I found this restaurant on Resi and decided to go here to use my American Express credit for the month. It is a beautifully decorated restaurant. Let's start there: it's good-looking on the outside, and when you come in, it's just very nicely decorated, so definitely great job. Everyone is super welcoming when you come in. They're happy to see you, which I definitely enjoyed. When I sat down to order, there were so many things on the menu that I was like, "Yeah, I need to try this," so I ended up ordering a lot of food, but it's okay, you can judge me. I got: - The shrimp appetizer: it was like this grilled shrimp in this amazing sauce with this crispy bread. Oh no, it was so good, so well-flavored, and perfectly cooked. Definitely would go back for that. - The guacamole, which was good. It came with the big tortilla chips instead of little cut tortilla chips, and that was delicious. - The eggplant. Now, I was not prepared for this eggplant to taste like this, but it was really good. The sauce, I don't know what kind of sauce that was, but it was amazing. It was just an unexpected, delightful kind of dish. - The salad, the Little Gem Salad. That one was my least favorite part of the meal. It was just kind of uneventful, and I think I would have preferred the chickpeas to not be crispy. I feel like he was missing something, like he needed some avocado, and the dressing wasn't blended super well, so it didn't really mix really well. I love the ambiance, the decor, the flamingo dancer. It was all a nice experience. However, none of the food hit the spot. My main dish had a stale texture, and was just overall not very good. Came here recently on a date and had a good time. The restaurant was basically empty around 6 when we sat down, but started to fill in a little more by the time we were leaving (7:30). Nice upscale ambiance inside and they also have outdoor seating. The bartenders were very nice and checked on us just the right amount. Food was good. Loved the beef empanadas!! Yuca croquettes were perfectly cooked, brussel sprouts were alright, chicken tacos were fine. Their frozen sangria margaritas are amazingggg and strong. Came for happy hour with a friend. We arrived 20 minutes before the ended and the host and server made sure we were able to put our order in. Between the two of us we ordered a frozen margarita, white sangria, beef empanadas, oysters, and chicken taco. All of our food was good and tasted very fresh. My server Jesus was amazing he went over all the ingredients in all the dishes I was interested in as this was my first time here. Also parking is validated Drinks I tried : Mad hatters elixir- has a little spice from the Serrano but it's balanced out by the sweet from the lychee. Cheshire Tea Time- good flavor from the coconut tequila, didn't taste any of the blueberry syrup that was listed on the ingredients. Food; Gambia's Al ajillo- garlic brandy sauce tasted great. Little spice from piquin peppers. Grilled bread was a little too chared for me. But this was by far my favorite dish. Crispy pork belly- the sweet from the honey glazed pair well with the spice from the poblano aioli. Pork was a little tough Esquites- could tell it was corn actually off the Cobb. Dinner before a show at the Fox. The walk from the Fox was reasonable but definitely a small hike. About .5 miles. Reservations for 5 so the dining room was pretty empty when we came in. It started filling up over the course of the hour. Service was stellar. Cool upscale Latin vibe inside. We did a combo of tapas and entree. For tapas we had the toro guacamole, patatas bravas with harissa, black beans and calimari. All were super tasty and came out quick and hot. The entrees took quite some time to come out, a little too long. But I had the pollo al horno. The chick was delicious! The pickled vegetables were awesome and a nice acid break from the chicken and rice. Super good entree. Wife had the el toro vegetariano which she loved. Over than the entree taking. My gf & I came here for their cute Valentine's Day pop up. Parking is validated & there's information on their website on how to find it. Their pork belly was delectable, guac well seasoned, & I wanted to try their Yucca fries but they were out. I had the Still Got the Blues (for You) & Love from Grenada, which tasted like Robitussin on ice lol but my friend's drink was really good! I'm not really a smokey drink person, but I wish I would've gone with that one instead. They also had a delicious coconut tres leches cake with a guava sauce on the side - YUM. The decor was cute & festive. The fire show was a nice touch. My only qualm & reason why I knocked a star off is because they sat us in the corner by the door & it was COLD. I wanted to move, but my gf said it was fine. Later on, she confessed that she was freezing. Our server was really nice & helpful though, so I feel like it wouldn't have been an issue if we asked to move. Came here while working in midtown Atlanta for a pop up event. This is located across the street from the Midtown Marta station.- pics of lobby I ordered an order of the mussels verde without pork. I didn't know what to expect with the green sauce it came in. But it was so flavorful and filling. Good size portion where i shared with my friend. It came with bread slices and we asked for a lemon. First let me say our waitress Juliana was FANTASTIC. She was double sat with a very large party of 8, another party with 5 and a rambunctious kiddo (cute as pie), as well as my party of 3. That is just upon arrival the area filled up throughout our time there. She did exceptionally well. We know she was stressing- she gets a gold . Ok. Now onto what you came here for. I came for the $1 oysters 3-7. But missed it by a couple minutes. I still got the oysters however they were $3/oysters. Still tasted great. I also had a gin and tonic which was delightful. Very smooth. Really nice aesthetic on the inside. Will be going back. read more

2.5 stars to be precise. I went there again this year with my friends. We ordered four tapas and the half chicken entree. They were just ordinary. The ceviche was the best. I like the sweet potato chips whose sweetness paired well with the sour fish. The Brussels sprouts and albondigas (meatballs) were OK. The soy maple glaze of the pork rib tasted nothing but bitter, I believe that it was burnt. The chicken was Okay--just like what you get in most restaurants--but the pickled veggie on the side had a piece of stainless steel scrubber! So we were disappointed. Service was disappointing as well. When I asked about the bitterness of the ribs, our server just smiled and said nothing. What does that mean? We ordered empanadas, ceviches, chorizo & sausage plates, street corns and a spicy shrimp dish with sourdough, and a side grilled chicken for the baby. I had a good time at my brunch experience here! The food was pretty much as you'd expect in a Spanish tapas style restaurant. They do refill the crunchy tortilla rounds for dips which was a plus since salsa is not complimentary. Our favorite was definitely the chicken empanadas. I got the white sangria which was delicious! My friends did bottomless mimosas, and since overall service was pretty slow this was not the greatest experience constantly needing to flag someone down for a refill. Always been a fan of their pop ups and the food. I have loved their vegetarian food options being a vegetarian like yuca croquettes, esquites and fried egg plant and Brussels sprouts. Their fried egg plant was my top favorite served with lemon honey sauce, that's so good. For the entrees I like their El toro Vegetariano - it has tofu curry, rice, beans and avacado served with sourdough bread. It's like a whole meal in itself. Stopped by Alta Toro for the first time and had a mixed experience. The drinks were definitely the highlight -- I tried the Amor Latino and Lavender Lychee Margarita, both of which were outstanding. Flavorful, well-balanced, and beautifully presented -- a solid 10/10 on the cocktail front. Sampled a few tapas: the crawfish cheese dip, esquites, and empanadas. Unfortunately, these were underwhelming overall. Flavors felt a bit flat and didn't quite live up to the vibe or expectations. I'd give the tapas a 5/10. For the main, I had the Salmon a la Plancha, which was nicely seasoned and cooked just right. It was fresh, flavorful, and definitely the best dish food-wise. Overall it's a great atmosphere and phenomenal cocktails, but the small plates could use some refinement. Worth a visit for drinks and maybe a main, but the tapas might not be the star here. read more

With one stop this has become one of my favorite Atlanta eats of all time! We went during happy hour and enjoyed the $5 sangrias (go with the white, trust me). Our waitress, Amalia was incredible beyond words. She was so helpful with my gluten allergy and triple checked with the chef that every item I ordered had no cross contamination. She even made it possible for me to substitute the sweet potato chips (shared fryer) with baked corn tortillas! The atmosphere was lovely yet sophisticated. I came here on a Friday to grab lunch with my friend since it was the only restaurant in the area that grabbed our attention! I loved the decor outside and how it was decorated for Halloween on the inside as well. We got seated quickly and our waiter walked us through all the options. To start off, we got the guac which tasted super fresh and loved the chips it came with. We also got patatas Bravas which were delicious! They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and paired really well with the sauce. I went with a taco plate and got the fish taco and 2 veggie tacos. The fish taco was very fresh and loved the sauce and veggies on it. The veggie tacos were also delicious and would definitely get again. If you are looking for an incredible spot for brunch or dinner, this is the place. We went to check out the holiday pop-up, and it was such a fun time. It was completely decked out in holiday decorations with some festive holiday drinks. We went for brunch, and they offer a nice-sized brunch menu that includes some specialty items, as well as many selections from their regular menu. I love the menu; it offers a wide range of excellent options for everyone, including a variety of vegetarian choices. I tried the chicken and churro waffles, and they were amazing! They tasted exactly like huge churros. We also tried some chips and guac, a perfect starter, and the mussels, which we loved, especially the sauce they were in. I was very pleasantly surprised by the salmon tartare flautas; the salmon was definitely of nice quality, and the crispness of the tortillas went so well with it. Everything also had such a good flavor. The cocktails and mocktails they had were great; they have a ton of options. I loved the persefone mocktail, and it was amazing. It was so creamy, and the flavors were so good. The service was a little slow, and they were out of a couple of items, but it didn't significantly impact our visit. read more

We were seated in the indoor patio space. The decor here is AMAZING! If you just want drinks and photos, this your place and the food is good too. I ordered the AMOR LATINO-corazon teguila, coconut liqueur, lime coconut water, pineapple, passionfruit $13. I also ordered the beef empanadas$11, and my bookclub sis got the chicken empanadas and we swapped one. Beef was so much better than the chicken! Lots of flavor. We also ordered the HERB CRUSTED LAMB CHOPS-* sunchoke mousse, crispy quinoa, roasted corn, oranges, frisee lemon vinaigrette, rosemary demi glaze $38. The dish was worth sharing. The decor is delightful. The restaurant seems pretty clean. The drink menu sounded very good but what was brought to the table was not. My lavender Paloma tasted like watered down mezcal. Did they forget the grapefruit? We ordered 2 other cocktails as well and they were fine. Just fine. The food was mediocre. We ordered a lot and not much of it was worth talking about, unfortunately. The entrees are definitely more worth ordering than the apps or tapas. To round out the portions, they plate with a lot of potatoes. To their credit, if you like potatoes, you won't leave hungry? Solid choice for Latin food in ATL! I've been a couple of times, but most recently for the Valentine's Day experience: Cupid's Cove. The decor was beautiful which is no surprise, but the true highlight os the experience was the fire dancer who mesmerized the entire crowd while we sipped our cocktails. We had two servers (one was in training), and they both managed to provide stellar service. On to the food: the cupid's crush cocktail is perfect for someone like me who likes their drinks on the sweet side. The ceviche was delicious and so were the empanadas. While I opted for the gelato dessert, I have to admit I wasn't really a fan of either flavor (passionfruit and raspberry), they were a tad bit bitter. There was a lot of social media hype about this restaurant and I enjoy Spanish and Latin cuisine so decided to check this restaurant out. The location is nice albeit parking isn't the greatest, and when you enter the restaurant is beautifully decorated with a huge tree as the centerpiece of the main dining area. I sat at bar and ordered a few dishes including the. Seafood Paella, Empanadas, and Grilled Skirt Steak; I also order a few cocktails. I will say that the food was decent, but I was not at all pleased or impressed by the drinks. Overall, it was an average experience so will probably give them another try in the future to see if perhaps the cocktails have improved over time. read more

There were 4 chips on the plate..... they were larger than a normal chip, but still, 4 chips. The salsa was too acidic. It needed something else added to it to balance it out. We ordered off the lunch deals menu. I got a white sangria which was alright but the glass was dirty and I had to ask for another one. The chicken empanadas had good flavor and were pretty decent but the beef ones lacked flavor. The dipping sauce that came with both of them were the same. It was good with the chicken, but the beef needed to be dipped in the acidic salsa verde to be good. The lunch got the job done but was nothing to write home about. read more

A performer came around doing fire tricks at least three times during our seating, which definitely added some excitement to the night. I ordered the burger, and it was pretty good, but if I were to go again, I'd highly recommend the roasted chicken--it looked incredible! Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and drinks, so no complaints on that front. A small note on service--while our server was friendly, water refills weren't as attentive, and at one point, I was still eating when they tried to take my plate. Outstanding!!! The food, the service, attention to detail, specifically in the food & drinks! My sister and I dined at Alta Toro for an impromptu Galantines dinner. We had reservations & were seated immediately. We went back and forth about our meals and our Server Nicholas always suggested the items we were leaning towards. Drinks: I had the Cupid's Crush and my sister had the Smokey Sweetheart. The drinks were 10/10. Appetizer: We ordered the Peruvian Ceviche which was also a 10/10. It comes with Plantain chips and has the perfect balance of flavor and citrus. We shared, but I could finish the entire app on my own. Our Main Course: I had the Herb Crusted Lamb Chops and my sister had the Halibut Veracruz. I'm sorry the picture does the lamb chops zero justice! They were tender flavorful and the small salad that comes with it was also very delicious. My sister really enjoyed her meal as well. Dessert: Get the Guava Cheesecake!!!! Absolutely delicious! And you also get a pretty good size! Very delicious! The Ambiance was also cute because they had a portion of the patio decorated with Valentines Decor. We were sat outside on the (enclosed) patio as we did not have a reservation but it was equally (if not more) beautiful outside & a very nice night weather wise. (The hostess was very sweet & quick to get us seated) They also had a fire dancer that did a good job of entertaining every space of the restaurant. Our server Nikki was very friendly, informative & attentive. I had the August special frozen lavender & lychee marg - a little too sweet for my liking but a good drink. I also had a tradition margarita which was perfect. For tapas I had the beef empanadas which were perfectly seasoned & fried. The green salsa - mmm so good! As a sauce girlie, I could have taken it as a shot Last but certainly not least- the pork belly! Seriously a STAND OUT! when I say tender, it doesn't really even describe. The restaurant is well decorated and perfect for pics! The service is good, we went before a concert and arrived around 4pm so it was quiet. We did not know that there was a menu change from lunch to dinner - we were handed lunch menus when we sat. We were talking, ordered appetizers but by the time we ordered they had stopped lunch and started dinner. I feel like the waitress should have stood is what time the change would happen because there were items on the lunch menu we actually wanted they are not on the dinner menu. The chips and salsa were just okay. The guacamole was good, I think the Brussels sprouts were the best thing on the table. Everything else was just okay or bland. I got the fish tacos- which again were just okay. I was a little surprised they didn't have a standard margarita menu but the drinks were okay. I probably won't go back. read more
