After several nights in Vienna without having tried schnitzel, I was on a mission to find an…read moreauthentic spot on my last night here. Found this cozy spot a few blocks off the Stadtpark and figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did. it was pretty packed when we got ther, we were able to get a high top table after just a few minutes wait. Ordered the beef tartare and schnitzel. Be forewarned, they don't skimp on the portions here. The tartare was delicious and came with a salad and about a half of stick of butter, which was interesting. Schnitzel was big enough to feed at least two people and left me feeling like I had finally experienced a real local meal. Wine was also great and made me wish I could have stayed there drinking it all night. But alas, I had an early flight to catch the next day...

Quite tight seating. Restrooms are not accessible by people with limited mobility. No baby changing stations. The food is okay. The schnitzel was fine and so was lamb. Okay to eat but not memorable. Caprese salad was tasty. In conclusion, if you are passing by and hungry, feel free to stop by. If you are looking for a memorable lunch/dinner experience, plan to visit a different establishment.

While living in Vienna, Austria, friends and family always wanted to enjoy Schnitzel at Figlmüller…read morein Stephansplatz. However, my personal favorite restaurant for authentic Austrian cuisine is Schitzelwirt! They have an exceptional Biergarten in the front of the restaurant or inside dining if you want a more romantic setting. I recommend enjoying their traditional Wiener Schnitzel with Herb Potatoes. Aperol Spritz & local Sturm Wine pairs nicely with this meal. The service was excellent! They are able to speak English but restaurants are the best place to try using your Deutsch and the staff will be very pleased and create laughs around the table. Also, this restaurant isn't very close to an U-Bahn station so I recommend using a taxi or Uber to arrive and continue your night.

The restaurant is big with lots of seating available and prices are reasonable as well. We even saw a photo of Ed Shireen on the wall during our time there indicating that he had eaten at the restaurant before! Menus are in English and German and the staff are able to communicate in English fluently. They also have some outdoor seating as well. We both ordered the Wiener Schnitzel. Sides are separate so I ordered a salad while my partner ordered a side of fries. The salad was tart and fresh. The schnitzel portion was huge! We got 2 big pieces of schnitzel each on the plate. I tried to finish my plate as best as I could but it was difficult. The coating on the schnitzel was crispy and just the perfect thickness where the pork meat was pounded to the perfect thickness. Overall, a great place to grab some schnitzel in Vienna!

Honestly, form outside did not seemed too much but because I send some of my clients over there to have dinner I thought that I should try it myself as well.... :D And boy, what a great place! I have many dining, many places, but this one we still talk about after few days! They have an open kitchen actually you can see what is going on there. The waiters were (there were a lady and a young boy there, can't remember their names.... sorry) super attentive. The chef gave a taste of a small mustard portion that he just created right there on the spot until we were waiting for the main course. And the main course....! Heavenly! Really! I am not easily impressed but this Norwegian fish that I ordered (I am not even a big fish eater...) was the highlight of my day! :) I will be back! That is for sure! Don't know when but will be back! :) If you are in Linz, do not miss this great place!

One can easily drive and not notice Looshaus due to your eyes glued towards the Rax and Schneeberg…read moremountains. This is normal, which is why we were given a tip to stay an evening at the Gasthaus when we went for a weekend trip to Reichenau. Unfortunately the place was booked out for that weekend and even for one specific weekend in June. It's very popular, so reserve ahead of time. We still found elsewhere to stay near town but still decided to come one evening for dinner. Falstaff 2 forks and 86 points. Ratings seemed to point they were good but another tip to us was they do specialities for the season and take importance in the quality of their food. The food was wonderful and I have to admit this was one of the best lamb dishes I ever had in Austria. I have high expectations when it comes to dishes serving lamb. We got as dessert a variation of what they have and that's perfect. You have no room left in you, it's k. Just order the dessert variation set. Trust me it will be worth all bloating and complaining. This kitchen has some gems stored in their sleeves. Food outstanding! The location and view. Austria is filled with Gasthauses that are situated in places with views that make you say "I'm quitting my job, moving here and eating & drinking for the rest of my life." This is a place like that. View of mountains spectacular and even though we got it at a rainy and cloudy day it was incredible when the sun broke out a couple times. You have tables on balcony, at back if you want more forest and less view or you have these couple benches as in northern Germany so that you can have some privacy with your better half. It's a 1 hour drive from Vienna (would require a lot of walking from train station). Call and reserve room or table before just going there. Staff is wonderful and helpful. If any of you new comers in Vienna are wondering where can I take my friends or family and give a taste of the mountains food and drinks, keep this place in mind.
