Bad reviews? So…read moreyesterday I went to DC Klinieken, right across from the Byzantium parking garage in Amsterdam (Tesselschadestraat). I went in fully prepared for the whole "bad reception, etc. etc." experience people apparently talk about. Instead... it was clean. Very friendly ladies everywhere. Downstairs at the entrance they were genuinely kind. Upstairs at the ultrasound department, same story: warm welcome, friendly staff. The female doctor doing the scan was kind, took her time, and explained everything clearly. And when I left, it honestly felt like I'd just attended a family birthday party, because everyone said goodbye so nicely. I think you'd have to be having a very bad day yourself to find anything to complain about here. My experience? Excellent. Better than your average hospital in the Netherlands. I'm almost starting to think that if I ever feel a bit off, I might just swing by DC Klinieken for a quick ultrasound check-up.

I guess it makes the wait more palatable although the wait wasn't all that bad. Talk to the lady behind the counter to begin. Give her all the require information and ID. Then, have a seat and wait until your name is called.

Coming from another country it's difficult to adapt to a different medicine style and practices, but I had no problems here. The doctors always listened to me instead of dismissing me. They have been very interested and always do their best to explain everything to me. :) although I have my own gp here I've had appointments with many of their other docs! The place is super clean and organized, friendly staff and nice waiting room.

I underestimated that they would demonstrate the key components and standards of what a doctor should demonstrate. Good luck to anyone! Keep in mind they will cover up any doctor's bad behavior. So make sure you have legal medical insurance with an insurance company before you go to a hospital here, something I was not aware of that you must have when encountering bad and unethical doctors here.

A hospital where, due to the negligence of MDL doctors, IBD nurses and rheumatism doctors, you do not get better, but unfortunately sicker and sicker. They neglected my serious symptoms. I AM NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY AT ALL. My argument focuses in particular on the gastroenterology and rheumatology departments. (Eye clinic in AMC is good: because of the short lines of communication between doctor and patient, ophthalmologists take patients seriously). What makes the MDL departments so worthless: - the IBD nurses who sit in the doctors' chair. Making wrong assessments that can be dangerous for the patient. -the miserably long lines between doctor and patient. -the worthless digital mijndossier: communication doesn't work at all -If you have VERY serious complaints, you will simply be sent home with painkillers. I didn't feel taken seriously at all, even though there was a ticking time bomb in my body. -the doctors did not collaborate with other doctors, only looked at their own field in a very autistic way, and then sent it back to the GP. I also expect a medical specialist to look at the patient as a whole/holistically. If necessary, refer to the internist for more rigorous examination or consult with each other. Simply negligent! -Referring to an internist But they left it to the GP, even though it was urgent and even dangerous. Once a referral was received from the GP, the AMC rejected the referral in question because it believed it contained too little information. HELLO! This is not a formal error in a lawsuit, case dismissed due to an error. This is a HUMAN LIFE! -I haven't seen my own IBD/MDL doctor in 5 years. Staff shortage or something? It sure seems like it! -rheumatology outpatient clinic: too many patients and too few staff -incompetent doctors who cannot act and assess when a situation is serious. This certainly applies to the rheumatology outpatient clinic. It is better to go to a smaller hospital, if all goes well specialists also work there (get paid more) and have more time for their clients. AMC: rheumatology outpatient clinics and MDL: worthless third world country hospital!

They use high-tech equipment to see where you start and review the graphs and other info with you during your consultation. I was lucky enough to be able to make an appointment for an adjustment the next day. The staff is super-friendly and the office is full of native English speakers which makes it super easy for American expats. The facility is nice, modern, clean. There is a private room for adjustments if you prefer, but they typically use tables in the back room that is open with three tables.

So never having a real say in who I wanted my GP to be I could not have been happier with the choice made by my agent. It has now been over 5 years and I have heard many of my friends complain about the healthcare in the Netherlands. Well ladies and gents, if you want: - to be listened too -don't want absurd waiting times for appointments - don't want to feel rushed during your appointment - action taken on your behave - feel like you are being taken seriously Then this is your place! I can't speak for all the GP's there but my GP Dr. Linnebank is a trooper. To give you all a clear example: I fell down the stairs at work and couldn't put down my foot anymore. The first aid consultants at work had urged me to go to the hospital or see my GP. So I called the Center the assistant was super understanding and soothing. She listened to my story and then told me to come over as soon as I could even though the Dr. was busy and my fall wasn't exactly live threatening she would make sure that he would see me quickly in between. When I got there (carried in by my cab driver ;) )She sat me down and called my GP who was in another appointment. After a short wait he finished his appointment and helped me straight away even though the waiting room was full. He assessed my foot and body to make sure I didn't have any other injuries. After which he concluded that he wanted me to go to the hospital, so he called the hospital himself to make sure they knew I was coming and could be helped quickly. About 4 weeks after all this I went back to see my GP as my foot wasn't getting any better. If any it was getting worse and I couldn't stand on it. Again I was helped quick. My GP concluded that he didn't agree with the specialists in the hospital and wanted me to go and see the specialist again. He picked up the phone himself and called the specialist directly in the hospital. The specialist argued that I just need to see a fysio but this answer wasn't good enough. My GP insisted that they have to reassess and a couple days later I have an appointment again. Now for Dutch standards this kind of personally help is rare and it is what sets this health-center apart from other GP offices. Only negative: the main entrance is not accessible by car, so in this case and not being able to walk was a bit of an issue.

I was at first confused that my doctor at Valeriusplein does not give me a prescription to take here to a) know what to ask for and b) get what is prescribed to me. I have only come here twice when it is busy and I've had to use the "meat counter" numbered ticket queuing system and about 4 times when I did not have to wait at all. The system seems to work well and they often have more than one staff member on a counter if busy. A few times I have taken around 10-20 minutes from the doctors to the pharmacy and they seem to not be able to find my prescription on the system but it tends to get there in the end and the staff are pleasant and helpful. This helps when you arrive fresh and don't speak much Dutch and need to ask for information. The shelves seem quite bare and I admit I go to Etos or Albert Heijn for more everyday items. It's no Boots but they always have what I need; I've never had to go somewhere else or come back the next day.

word of warning... be prepared to wait here! but they do have a machine you can pull numbers from…read more this place is a busy pharmacy all the time or else i would give it 5 stars but they do have a gratis water machine to get nice cold or luke warm water from. there's seating also available. the place looks very futuristic with it's modern space like interior and shelving system but then there's a big large real tree stuck right in the middle of the place! everytime i've come here to drop off a prescription it's always been ready for me at drop off. although i've always had very main stream prescriptions to be filled, something i'm sure they always have in stock. to be honest the only reason why i come here is because my doc is literally right next door. but i really have no complaints about this place except for how busy it gets. staff is friendly enough but always rushed for obvious reasons.
