 more weeks for them to cut the check. I have never received a bill from this facility and they have demanded payment at the next appointment for any outstanding bills prior to any service. I never got a call back regarding surgery and was having doubts about this facility when I learned that my father's health is failing and I will need to be available to care for him. I requested a referral and my records be transferred to another provider where my father lives and called after a week to check the status and they had not done anything with the referral request or my records. I told them the new provider won't schedule the appointment until they have the referral and my records. I have paid over $1,800 for a service I didn't receive and am not certain I will get any of it back at this point. This has been a very frustrating process and I am saddened because I had such hope with Dr. Gupta. read more

This business has absolutely zero concept of customer service or taking care of patients, in my experience. I went to see them last winter for a hearing test due to tinnitus. When I got there, after waiting, the Dr. comes in to tell me they are short-staff and can't do a hearing test, I'll need to come back. He hands me a brochure and tells me two sentences about tinnitus that anyone can read on WebMD. What a joke and scam. They could have called to tell me not to bother coming in, but then I guess they wouldn't be able to charge insurance for doing NOTHING. They are still hounding me to pay them for these "services rendered." I've filed a BBB complaint. Go see anyone else other than this outfit. read more

My Kaiser Permanente doctor referred me to Alpine Ear, Nose & Throat for problems breathing at night. As I filled liability and privacy forms I asked the price of my short office visit--they did not give me an answer. My 20 minute visit resulted in a) recommendation to rinse and use nasal spray and b) a $500.00 bill for not one but two office visits (yes, in those 20 minutes). Months and letters (to Kaiser and Alpine) later, I was told the price was what it was and I needed to begin paying. I have two payments left but I will never return to or recommend Alpine Ear, Nose & Throat (Fort Collins). read more

I had my first appointment for a hearing test in October and purchased my hearing aids. I picked up my hearing aids in November and was told I had 45 days to evaluate them and I could return them if I decided I didn't like them. I had a followup appointment two weeks later and had a couple of questions. I then was scheduled for my next followup on December 23 at 8 AM. I showed up and the office was closed for the holiday - NO PHONE CALL ABOUT CANCELING MY APPOINTMENT. Also another lady was there for her appointment and she also wasn't notified. It was my last day I could return the aids if I didn't want them. I have left two messages one the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and another on Monday, December 28. I am still waiting for the return calls when they say they will return the call within 24 hours. Needless to say I won't be going back to Alpine ENT for hearing and I would highly recommend that you locate another facility. read more

Had over 4 appointments and was never actually seen by an MD. Tried to explain that I needed a CT scan only to be given more and more anti-biotics. Don't go here or ANY ALPINE ENT at any location!!! I had the "pleasure" to see the Ft Collins and Greeley offices and both are lacking in patient care and overall service. They act like you are not the reason they get a paycheck and as though you are interrupting them when trying to check-in, pay a bill, etc. Also you can not pay any bill online, you MUST call....???? Should've have taken time to read the other terrible reviews as I'm not the only one dissatisfied with the "service" I received. I will never be back and will continue to spread the word.
