I found a new favorite dish!! Let me begin by saying I've always been a fan of the shawarma- beef or chicken - it's just made with love and you can taste it in every bite. But this week I had the chicken kabobs and oh my...!! First of all, the chicken is different than the chicken in the shawarma and it just the most tender and juicy chicken kabob I've ever had. Paired with the chop chop salad and rice and you can't go wrong. It's filling, healthy and a great value.

The seafood restaurant is great in this community. They have grilled and blacken food. It is very welcome by the neighborhood. I got the seafood combo blacken and grilled. The blackened shrimp is great. I like the squid also. It is delicious. Portion is enough for an adult.

We popped in not know what to expect and we were pleasantly surprised. It was slow, the cashier who helped us was bubbly and informative. The portions were good for the prices, and the food was delicious. We would happily come back.

Absolutely amazing! The seafood combination I ordered was fried so perfectly and the batter they use is delicious!! My wife ordered the regular combination which had the lamb steak and chicken. Each bite was a flavor bomb! This is a hidden gem located on 301 and I passed it many times. Finally I pointed it out to my wife on her bday and gave it a try. I will 1000% be coming back. Best calamari around hands down!

Some of the best falafels that I've had, super flavorful and moist. We also had baba ganoush as a starter and it was thick and delicious. It also came with about 4 pitas that were warm and fluffy. I recommend the apple malt soda that they have up front. It was so good that we took one for the road. The beef hoggie was also really tasty, juicy and a decent price for $10.99. Also had the kafta skewers and they were seasoned differently than I'm used to but I love trying new things and expanding my palate. If you don't like warm seasoning it might not be the dish for you. Definitely will come back to try more things!

I ordered a mix seafood plate. I asked to grill them with lightly blacken seasoning. The grilled tilapia, squid and shrimp tasted good. The side dish were rice, fry and chop chop salad. They tasted decent. The dining area was clean and big. The service was good enough. It's a nice middle eastern eatery at Riverview area.

I asked my mom to bring me a Greek salad, not knowing where she got it bought it from but after having a couple bites I had to text her where she got the Greek salad from and she told me "Amar"! This fresh Greek salad is amazing! The Greek dressing is not your typical store bought dressing. Something about it just taste so great and fresh. I will have to stop by and visit one of these days to have a hot dish.

Feeling lazy and decided to order delivery. What a pick! The food was soooooo good! I got the chicken tawouk and beef skewers. Comes with 3 sides. I got 2 sides of chop chop and rice. I also got pita bread and taziki. Oh man it was good, all of it! Fresh, flavorful and an excellent portion. Definitely recommend. 10 out of 10. Can't wait to try something else on their menu.

I came here with my family while visiting in the area as we wanted to have Middle Eastern food and this was the best meal we had during the entire trip. We had the family meal, and it was easy to share and everyone enjoyed it. I have a two year old and a ten year old. The flavor was great. My husband said one of the dips had a little more cinnamon than he is used to. The meats were awesome. I would come here again many times. My oldest son wanted to go back the next day.

This place is located in one of the new plazas built on 301. The restaurant is bright, spacious, and not overcrowded. You order at the counter, and when we went up, we received great customer service from the girl that took our order. The food was hit and miss. We ordered the falafel appetizer. The falafel were substantial, and the portions were huge. They were so thick, though, that I got an uncooked vibe from them. The flavor was mediocre at best. It came with a side of chop chop salad and bread. The chop chop was phenomenal, and the bread was great. My spouse got the a chicken shawarma sandwich (not pictured). It was large, and it was tasty. The chicken was a bit dry, though. I got the kafta skewers platter with rice, fries, and hummus. The kafta was dry, but it had amazing flavor. It had a great charred taste. The rice was flavorless. The fries were good. The hummus was AMAZING! There is an up charge to get it as a side, but it is so worth it. Star of the whole meal. We also got two cheesecakes to go. They were terrible. Tasted very artificial. I'm glad we tried this place. Typically I would give 3 stars since the food was hit and miss, but the hummus was so good, I had to bump it up!

Don't let the casual ambiance fool you- the food here is delicious! Service was quick and they were super helpful with answering questions about the food options. We ordered the fried fish platter and mixed grill plate with rice, chop chop and beans. The mango smoothie was tasty too! Fish platter: you get to choose between fried or grilled fish and you get a choice between basa, salmon and something else (I forget). Basa was fried to perfection, the fish was moist and coating was super flavorful. Mixed grilled plate: LOVED the chop chop- the veg was fresh and I liked the vinegary dressing they toss it in. The kabobs were grilled well and not moist. The garlic sauce goes well with the meats too. This place is certainly a gem- don't sleep on it!

Cute little restaurant with authentic Mediterranean food. I had the veggie platter which was different than other restaurants in containing cauliflower instead of falafel. But the cauliflower was delicious and I actually loved that with substituting the pita for sliced cucumber I had a minimally processed meal with excellent flavor. You order at the counter and then the food is delivered to the table. The employee was very friendly and helpful. Plus she advised me to sign up for their rewards program which I did though I'm not in the area very often. I will be returning when I am.

Can't say enough good things about this place. My wife and I stopped in for a Friday night dinner because we wanted to try a new place. When we arrived we were warmly greeted by the owner who promptly took our order. Short wait for the food but it's all prepared fresh. We had the skewer plates and the meat was melt in your mouth good. Perfect seasoning and the rice, beans, and chop chop salad were a delicious addition as our 3 sides. After the meal owner personally came up to thank us for dining. Outstanding service and clean and welcoming dining room. Highly recommend! read more

There are only a few places in Riverview that are truly worth spending your money on, given Riverview's reputation for poor customer service and low-quality food. Amar is definitely NOT one of those places. In fact, it stands out as a gem! The food at Amar is absolutely fantastic - every dish bursts with flavor and is prepared with the fresh ingredients. The owners are equally amazing and are always welcoming every time we visit. Amar is a must-visit spot in Riverview!!! ***it's can be warm inside because the building is brand new and the landlord hasn't fixed the A/C. read more

We have been to Amar at least a dozen times since their opening, and the food, service, and overall experience have been consistently excellent. We love Middle Eastern cuisine so naturally we tried every item on the menu. Every dish is delicious, and we particularly enjoy the Lebanese influence, especially in the shawarma options. Highly recommend the mixed grill platter, grilled fish platter, chicken shawarma platter, shawarma sandwiches, mutabbal, and falafel. The portions are generous, and the pricing is reasonable given the quality and quantity. As for service - the young lady at the front is always kind, professional, and patient. The wonderful family that owns the restaurant works seamlessly together, ensuring everything runs smoothly, from creating a well-rounded menu to maintaining order accuracy, food presentation, flavor, restaurant cleanliness, and overall professionalism in service. We've grown to admire and adore the team at Amar; they are kind, humble, & hardworking people. It's evident that they know how to run a successful restaurant business. I was surprised to see a few three-star reviews. We visit 1-2 times per week because each experience has been consistently great. It's important to note that they literally just opened, therefore, ambiance will evolve once they've established a proven business model. I was so excited to try this place as I saw it being built. Once I learned it was open, I was there within days. This is a large restaurant, no ambiance, and air conditioning was barely working on an over 90 degree day. The style is very industrial. You have to go to the counter to order from the overhead menu (no paper menus), yet. The girl waiting on us didn't seem too happy to be there, and she wasn't very knowledgeable about the menu. You get a number, find a table then someone brings out your food when it's ready. I ordered the falafel sandwich. I asked the girl what was in it. Everything she told me was NOT in the sandwich. Honestly, I don't know what was in it. The falafel was chopped up, not good. I like to bite into a good piece of falafel. I was told it had tzatziki sauce in it, but I didn't taste any cucumber. It tasted ok though. It was wrapped in a large tortilla which was grilled, nice touch. I also ordered a small bowl of hummus. It came with pita bread. It was quite bland and loose. I like my hummus thick. I ate it all, just different than what I prefer. I totally get this is a new place and it has to work out its kinks, but I must admit I was a bit disappointed. I guess I was expecting a middle eastern feel to the place, but it was blah and sterile looking. Oh, and it's a bit pricey for what you get. Falafel sandwich -$10.99 (no sides) Small Hummus - $6.99 They also had Pepsi products so I drank water. Will I return? Not sure. Perhaps in a few months once the kinks are worked out. Food is ok but the smell inside the restaurant is gross. It's acceptable because there are very few options in Riverview. Honestly, I would just make that trip to Temple Terrace area where there are far more better options if you want Middle Eastern food. read more

I was waiting for this place to open for so long, I love middle eastern food and there aren't a lot in Riverview. Safe to say this place is everything I hoped for. Dropped in to try it with a couple friends, the location is a great. Very hospitable staff, I think they are family owned. Comfortable interior, amazing service, and excellent food. The chicken shawarma and gyro were very good, they came out in 10 mins and were fresh and hot. Fries were good as well. Will definitely be coming back more and highly recommend! read more

My honest and fair review - The food is good but the serving sizes lack like if you order your 3 sides of rice it's not enough of a serving of rice(should be 3 adult servings if it comes with 3 sides) . Today I went to use the bathroom and I'm 8 months pregnant and the girl didn't care she was cleaning the bathroom and could care less vs letting me in before starting. We got a mixed seafood platter and we only wanted the Fish grilled , the other two items we wanted fried as pictured but they said they either all come fried or grilled. We asked for to go boxes as we got a lot of dips (hummus, babaganoush) and the same girl said $1 each container like they can't wait to nickel and dime you. So three times the same girl was just not accommodating or providing great service so that's why I'm giving it 3 stars when you run a business, specially one that is never jam packed with customers you have to bend a little in some areas it can't just be your way or the highway so instead of gaining a loyal customer they lose one over charging a $1 for each small round clear to go containers that cost Pennies to make. Not very business savvy. read more

This is a Lebanese restaurant without pear. I had a trio of kebabs...chicken, beef and sausage that were as close to perfection that anyone could want. The three sides were well seasoned and ample in portion. As both a professional chef and culinary educator I really find it difficult to simply say "just go there." If there was one dish to pick on it would be the falafel....simply not to my liking otherwise Just Go There and enjoy the food and customer friendly ambiance. Enjoy!!! read more

Food itself was very disappointing. I've been to plenty of Mediterranean spots and my go to is Beef or Chicken shawarma with fries on the side. I got the beef shawarma which was very dry. Also fries are like wedges that weren't seasoned at all. 2.2/10 Service- very straight forward didn't have any recommendations for food options. Restaurant- very spacious on inside but expect a hot seat... Temp was set to 81 degrees no joke so enjoy that. Honestly I would not recommend it but maybe try in the next couple of months after they find there feet I know they just opened. Just keeping it honest ;) read more

Wow! This restaurant was incredible! My family ordered the streak and chicken kabab skewers. They were cooked to perfection. The chicken was very tender, and flavorful. The steak had a wonderful smokey flavor which can sometimes be overwhelming, however, it was perfect! Even the chop chop was good. My only reservation was the price. It would be better if the fountain drink was included in the meal. read more

I love the middle eastern food here. It is 100% authentic in my opinion. Amazing Beef Shawarma sandwich and Baba Ganoush. The sandwiches really hit the spot here. It's really nice to have some fantastic middle eastern food like this nearby. I have been twice and the staff are very nice. The inside has a lot of room and tables. The chairs are really comfortable in my opinion. read more

Today, I got the chance to eat at Amar Riverview. I will give them 4 satrs on food, cleanness, interior, and services. The food is very tasty, accurately seasoned, their location is excellent, and the interior is very open and sensible. Two stars on the food quantity, which was not much with the price they are charging. I got 1 mixed grill palter for $27, I added tip o. top of it with then became around $33 plus. Two stars on the high price they are charging. I will say that they are 40% higher in comparison with other Middel Eastern food restaurants prices in Tampa Bay. I will suggest that they should bring their prices down and introduce lunch deals within a range of $9 - $11 per deal with a good quantity. This will bring them more customers, and a very high turn around all the time. Best wishes read more

Because three of the salads were placed in the same section, by the next day all three salads were a combined soggy mess, and the only part that was still edible was the hummus.
