I had my dreams set on a Disneyland photoshoot with my family, but some of my crew just hated taking photos. Andrew set up a call with me to ease my concerns and talk to me about my ideal shoot and what kind of photos I was hoping to get. I wish I hadn't spent all of that time stressing before the shoot, because he was right, it went AMAZING. We have such special photos now of our family at one of our favorite plates, and I couldn't be more grateful to Crystal Beacon. When we met up with Andrew and Kristin, I knew it was going to be a really great day (despite it being 90+ degrees at Disneyland! Yikes). They immediately started entertaining the kids and somehow also simultaneously snapping candid shots (which are my husband's favorite kinds of photos). They knew exactly where to go to get the best shots and how to get my kids to give natural smiles (and not run away from the camera like they used to do with other photographers haha). Honestly, we all totally forgot that we were doing a photoshoot and it just felt like we were hanging out with good friends. It was so much fun! And yes, we got all of the shots I had been hoping for.. I didn't think it was possible, but Andrew made it happen. Andrew edited the photos beautifully and got them to me way faster than I expected. I thought this was a great way to showcase photography, different than the usual 'mount the photos in a frame and display on the wall' It gives a whole new dimension of viewing. From the students experiences you can feel that they've learned so much and opened themselves up to a new way of looking through the camera and learning the basics. From point-and-shoots to DSLRs, you'll learn to use the functions and develop that "photographer's eye". They also have First Friday Photo. Every first friday of the month starting around 7pm til about 10pm, you can meet the Nomura's and other aspiring photographers in a social setting at their studio. Along with host and guest supplied snacks and drinks, they will also have lights set up and possible themes where you can come and shoot. Discuss techniques or anything relating to photography. Al and Erin are very warming and always excited to teach and share the world of photography. From beginners to professionals, there's always something to learn. I've referred friends for photo shoots and workshops to the Nomura's with great response.
