If you're staying at a hotel in Garmisch, you should get a tourist card that grants you one free entry into the wave pool. While it's only a € 4,50 savings, it's still a nice activity to finish out a busy day of hiking and/or skiing.
There's a dive pool, two water slides, a small heated pool and of course the wave pool, which fires off 10 minutes of waves every hour. I'm not going to lie, there's a lot of kids here. And yes, it does get annoying. But, it's free.
Oh, and if you're interested in the sauna, it's an additional € 8,30 per person and is strictly in the nude. Pay before entering to get a wristband. I opted to not do it, seeing as a whole cadre of old-timers went in during the preceding half-hour, and I wasn't about to sit around that many naked old dudes. read more
