There were some jaw dropping moments when things were unlocked. The execution was top notch. The theme was consistent through the game and we felt like we were part of a story. I highly recommend this room! I've done 40, and I would say this is in my top 5 favorite rooms. Not to mention it is in a several hundred year old building. The story from the beginning set up the room so well, adding to the authenticity and feel of the room. We were a bit late but the worker was really nice about it and even though we lost (I'd ask for clues if you need them), he let us finish it out. If you have the GoCity Pass which is basically a bunch of stuff for a fixed price, this place is absolutely worth it. I'm not going to spoil too much here so that you can experience it yourself, but basically you can take the bus to this industrial park in Amsterdam. It looks abandoned but it is absolutely the right place once you arrive. There's this bar you can get drinks with before you enter, and eventually your name/group gets called and you take part in AMAZE. That's all I'll say about it. The whole experience takes about 1-2 hours depending on how long you stay at that "one part". You need to be aware that if you have epilepsy, avoid this attraction. Overall, go for yourself. You won't regret it.

First and foremost, I have to give credit to all the cast members working in each of the different "rooms" who really give it their all, even if it's a bit cringey, and even if the crowd response is awkward. I used to work the Halloween events at Eastern State Penitentiary, so I know what it's like to interact with the public with varying levels of response or enthusiasm. Having said that, it is a little bit corny and not my general cup of tea. If you like the amusement park sort of vibe (that's horror themed) then this will be a short, fun excursion. A couple jump scares, sometimes they will ask you to participate in small roles. No wheelchair access, and disabled may have a bit of trouble in some sections. Several stairs, dark and cramped passageways, etc. The cast is there to guide you for the most part, but you may definitely get "stuck" in a couple places.

It was not a fright-fest, nor was it gruesome... it was humorous, though some might say in poor taste, or even tasteless. The stories centers around old Amsterdam loosely. The costuming and makeup aren't half-bad. No real history lessons to speak of. You pose for several pictures that they want to sell ya at, I believe, 15 a pop. It is DEFINITELY a tourist trap, but one that may come in handy to break up the day with a bit of comic relief, especially if in a group, since there is the likelihood of at least one of you being called to the stage. I was burned at the stake as a witch & another in our group of 4 had the pleasure of being castrated. No cameras allowed, all electronic devices off.

You have to know what to expect when travelling in Europe; most hotels are smaller in every way and not as equiped as in the US. Room: the room my wife and I stayed in was a larger room with 4 beds, ( #208) all singles but we chose this room for the size in comparison to what else was available. It was modern, plenty of outlets, lighting was plentiful and bedding was very comfortable. . We also chose this room because it had elevator access, be fore warned - not all rooms do!!! if you have to take the stairs be ready, they are extremely small , steep and very windy- good luck if you have to cart bags up there as there are not staff available to assist! Bathroom; the bathroom was modern and adequately equipped although it wasn't without some noticeable design flaws; 1) they have placed a shelf over the wash basins that stuck out too far, you will whack your head if you're not careful if bending down towards the basin , not to mention it's almost impossible to wash your face with your hands as you'll get water all over the floor, you literally have to bend your neck and get your head in under the shelf to do that?? 2) there is a step up going into the bathroom that you have to be careful otherwise your trip or stub your toe. 3) the shower is modern but extremely small and there's no closure door , because the area is so small even if you bury yourself into the corner of the shower while showering water goes outside of the shower and all over the floor? If you're accustomed to having breakfast earlier in the morning Amsterdam literally has no places open until around 10 AM, the hotel does offer a nice continental breakfast which I highly recommend as an alternative: scrambled eggs, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, toast a decent automatic coffee machine etc.. it hit the spot . If you want a great lunch or dinner make sure you go to Café Pazzo right outside the hotel to right, he also served superb coffee. All in all a nice place to stay: perfectly located , modern, not fancy but extremely comfortable, clean and the staff were nice and accommodating- I would definitely stay here again and would have rated it a 4.5 if I could, deducted a star because of the bathroom situation. *Free wifi *Free luggage storage

There is a pool table for when you really need to get away from your computer, and coffee and tea available at all times. There are different types of spaces depending on your need.
