My husband said his grilled flounder was so bland. Service was very, very slow considering the place was almost empty. We sat down around 9:45 pm and meal ended at close to midnight due to how long it took for food to come between courses. We ordered water at the beginning of the meal and never got it. Also had to remind the server to give us utensils whenever they served the next course. We drove in the bus almost 30 minutes just to come here because of "good reviews" on yelp and we were very disappointed.

The only thing is I arrived at almost 11pm thinking they closed at one and was rushed to finished for them to close. They should update the hours to 12 or nicely mention that. That's the only reason it's not a 5-star. Molto Bene!

It started with a couple of bags of chips (crisps) tossed on the table. Then quickly the huge pan of mussels came out with an equally huge tray of mixed grilled fish. Rolls made it to the table and not long after my plate of pasta. Pizza for the kids and everyone was happy. Maybe the staging is the only not terrific part but it all comes so fast it is no problem. The waiter will drop the metal tray on the floor from time to time when it quiets down. Inexpensive, tasty, with generous portions. Just the sort of place for a family after a day at the beach.

La Casina del Bosco serves delicious piadines which to North Americans is essentially a freshly made tortilla bread with different toppings. I made the right choice of venue. What an absolutely gorgeous outdoor cafe with charming, efficient and totally on the ball staff and the fastest service I've had since arriving in Italy. I even had a few language lessons with the waitstaff who humoured me as I practiced my very beginner Italian on them. The first thing that caught my eye and consequently ordered was piadina alla porchetta. A spectacular choice. The piadina itself was light, slightly toasty, with a nice hint of olive oil but the main attraction was the pig. Delicious, sumptuous, well seasoned porchetta made this dish a massive hit for me. And for just €5 I was suitably impressed. I happily spent a solitary hour here soaking up the atmosphere, sipping on coffee and reflecting on my delicious meal. Thumbs up from me. Next time I'll be trying their gelato desserts too. They looked delicious!
