Chicken Marsala enough for leftovers for lunch.
Tara G.

This was an amazing find! We met friends here ( we live in Keller) and were not disappointed! The employees were friendly and efficient and taking orders, refilling drinks and clearing plates. The manager looking person /owner thanks us for coming in and checked on us also and even made a point tell us good bye as we left. If this was closer to me an easier to get to would definitely put it in at least a monthly rotation. My chicken Marsala was super tender and the sauce was very well prepared. One of the top five Marsala I have had. Prices were reasonable too. Check it out and enjoy! Also the bread was delicious that comes with the meal! This is a casual place in a strip. Outdoor seating but wouldn't advise in summer

A side salad with their complementary bread.

It was lunch time and I was about to go somewhere else for lunch then I saw this place. So I decided to go here instead. So I walked in and the lady asked if it was just me and I said yes. Then she just told me to sit wherever I wanted. So as I took a seat I looked around and it's a pretty nice little place. Not huge but decent size.So the waitress brought me a menu and asked what I wanted to drink. As I looked at the menu it's your basic classic Italian food. With pizza, spaghetti, lasagna, Stromboli along with all the other Italian dishes.I thought about getting a pizza but I didn't really want a whole pizza by myself. So I ended up getting the Stromboli.Which it comes with a small side salad. Then she asked me what kind of dressing I wanted and once again another place who doesn't carry thousand Island.Which I was disappointed. So I ended up getting ranch. So she brought out my salad which was decent size. Then as I was eating my salad she brought out some bread that I didn't realize I was getting. The bread was really good and it came with a couple of pieces of butter with it.So about 5 minutes or so later my Stromboli came out.I would say the Stromboli was good but I've definitely had better. Not to mention it was a little cold in some of the places inside of it.It wasn't bad but I would probably get something else next time. So overall I would recommend this place and say if you're in the neighborhood give it a shot.It looks like it's kinda of new and hasn't been there for very long.

Lobster ravioli from Valentine's Day special

Had high expectations for this place since I've heard great reviews about their food. We went the weekend after Valentine's Day and it was packed, but we were still seated soon after we walked in. The servers seemed busy from the amount of people in the place, so it was understandable since it was Valentine's Day Weekend. However, we found service to be lacking because after we were given our menus, it was a long while before anyone came back to get our order. Then once we were done with our meal, it was a long wait before anyone came to check on us to get us rung up. This was only bothersome because there were plenty of waitresses free at this time and none of them came by to check on our table, but yet it seemed as though all the tables around us were being cared for. We tried the Valentine's Day Specials from their dinner menu, got the lobster ravioli and chicken lasagna. Food was tasty so I'm giving the review 3 stars, especially the calamari appetizer we ordered. Their salad was delicious. Unfortunately, I did bite into what I assume was an eggshell in the Caesar salad with Caesar dressing, so that was off putting. Bread came out hot and fresh. Ambiance was nice and perfect for a Valentine's dinner date. We just wish the service could have been improved for our experience, because we felt neglected most of the night.

Appetizer platter, so delicious

Another 5-star visit to one of our favorite Italian Bistro's, Amano. Today's visit was to celebrate my sister's birthday. We wanted to celebrate and told her she could go anywhere she wanted. There was no other choice, but Amano Italian Bistro. Each and every time we dine at the restaurant, we are greeted so graciously and warmly. At the time we arrived, the restaurant wasn't busy at all, so we were offered a table of our choice. Since we are such frequent customers, we didn't have to look at the menu. We're pretty much creatures of habit especially when we get onto an entree that we really like. My wife is really bad about this habit. She loves their lasagna topped with a marinara sauce. My sister loves their Chef Salad with the rolled ham, salami, pepperoni, cheese and artichokes. Their house Italian dressing is so delicious. Normally I stick with the Chicken Piccata but this time I opted for the Spinach Ravioli topped with a rich creamy alfredo sauce. After a short wait and enjoying the fresh baked bread WAY too much our entrees arrived. Conversation stopped since everyone was enjoying the food so much. All of our entrees were so delicious. Amano Italian Bristo never lets us down. Yummy, and a very happy tummy.

Food was very good, just needed a little bit of salt. The fresh bread was amazing!!!! Service was very good & welcoming. The crust was advertised as neopolitan, but was not. I wasn't disappointed because the crust was still very good

Amazing food and service! Bonus it is BYOB. Family run restaurant. All their food is prepared fresh.

Amano Trio

Disappointment. What a bum, these reviews must be super old, food has no taste. Food was super bland, no flavoring, doesn't even look cooked. The chicken looks like it came from a can, they did not cook the chicken with the sauce or seared it at all. Just tastes like boiled chicken, bad quality, mushy. The only thing that was good was the free bread, which did not come with any dipping sauce like most italian restaurant We asked the waitress if the bread came with any olive oil/balsamic sauce and she said they had a dipping sauce for it and she'll being it out but she did not tell us that it cost extra. Maybe $2 would have been fine but $4? Ridiculous. Ordered the Amano Trio and chicken Piccata: Amano trio: fettuccini Alfredo no taste, have to add pepper, salt, chili flakes and cheese on top for some decent flavor. The lasagna was also bland as well, meat like ground beef non seasoned, tomato sauce not even tasty. The chicken pamagiana was okay, didn't come with pasta though, we ate it with the Alfredo. Chicken piccata flavoring was okay, soggy and saucy. Chicken was not good, look like boiled chicken covered in saucy but was not cooked with the dish. Overall no good, heavy on the corn starch. Will not becoming back to this establishment.

First time trying this restaurant. Not busy for a Tuesday dinner rush. The restaurant was clean and seemed well staffed. We were greeted promptly and seated quickly. The staff was courteous and professional. We asked for recommendations and our waitress provided several crowd favorites. I ordered the calamari for appetizer. It was crunchy but lacked flavor... seemed a bit bland. I ordered the chicken and sausage pasta which was descent. The food is a bit pricey. IMO this is how I would rate the establishment: Food: 3.5 Staff: 4 Overall:3.5

Amazing complimentary bread + dipping oil ($3)

The food here is delicious. Complimentary rolls are phenomenal. Favorite appetizer would be the simmered mussels. Pro tip, dip the bread in that garlic butter...so so good. The Amano Sea is a seafood lover's dream and the tortellini bolognese is comfort in a bowl. The Amano Trio is perfect if you like chicken parm with fettucine alfredo like me. The lasagna that comes with it is just ok. My issue is with the service. I came back for the second time, because the food was so good and I wanted to confirm if it was just our server that day that rushed us through our meal. Second time confirmed that I didn't imagine it. It's subtle but it's enough for me to notice. Even the lady beside us that was complaining about the lasagna received better service than we did. I don't care how good your food is, I will never continue to patron a business that makes me feel unwelcome.

Shrimp Alfredo

First time here. Came for a little early birthday dinner with my friend and it was pretty quiet. There weren't many customers when we walked in, but a few more walked in when we got seated. We were staring at our menus long enough for me to notice that the other tables who came after us were getting their bread. Luckily, as soon as I said something, the waitress came over to get our orders and everything rolling. I'm gonna assume this was just a one off thing. Appetizers: fried calamari and mussels I HIGHLY recommend the mussels. They were the best thing we had. I'd say there was nothing special about the shrimp alfredo but it wasn't bad. What's funny was a couple days later, my family friends got me Amano's take out! It was delish. I REALLY liked the Shrimp fra Diablo. I've never had a dish like this before and I would DEFINITELY get it again. The shrimp was good size and the flavors went well with the thin Angel hair pasta. They also ordered - fettuccini carbonara (which I've also never tried, I like the flavor that comes from the thin ham slices and onions.) - baked ziti - supreme pizza (the toppings were plentiful and well placed) I'd definitely wanna try this place again and would be back for the mussels and shrimp fra diablo

Our family of six stopped in around 6 PM on a Saturday. The place is located at the intersection of I-35 & Hwy 114. It wasn't very busy- I think only two tables were occupied and so we were seated immediately. We were in and out in about an hour and fifteen minutes. There isn't tons of parking here, but it seems sufficient. The waitstaff were absolutely on their "A" game! I can't say enough about them! Drinks were always kept full and they went out of their way to make sure everyone got exactly what they wanted! They answered all our questions and were polite and helpful. Amano's doesn't have booths or any structure in the dining area, and is sparsely decorated with stained concrete floors. This makes for a pretty fair echo chamber. We ordered our drinks and a couple of appetizers which came out in a jiffy. The waitstaff also brought us fresh bread. It was a tiny bit salty and chewy and I loved it!! One of the highlights of the meal. My lovely bride ordered stuffed mushrooms and I ordered a Mediterranean platter. Mushrooms aren't my thing but I was told these were lackluster and were likely Stouffer's frozen mushrooms, although the marinara was ok. The Mediterranean Platter was excellent, however. The hummus tasted fresh and had a wonderful dash of citrus flavor. There were whole pepperoncini, dolmas, kind of a greek olive salad, and good pita triangles for holding all the goodies! The entrees looked good! Plenty of seafood on the Amano Sea. I immediately noticed the crab was imitation, and they could have left that off because it wasn't great. The shrimp, the muscles, clams, and squid were good. It was supposed to come in a white wine sauce. I did not detect any wine at all, although it was watery and oily. A family member across the table got the Amano Sea with marinara and her sauce was OK but also watery and oily. I will point out that the shrimp were large and they tasted great. One of the fam got shrimp fettuccine. I tasted the sauce and it was more like gravy than alfredo sauce ---not a lot of cheese in there ---mostly flour. Some of us ordered dessert. I was told the tiramisu was very good. I tasted a bite of the cannoli. I was not impressed. The filling was grainy and sweet, but not flavorful. Overall, the service I thought was excellent. The food was mediocre but still OK. I thought for what we got quantity wise the prices were OK but not OK for quality. There were some hits, but I probably won't heartily recommend this place based on the quality of some of the food.

Are the veal dishes made from actual veal cutlets? Forgive me, but we're new to the area and ordered veal from another establishment and it was made with processed veal patties, which wasn't advertised on the menu. Thank you.

Joe's Pizza and Pasta is one of those places I can't believe I slept on for so long…read more I have driven past this spot a bazillion times since we moved to Justin (and even back when we lived in Northlake, which isn't far at all). We'd always notice it, but for whatever reason, never stopped. Finally, we decided, "Let's just go"--and I'm so glad we did. First off, it's BYOB, which is always a nice bonus. The food feels very homemade and clearly made to order (I know for sure the Alfredo sauce is). I started with the bruschetta, and let me tell you--it is not the bruschetta you're expecting. It's different, unique, and absolutely incredible. So good it deserves its own shoutout. I ordered the three-cheese ziti, and it was fantastic. Honestly, the biggest compliment I can give is that none of us left with leftovers. Every single bite was eaten. That never happens. The place has that cozy, mom-and-pop feel, with limited tables, so there's a chance you might have to wait--but it is 100% worth it. If you're on the fence like I was for years, take this as your sign to go. I'd absolutely recommend it and will definitely be back.

I like the gentle soft music playing in the background. It adds for a super relaxing lunch experience. We started off with the fried mozzarella "sticks". They were delicious. Light and airy and their marinara sauce was the perfect compliment. If this sauce is on the meatball sub I'm gonna be a very happy guy! Our waiter, an absolute Gent brought out some homemade garlic rolls that were simply exquisite! Fresh and tasty. A real treat! Of course I had to order the meatball Parmigiana sub. Spaghetti. It arrived in no short order and was perfectly prepared. Served hot. I especially liked the sub. Light and airy and toasted to pure tender perfection. The meatballs were good. I'd argue a bit more seasoning was needed. The sub needed a bit more sauce. I want a messy meatball sub. I remedy this by using some of the marinara from the bread and mozzarella sticks. We also tried the Fettuccine Alfredo. For me the Alfredo sauce was a bit of a disappointment. I like it salty. It was creamed based and needed some fresh Parmesan cheese and salt. I was sitting on a 3-4 star review landed on 4 overall.

She originally wanted Olive Garden, but I always try to support local when we can, so I suggested Picone... and I'm so glad! We ordered the birria crunch wrap, smash burger with potatoes, chicken parm pesto, and a Caesar salad, and we literally left no crumbs. Every bite tasted intentional. The chicken parm was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with rich, flavorful sauce and melty cheese that didn't overpower the dish. The pesto added a fresh, herby richness that tied everything together beautifully. The birria crunch wrap was packed with bold, slow-cooked flavor, and the crispy tortilla gave way to tender meat and creamy, cheesy goodness. It somehow managed to be comforting and exciting at the same time. The smash burger had that perfect crispy edge with a juicy center, and the potatoes were golden, crispy, and seasoned so well that they disappeared almost as fast as the burger. Even the Caesar salad wasn't an afterthought. It was fresh, crisp, perfectly dressed, and exactly what you want alongside a rich meal. You can tell there's real care behind the food. Nothing felt rushed or phoned in. Every dish had layers of flavor, great textures, and combinations that just worked. It felt like people who genuinely love feeding people made our meal. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. It had just the right amount of local charm that made the kids feel like they had discovered a cool hidden gem. The chicken pesto entree was okay, but they used some other herb besides Basil in the pesto that is just not my jam-- dill maybe?, chervil??-- I dunno, but it threw off the flavor for me. That said, the cutlet underneath was very crispy and all the bites without the pesto were delish!. I have heard raves about the burger, so maybe that is worth another shot?? The service?, not stellar, just bored and unenthusiastic at the counter and s-l-o-w from the kitchen. The carrot came out quickly, but the cutlet took about 30 minutes after that, and the place was nearly empty. And, sorry to mention this part, the bathroom was filthy. I try not to correlate a dirty bathroom with a dirty kitchen, but it's difficult to reconcile.
