I recently used the legal services of the Law Office of Elizabeth Lockett, PLLC, and my experience…read morewas quite disappointing, primarily due to a severe lack of communication. In March I hired Ms. Lockett to create a basic will with accompanying documents, and I agreed to and paid the flat rate fee that she charged for her services. In the beginning she was very responsive, but as we went further along in the process, communication on her end became a major issue. Despite numerous attempts to reach out, I often found myself waiting weeks to receive responses to my emails and calls. This lack of timely communication caused significant delays and added unnecessary stress to a process that should've been straightforward. We started working on my will in March, and I did not receive my final documents till the end of September, which is unacceptable given the fact that my will is pretty straightforward. We were at the tail end of my process, and I simply wanted to review the final documents that she promised me over a month ago. Despite several phone calls and emails, I finally received a prompt response when I informed her that I would no longer be needing her services since I hadn't heard from her in over a month. In her response she attached my final documents and mentioned that I received a text from her automated system to my missed calls to book an appointment. Why would I need to book an appointment to chat to receive final documents that she promised me over a month ago? Her immediate response to my email terminating services confirmed that she was indeed ignoring my calls and emails, and that although I had paid her in full months ago, I was put on the back burner. Overall, I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism and communication provided by The Law Office of Elizabeth Lockett, PLLC.

We found Ms. Lockett via our Deloitte Met Life Legal Plan (meaning, she was listed as a…read moreparticipating vendor in several practice areas). We scheduled a 20 min consultation call that ran to an hour, delayed due to her technical issues (taking a consultation call from her car, which lead to bad internet connectivity). She indicated she would accept our case as she accepted 5 tax protest cases per year, and we would be number 4. We sent an email expressing our interest in retaining her, and 6 emails and 1 month later, we have not heard anything. A simple "no" would have sufficed so we could move on, given the timeliness of this matter. She not only wasted our time, but also indicates her lack of integrity for agreeing to participate in a program and not following through. As an attorney myself, that is simply unprofessional and I feel obligated to leave my first ever negative review (and frankly, probably my 3rd review overall). In the law, communication, accountability, reliability and ethical practice matter.

I highly recommend Paul Romano. He is extremely efficient, professional, helpful, kind and fair. He…read morewas up front about the cost. He and his assistant Rachel responded to our questions immediately. Everything was expedited in an excellent timely manner and explained clearly. His legal fees were reasonable especially for the amount of work they did on our group's case. Our lawsuit was approved and we were very happy with how his office handled the case. I was referred to Paul by my friend who also used Paul in a different case. My friend was also very pleased with the outcome of his case. If I had another issue, I would definitely contact him again.

I stupidly gave this firm a positive review before but every single time I think about the overall…read moresituation of every single part of it I have to correct my previous review! This firm absolutely SUCKS and they(Kenneth Sumner in particular) wasted my time and the person's time who I'm trying to help! Going on 3 years ago I spoke with Mr Sumner over the phone and he sounded like a nice guy. I even told him about my bad previous experiences with other attorneys(he used the term that I was "snake bitten" by previous attorneys who I had spoken with and he assured me in certain ways that I wouldn't have this issue win him and his firm). So, I(we) hired him(it was a Will Contest matter and it was on a contingency basis). The first sorry thing this GREEDY firm did was to not even let the personal home of the person who I am helping out not be not included in Will Contest(there was plenty of money to be made with the home having to be included, so he/they are just the typical run of the mill attorney GREEDY attorney firm). But, I(we) were running out of time so we went with them out of concern over a crunched time frame. I personally wasted HOURS of my time providing them with pertinent information about the case, talking by phone over and over and over with different associates of his. I remember they had a major turnover with their employees who would come and go(looking back for whatever reason they didn't keep their employees around for very long, at least the ones who worked on our case). And then we didn't hear anything for a long long long time from them???!!! And this was a breaking point for us so I messaged Mr Sumner about my frustration about the case, the non response on their end and finally he tells me that the Will could no longer be contested???!!! WOW!!! JUST WOW!!! What kind of firm takes a case and then for whatever the reason lets it get to a point where MAYBE time ran out to contest the case???!!! I'm still confused about what happened here, because one would think that any firm who handles Wills and Trusts would know what they were doing whenever taking the case in the first place, what all to check out???!!! So of course this was upsetting news! But because Mr Sumner emailed and left a few voicemails saying that there was another angle to try and get things handled, we decided to give him/them another opportunity to handle it. Mr Sumner commented on how he knew that opposing counsel was kind of crooked and unethical and he seemed like he wasn't afraid to go up against the SORRY UNETHICAL counsel but yet time drug on and on and we were passed the point of being civil to the opposing counsel(I remember whenever hiring them I had to sign an agreement obviously and in the agreement was a notation about being civil and I guess kind to opposing counsel's BUT the point got to where the gloves needed to come off but to be honest Mr Sumner didn't have the STONES to fight back, push back what opposing counsel was throwing at us, and this is a huge part of why I am writing this more accurate review right here)! Long story short I'm helping out my nephew who's incarcerated and for a minute he(my nephew) derailed on his/our end so there was a minor setback on our end(this will be Mr Sumner's BIG follow up to this review I'm sure BUT it still doesn't excuse all of the CRAP that I/we went through until getting to this point and I HATE whenever someone has double standards, I HATE whenever someone does not treat/respect someone the way that they would want to be treated and respected! Jesus Christ who DROPS THE BALL on letting a Will Contest get to LATE to be able to be contested???!!! And as I'm now having to start all over again to try and to find a trustworthy attorney to represent us it's more than fresh on my mind what they(HE) did to me/us! Hey Kenneth Sumner, I know what your follow up is going to be(that a little bit of your time was wasted and that you had a trust issue with my nephew but what he did was not any worse than what you did, in fact in reality it's a lot more worse in my eyes)!
