OK, Altitude was great when we first called them a year ago (see text below of our 8/15 review), but was unreachable when we had an issue this year. Phone voicemail was full and no responses to text. Fortunately, Gore Range was highly responsive (see my review of them.) Sorry Alex, but I couldn't keep you guys at the prior rating. Yelp Review from Aug 2015: Our garage door spring broke late on a Sunday afternoon and left a message for Alex at Altitude. He called back within 5 minutes and offered to put us at the front of the list the next morning in the event our car was stuck in the garage. Fortunately that wasn't the case. Alex is the man; our garage doors are ageing and he has been great at keeping them running and is very responsive. I had a problem with my garage door that I had tried to fix by myself but found myself over my head (pun not intended). I called Alex and we arranged for him to stop by and take a look. The torsion spring at our house in Breckenridge broke in February 2019. Altitude Garage Door had replaced one spring on the same door in March 2018 for the previous owner. It is normal practice to replace both torsion springs when one breaks. At the same time they also replaced the garage door opener with a Chamberlain. When the second spring broke it caused the new Chamberlain garage door opener to malfunction. After initial contact with Altitude Garage Doors they have subsequently not responded to calls or texts to fix the garage door. Had to use another company to replace both springs and install another garage door opener. read more

Alex installed our doors last fall (it was a long time between ordering & installation) but "forgot" the weather stripping. He promised to order and install as it was included in the price. In addition, the same day the doors were installed, I noted two sizable dents & scratches on the interior. I took pictures and sent them immediately. He promised to replace the panels. I have called, texted, emailed over the last 6 months - all met with excuses. Now, he doesn't even communicate. I am sorry to say I have never seen such a lack of integrity. I am more likely to post positive comments and forget the bad experiences, but this neglect and lack of follow up is absurd. Alex was eager to get our business and our check on the day of installation - but I could never recommend this business. read more

I spent 7400.00 dollars on a custom garage door . It doesn't run smoothly at all , and when I sent an email saying I was not happy he responded with such nasty commentary I was shocked and offended . Do yourself a favor and spend your money somewhere else . read more

My experience with Alex Johnson has been horrible. It took 4 months to get the doors (3) installed, another 5 weeks for the weather strip, and there is still a window broken during installation. He was paid in full because he shook my hand, looked me in the eye, and promised me he would finish this job. Will not respond to e-mail or text. Altitude is the worst subcontractor I have used. Sorry Alex, you deserve this review. read more
