Food: 5 Value: 5 (arguably a 6/5)…read moreService: 5 Ambiance: 3.5 The single greatest Italian cuisine meal I've eaten to date. We found this restaurant through Google Reviews and generally had high hopes, but were blown away by the experience. We ordered salads to share, drinks, and pasta before a tiramisu - I went for a seafood pasta (see pictures) and negroni. We definitely could have avoided getting the two salads; portions were massive and we ended up not finishing either salad. My main course was delicious. The pasta had a zesty, fresh flavor between the lemon, olive oil, parsley and tomato, but the welcome surprise was seeing mounds of mussels, clams and shrimp inside the dish (I'm from New York and expected maybe 10 total) that took me almost 5 minutes to deshell before I went to town on it. Cocktails were excellent - hard to see from the photos but huge and delicious. Resulted in a great midday buzz. Limoncello spritz was also good but perhaps too strong for a lunchtime drink. Other courses ordered: - Lamb ravioli - Had 1-2 bites and tasted good, but probably a 3.5-4. Not really up to my palate and compared to my own entree, hard to beat :) - Carbonara - Solid. Incredibly rich and this was an entree where the large portions actually hurt more than helped - Salads - Hard to tell bc I was full of pasta Minor ding if anything is the ambiance. It's a block or so away from the crazy shore of Como but still was getting a bit loud by the time we left. Not a real complaint and didn't affect our experience, but if you're looking for a more quiet and relaxed experience you might want to go to a less touristy area. Thank you for a lovely meal!

Horrible service and food. Served us rotten food and didn't not exchange our food. Do not recommend.read more

We had the most delicious oysters from the Po river delta, raw and cooked red shrimp from Sicily, swordfish tartare with pistachios, and amberjack tartare with bottarga dishes. Staff was very helpful in telling us about the different seafood, its origins and what is local to Italy. They also offer truffle dishes when in season. A true gem!

I might just be the odd one out... I don't get the hype about this place... it was highly…read morerecommended by a friend, The Fork and even our concierge... so we made a ressie and came for lunch. It was very quiet for lunch... guessing ppl come for dinner. But their AM service for takeaway is very popular. It reminds me of those deli that had pre-made specials. Cozy space, a few tables... surrounded by bottles and bottles of wine. They don't open until 12:30 for lunch... The Fork gave us a 12pm seating... so we just hung out at the Mercado next door and then chilled outside. We ordered the highly recommended "red shrimp", this is nasty... I don't like the consistency at all... it doesn't taste fresh... it's mushy.. and it almost didn't make it into my belly... (gag..); we got the Irish oysters... it says "sweet"... if by sweet means loaded with sea water then ok. Salty AF. I enjoyed the anchovies over butter toasts.. that was delicious. We split a pasta with red shrimp (ordered it bc my friends wanted to try), I wanted the lobster. I didn't enjoy this pasta at all. We split the amberjack... which was oven baked with very heavy wine sauce... and mushy mushrooms and potatoes. I liked the fish... it was nice, flakey and flavorful. So, the only reason why this is not a 2 stars experience is bc of the anchovies toasts and the fish. For a €160... we deserved better food. I wouldn't go out of my way for this spot. Ciao!

The pasta alla Genovese was aromatic and tasted superb! We also ordered fish of the day ( Fresh Baked seabass with potatoes , olives and pinioli) it was full of flavors, served on its own broth! This is my kind of place to go to, where the locals eat , and everything gets prepared after you order. And the big plus is we got the best server Diana!

Their food is typical Ligurian style with local classics and lots of options for pasta, fish and meat. I wanted good seafood so, I ordered the local fish stewed in a tomato gravy with olives. This is a huge dish and takes about 30 mins to prepare and, enough for two people to share :-)) at €17 for this main, it's the best fish I have had in a long time. It's a dish made with mussels, prawns, scampi, sardines, cod and couple of other local fish I don't know the names of. Caution : if you don't like bones then don't order this dish ;-)) I even ate the prawns in their shell as it was a thin edible shell. Many people don't like this but, this type of prawn should be eaten whole without peeling :-))) For dessert I had a fabulous milk based cake with a strawberry jus. All in all a fabulous meal and the place was packed outside with no tables free for the evening. Prices are very reasonable and I would have paid almost twice that for the same food in France or Germany :-) If you want good local Genoa cooking with some decent local wines then check this place out. For service and friendliness it gets 5 stars :-))
