I live in LA but travel through Baltimore often and love this studio. Similar to my LA studio, the…read morefloor is not carpeted which definitely minimizes lingering odors. If you are used to practicing regular yoga, i.e. without heat and on a wood floor, I can see why you might detect a sweaty odor in any Bikram studio. But since the point of Bikram is to sweat, most studios will have some odor and humidity. I've been practicing Bikram for 4 years - this studio is clean, not smelly, roomy and cozy. The teachers are uniformly excellent and they keep the room hot. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. The bathrooms are clean and there are three showers and numerous lockers if you want to lock up your stuff. I'm grateful to have Bikram Baltimore my home away from home! 11/1/19 - still love this studio. Consistently good teachers, clean and professional. If You are used to bikram yoga, you will find it a pleasure. If it's your first time, it's always a challenge but everyone here is nice and supportive

I just got back from my first Bikram Yoga class ever. I've done Ashtanga yoga before, but never hot…read moreyoga. When you first walk into the room, it's of course hot (as it's supposed to be), but smells like a wet dog. The floor is carpeted, and people sweat all over the carpet, but it honestly smells like they don't ever clean the carpet. It's honestly disgusting. On top of that, I went with a diabetic friend who also had never done hot yoga. The instructor, Barbara, recommended that we stay in the room, even if we can't do the moves, to receive the most benefit out of the class. She also told us it is normal to feel nauseous or light-headed during class. After about 15-20 minutes of class, my friend wanted to step out for a minute because she didn't feel well. Being diabetic, it is really easy to get dehydrated and she wanted a bit of fresh air so she could try to last through the whole 90-minute class. Barbara asked her to stay, and she didn't because it's ultimately her choice as to whether or not she steps out for air. After a few minutes, Barbara had us take a brief water break and stepped out to talk to my friend. She came back in shortly thereafter and made a few comments about how wrong and inappropriate it is for people to leave class. I don't care who you are or what business you're in, but it is NEVER appropriate to talk badly about a customer in front of other customers. Ever. For any reason. I asked my friend what happened after we left, and she told me that Barbara came out and just basically yelled at her for leaving class. She said she talked to her like a child, and told her she can't leave class and she can't be hanging around there because "she might steal something." She came out a while later and walked up front, diddled around at the front desk and kept an eye on my friend, making sure she didn't do anything wrong. Barbara never bothered to ask if my friend was okay (and she knew my friend was diabetic), she never asked if she had any blood sugar problems, or even tried to encourage her to finish the class. She barked at her like she was a dog and then accused her of trying to steal. In addition, after she came back in the class room at one point, she was going on and on about how different people have different thresholds and different capabilities and such. Yet, somehow, it wasn't okay for someone who didn't have a high threshold for heat to step out for a minute and catch their breath. I can tell you one thing, I will never give them my business ever again. Even if we had enjoyed the class and wanted to come back, after being treated that way as a new customer, it makes me not want to come back. How can you honestly treat new customers that way? I don't understand how someone can be so rude. I've never in my life had a yoga instructor be anything less than encouraging and caring. But if one instructor there is like that, I can't imagine what the others are like.

I have been a client here for nearly two years and feel the massage therapists working here are…read moreoverall very skilled and professional. You can't go wrong with any of them and they're the real reason to visit this massage studio. The massage rooms and tables are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms are sparkling clean, and the float tanks are a really cool experience as well. There is a beautiful sauna area that's very Instagram worthy. All of the areas where you receive a service feel very serene, spa-like, and upscale. Meredith is a lovely person and makes really good use of aromatherapy and long holds or pauses in her massage that make you feel super relaxed and zen. She is certified in pregnancy massage and does a great job. Marcus has super strong hands, is ideal to see if you're looking for deep tissue massage, and makes good use of hot stones and warm towels. Ben is great as well, did some passive stretching along with the massage for tight areas. Karen seems to intuitively know the perfect amount of pressure to use and does the best head and face massage ever. My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that the entrance and waiting area you sit in prior to your massage/float doesn't really match the atmosphere of the other rooms. I think it's a little too kitsch and cluttered and reminds me of walking into a small store that feels very casual and doesn't have the ambiance of the massage rooms. Unfortunately not very "Instagram worthy". There's a lot of stuff for sale that isn't directly related to massage or even wellness, such as bohemian style clothing, silver jewelry, wind chimes, etc. The Speakeasy room has relatively uncomfortable seating (there are two firm, backless benches and just two chairs with a low back), more displays of non-massage related things for sale (such as non alcoholic refrigerated drinks, candies, books, artwork, etc.), large displays of business cards and fliers for other local businesses, and dark furniture which just makes the room feel small and cluttered. You sort of feel like you are waiting in a shop rather than being a member at an upscale massage and wellness studio. The self serve tea display is really, really nice but just gets lost in the clutter/decor/fliers. And my only other gripe is that the infrared sauna is preset to a really, really high temperature (maybe higher than spa saunas I have used elsewhere) and I was told it doesn't allow for adjustments. I was excited to use the sauna but couldn't tolerate it more than a few minutes at a time. During my sauna session I simply had to exit the sauna every few minutes to cool off a bit. I realize this is maybe because I am a sauna newbie but I do wish there was an "intro to sauna" setting for those like me to use. In summary: great services, great massage therapists, kitschy entryway/waiting area design which is absolutely not a dealbreaker

Today I went in for a chair massage because at $20 for fifteen minutes and no tip- it was the perfect fit for my lower budget and immediate need due to a strained muscle in my back. A big thanks to the always welcoming staff and especially co-owner Bob who gave me a tour my first visit! Without it I wouldn't have known about the massage chair and all the other great services as much as I do now. See you all soon TMB! :) -Tina
