We stopped in before this Amazon Go location closed its doors for good. First of all, I needed to open my Amazon app to get in. I was really curious as to how I could shop and walk out without scanning and paying at a checkout. Apparently, there are cameras and shelves are weighted, supposedly. If something is removed, it's assumed that I was purchasing it. There were helpful employees ready to answer questions, and they offered free reusable bags for me to use. I walked out with a few things and a receipt was emailed to me hours later. I was also able to see the itemized receipt on my Amazon purchase history. There was a minor mistake on the receipt for some taco seasoning that I was charged for since I picked it up to look at, but put it back without purchasing. Not a big deal since I got other items on sale. It was an interesting concept overall. read more

When this sounds great & seems convenient, I feel the same as Rick S. re: ID surrender & biometrics for tracking & data capture. Payment options vary by individual store. They include: Amazon app, Amazon One, credit card, cash or SNAP/EBT (these options require a store employee to process). The convenience store welcomes everyone, even if you're not a Prime member or don't an Amazon account. If everyone includes kids, who's checking the ID if you buy alcohol? Is it the same as the entry; scan your Amazon app or Amazon One? Knowing some teen miscreants, they might try to figure on how to use the parents' info so they can buy booze. I've been here a few times, mainly to drop-off my manager's Amazon returns, & only made 1 purchase (ICEE for my 8 YO) prior to the current Amazon One kiosk/technology that scans your palm; I don't have an Amazon account & was required to scan my cc before I was able to enter the store. "Just Walk Out" technology allows you to shop like normal, except you skip the traditional checkout/register. My main concern is how accurately are you being charged since traditional grocery stores have made errors, especially with sale items or if you changed your mind & put something back. I would assume Amazon Go will also offer sales to entice more traffic flow. With this convenient check-out, how likely are you going to review the receipt & how accurate is this technology? If you shopped with your Amazon app, or a cc saved to an Amazon account, you'll receive an email when the receipt is ready. If you shopped with a cc, you can look up your receipt at: amazon.com/receipts. If you're a traditionalist, you supposedly can flag a store employee upon entry for them to open the gate for you. "Just Walk Out" is so advanced that you can shop with others. Just scan or swipe in once, then enter the gate together. Any items grabbed by you or your party that entered with you will be charged to the payment source used to open the gate. I'm sure this has been beta-tested, but what if someone squeezes in behind you/your group? That's the paranoid skeptic in me, & I will wait/watch the gate close behind me before I go about shopping. What if this person behind you is quick, comes in right after you & grabs whatever is closest to the exit & takes off? I'm not a regular shopper (& don't intend to), mainly using this store for returns, so my review may not be helpful to those "on the go" that love this techy convenience. read more

First ever visit,....it's a bit awkward; you have to either open the amazon app on your cell or put in a credit card to enter the place. The place is small and seems not quite like a store but more like a movie set that supposed to represent a store. Amazon has been my go to place to pickup and do my returns. Until today, First let me start by saying, the staff is wonderful and always have a great attitude. The customer service is outstanding and they always greet me with a smile. So after going there for a year or so. I was for sure they close at 10 o clock. Not because I seen a sign but because I went to their website. But to my surprise, after driving from Gardena to Torrance to find out they close at 9 o'clock. Now let me remind you there is no sign visible to the eye, showing their store hours. Let me remind you I wasn't the only person there, surprise by there hours. So what bothered me the most is that there is no sign visible for anyone one to see. Like I said I've been going to this location for a year or so and I never seen a sign showing their store hours. Maybe it's just me but I don't ever want to travel anywhere without knowing the times of a location hours of operation and for that I hope that they will receive this review as a way of improving the way they display their store hours. I arrived at 7:57 p.m., prior to the posted closing time of 8:00 p.m. As I was getting out of my car, the female employee closed the door and stated that they were closed. I responded that there were still three minutes remaining before closing and that I just had an Amazon return, which she heard, but she did not offer a professional response or closing remark. The male employee working at the time heard her and knew I was trying to get inside before 8:00 pm and also did not assist me. They just both walked away without saying sorry or anything. Despite having no customers present, both employees chose to stop service before the official closing time. I love this place. I can drop off my returns and get a few things with a discount after. The only thing I've seen that I did not like is that Shon works the food counter he doesn't change his gloves when stepping out (I've seen this on 2 occasions). I was returning stuff and the person at the return counter asked Shon for help, he came from the food counter to help with gloves that he had on to prep food. Did the returns and went back to the food counter with the same gloves!!!! Mind you he had to touch the scanner that I'm sure doesn't get cleaned, the stuff people are brining in to return. Amazon Go is a mini mart/fast food joint created the image of Amazon's signature uber hi tech design. You need an Amazon account to enter. Luckily I had one so once I let them scan my palm I was allowed in. At first glance, the place looked much like a 7 eleven. That is until you look up and see dozens and dozens of sensors mounted on the ceiling keeping their electronic eyes on you. I quickly overcame the creepy feeling of being monitored...well I was hungry and came to Amazon Go to grab some food. Grab was the best way I could describe my buying experience at Amazon Go. You literally just "grab" the stuff you want and walk out. Like magic you will get your receipt once you leave. So how do you know how much you will be charged for your potato chips, donuts and sandwich or whatever you have the munchies for? Well you don't, at least not until you walk out of Amazon Go and receive your email receipt. As of this writing, I finished my purchase at Amazon Go about 2 hours ago and still haven't gotten my receipt. I don't know about you but I like to know my total right away, even if I decided that I don't need the receipt. LIke I said above, I went to get some food. I tried their made to order Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich and Sausage Breakfast Burrito with Avocado. I got to admit, all three were sufficiently tasty for a fast food quick bite kinda place. The $1.50 extra to add avocado to the Breakfast Burrito I thought was a bit high. The Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich should just be called Spicy Chicken sandwich because there wasn't any crispness to it at all. The chicken in the Bacon Ranch Chicken Sandwich was a bit over cooked. This Amazon Go makes returns and exchanges for orders made on Amazon super easy to do. While you're at the store you can also grab a soda, snack oe sandwhich very easily and the prices are generally reasonable for this kind of convenience store. When you do returns they usually give you a coupon for $2 off a $5 or more purchase. The staff is also helpful. The staff vibe in the store is clean, organized and contemporary. I stopped by Amazon Go to make an Amazon return. I timed it so I could get coffee and breakfast while there. It's so convenient and I love their quick coffee and food options. If you don't use the Amazon app, there's a physical person who can help you check in and out. They have the best coffee machine that makes excellent lattes and cappuccinos, which you can also customize with oat milk. I also got a egg bowl with ham, cheese, and spinach, which you order on the kiosk and they make for you on the spot. The sandwiches looked more satisfying but I have dietary restrictions right now so it was perfect. They also had so many fresh and healthy snacks, as well as donuts and stuff like that. My only gripe is that I would love one closer to the 405 entrance on Crenshaw, I think they would do SO well around there. I am still a tad wary of how, when you enter the store and have to surrender your ID and a form of payment in advance of shopping, that now ICW (in conjunction with) that data capture and tracking, there's now a request for a Hand Palm Imaging biometric identification. I also am too lazy or busy to check the charges they automate as you just leave and exit. They should push out an immediate alert via email or text or maybe at the point of purchase at the store itself on a display as an option to confirm charges and prices (in the event of a sale or being overcharged) This is a bit too trusting of technology in today's paranoia of "big brother" watching and technology tracking, capturing data and remarketing / using personal information (like my buying Diarrhea Medication 3x a week year round or too many Donuts against my doctor's advice to control my Diabetes as examples of consumer behavior data that might come back to haunt or embarrass you). It's a decent store and staff are friendly. They really need to utilize the staff in an engaging way beyond having to continually explain the shopping and payment process to skeptical or confused walk-ins. I finally had a chance to visit this store with a friend the other day and it was pretty interesting. First, I swiped my credit card so I could enter the place. Then I was told later that there are lots of camera's above you that track your movements as soon as you enter - that's how Amazon knows what you're buying and what to charge you for. And does it work? For the most part. I picked up an item and put it back but because I didn't put it back correctly, Amazon thought I wanted to purchase it and charged me. I had to go back to the store and, after about 10 mins I got my money back, so that was super smooth. But this system can be flawed, just FYI. They carry a decent amount of items - From ramen, chips, popcorn, candies, and other snacks, to over the counter drugs like Advil, Benadryl, Mucinex and Tums, to canned drinks such as Coca Cola, AHA, and Sprite, to ready-to-eat items such as sandwiches, burritos, sushi, and salads. There's even a frozen section full of microwavable meals and ice bags. There is a hot foods section filled with breakfast sandwiches and pizzas, an area where you can grab some coffee or tea, and a slushie machine that makes this place seem more like a mega 7-Eleven....without the rotating hot dogs on display of course. If grabbing a hot meal from the hot foods section isn't appealing, they have a section in the back where you can order food. Tbh I have been both curious and frightened to come here. I'm the type of shopper who likes to pick up items, read the ingredients and then put them back. What if I get charged if it isn't back in the right place?? Yesterday I put my fears aside and decided to bring my return item and head over. Entering is super easy if you have the code on your Amazon app. The lady at returns was so friendly and I got a $3 off $10 purchase coupon. Since I was on my way to work I decided to use it to buy my breakfast. I got a chia seed pudding, a fancy yogurt, and kombucha on tap. The chia seed pudding was bleh but the yogurt was delicious and I'm never going back to bottled kombucha ever again. I normally don't like Health Aide kombucha but the pink lady flavored on tap was sooooo refreshing and yummy The store was super clean and everything is well organized. Great concept, poor execution. Seems to have gone downhill since it opened. Small but decent selection of food and small household items. Problem is they're often out of a lot of products. Relatively clean and organized. Decent coffee and kombucha bar. The customized soda fountain would be cool if they kept the syrups stocked. Where it gets really ugly is their contactless point of sale concept. It's not full proof by any means. I was charged for items that I picked up but put back. Because I didn't receive a receipt until later in the evening via email, I didn't realize it at the time. I subsequently contacted Amazon and spent 20 minutes in the phone, only to be told that I would have to return to the store to clear up the matter. I had The Cuban sandwich and asked the guy to cut it in half - the sandwich was good but wasn't quite cut in half as requested. I also purchased a refrigerated Pepperoni Pizza that I later popped into the oven at home. It was better than most store-bought refrigerated pizzas but not as good as a pie that I could get at a pizzeria, no surprise there. I wanted to buy some fruit, but the selection was limited, and the little that was there was in plastic cups prepared in the city of Vernon, as are most of the pre-prepared sandwiches and foods. In general, if I were in the area, I wouldn't mind stopping here, but I wouldn't go too far out of my way. I was excited to see there was a new Amazon Go in town. It had recently just opened up and was curious how it was. I checked it out on the very first Saturday it was open. The concept seems great; you walk in, grab and go and no need to wait in line or deal with cashiers. Seems easy right? Well not quite at least for the first time. For a first timer myself; the Amazon Go proved to be a bit more confusing than I thought. When you enter; there are gate entrances where you put in a credit card (It reminded me of the train stations in Japan where you swipe you in an IC card). There wasn't anyone by the gate to greet or explain nor was there any pasteboard explaining (I guess it makes sense no one was there as it is supposed to be a easy "grab and go" spot.) It's set up very much like a convenience store. There's snacks, drinks and coffee. There is also a area where you can place an order for freshly made food like wraps, bowls and sandwiches. In this area there is kiosks where you can place your order and put your name in. I chose to get a breakfast burrito there ($4.99) and also chose to get a coffee ($2.99) at the coffee counter. Service at the area where they make the breakfast burritos and sandwiches was ok but they could be slightly friendlier. I asked to get my breakfast burrito cut in half and was a bit bluntly told they always do this but lo and behold I got a breakfast burrito that was not cut and half. I also had a coupon for free coffee and was confused on how exactly to apply the coupon or where and so I found another Amazon associate to help me. This Amazon associate was friendlier in terms of service. It turns out I had to scan the QR code on the coupon and add it to my Amazon wallet (Hmm no one ever explained you need an Amazon account to use the coupons and I wonder what would happen if I had no Amazon account?). Soon after I added the coupon; I was ready to go. I grabbed my burrito and coffee and was off to get my day started! It seemed simple and seemed easy, except when 2 days later I saw a my credit card got charged twice for the burrito. I honestly don't understand how I got charged twice. I only picked up the burrito once. All in all the concept of Amazon Go is cool but for newbies it is very confusing. I am usually pretty good with apps and tech but the first time experience still proved to be a weird one and hated that I got charged twice. After the first visit I was a bit paranoid to go back because I didn't to get duplicate charges again. My aunt and uncle wanted to check this place out however a few days later and so I ended up going back with them. This time there were digital signs in place explaining the process as well as an employee up front who also explained. Second go around was much more smoother :). Great little store if you're in a pinch! On the way to work? They have the coffee. On the way home? They have the hot dogs. Going on a far drive? They have the snacks. Have a hungry dog in the car? They have the milkbones. Oh, a hungry cat too? The purina is there. Pens, charging cables, cleaning supplies, icees; there's nothing this place won't have! I finally made it out to the new Amazon Go while I was running errands today. A super nice employee was entering the building when I was so he helped me scan my code to enter. Everything looks like it could be a camera to me so I didn't know where to scan my Amazon code thing. Anyway, I went in specifically to get a breakfast sandwich. There's a long food counter at the back of the store where you can get made-to-order breakfasts, sandwiches, salads, avo toast, etc. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese which I ordered on a tablet and walked around the store. It's a pretty small store, much like a 7-11 like other reviewers mentioned, but there are some more "higher end" products than your standard convenience store. Something that caught my eye was that they cold brew and kombucha on tap. Fancy! I will definitely try both next time. My sandwich was ready in less than 5 min and I quickly devoured my sandwich. I thought it was pretty good considering it was $3.99 and quickly made. Overall, it's a cool experience and if I lived closer to the location, I'd visit more often. I finally went there today. SO COOL. You need the app to enter, then score the top till you see 'In store code, now scan to get in. I posted the pictures. It's like a 7-11 but with better prices and a full grill. They have surprises and the soda machine that gives you 100s of choosest. They also have cold brew & kambucha, which I want to try. So you shop with a free Amazon bag and then when your done, 'LEAVE'. They have sensors that tells them what they need to know, you get the receipt emailed to you or you can look it up on the app. I went to 7-11 and they charged me $14, Amazon was $8. Plus it was cool. This Amazon chain store which has already been in Seattle for years has finally made its way to Los Angeles. Its coolest feature is contact-less shopping, which lets you grab whatever you want and leave without checking out. The atmosphere is basically a high-end 7-Eleven, although it feels clean and there are nice attendants on-site. You can also pick-up/return your Amazon purchases here which can be handy if you use Amazon often. I will mention that the Seattle stores are slightly more upscale and include more Whole Foods items. So I've been back a few times since my initial review. Once for drinks and snacks and once for a breakfast sandwich. I have to say the breakfast sandwich is pretty good. The brioche bun is toasted nicely and the inside is soft and buttery. The bacon is nice and decent thickness. The downfall again is the egg product, you know the instant type. I think I tasted cheese in there too. Overall, a perfectly acceptable and satisfying breakfast sandwich. Main reason I'm bumping this up to 4 stars. As for the snack visit, the drink options are great and the candy and chip selection pretty impressive for what it is. We got an icee also, which is one price regardless of size but they were out of the dome lids for some reason. Lastly, I have to give credit for how clean the place remains to be. They're doing a good job with that. Feels nice. Cleaner than my house, which maybe isn't saying a lot. read more

This is a small little connivence store if you are in need of a quick snack/meal. It's a little unnerving that you can literally grab what you want and just walk out but that is their premise. The workers have been very helpful, especially when I went in for the first time and did not know how to enter (you need a prime account to enter). I have ordered food here a couple of times and it's okay at best. I personally just grab their mini pizzas when I need a quick meal. read more

I seriously felt like a thief! I just happened to be in this parking lot on my way out of hobby lobby and see this Amazon Go store I haven't seen before. Well curiosity got me so I stopped to check it out. I'm a newbie so I just walk in clueless and was greeted by a gate. What do I do? Luckily there was a worker standing there and probably saw how lost I was. He instructed me to open my amazon app and then go to the IN-STORE CODE section. There I was presented with my QR code that I can scan to go into the store. Bam! I'm IN! Apparently between all of Amazons technological tracking, it will know when and what you pick up and again what you leave with. I was instructed by the worker that if I picked anything up and decided I didn't want it, to make sure to put it back in the exact same location that I got it from. I didn't test that out, but I did HAVE to buy something. The place was cool with all sorts of goodies like a small convenience store. Mostly geared towards snacks and food but they also had some other common amenities. To my surprise they actually had a cafe of sorts with things you can order from actual live people like sandwiches n stuff. I'm sure that may change over time. I'd really like to see a robot make me a sandwich. They also have a 21 and older section with alcohol around the corner of the registers. In the end, I opted to get a beer and some chips just to test this out. As I had my items, I walked by the exit and the door just automatically opened. They did have registers there but I guess those are just for emergencies? I kinda stared at the 1 floor worker there and he said, you're good to go. So I just left. So weird but also kinda cool. Once I left, the system did in fact email me my itemized receipt which also contained total time spent in the store and other info. Pretty cool, but also pretty scary I thought. I'm sure cameras were tracking my every move and sensors were monitoring all my actions. I guess thats required but it just reminded me that skynet is taking over sooner than I envisioned. Oh well, privacy not really a thing in todays technological world. I'll probably be back for some goodies. read more

Good grab and go type location and it's cool you can get things and there's no cashier. Just pick up what you want and it will be charged to your Amazon account. Even if you pick up something and put it back, it won't be charged. You can also do Amazon returns here as well. Just they need more staff to do those. They even have fresh food items prepared there so it's also a good place to grab a sandwich, coffee, etc. It would be nice if they had more selection. read more

Walked in not really knowing what to expect. Just wanted to check out what the hype was about. A 5 star for ample parking! When we first walked in, we were greeted by a friendly gal. We had to scan our Amazon app before we could shop. Looks a lot like a convenience store. They have a space to the left of the store where you could pick up Alcohol. In the back is the deli where you could order sandwiches off of a tablet. The middle of the store had small aisles for everything from paper goods, to cleaning products, snacks, etc. Cameras tracking your every move. They sold some "365 (Whole Foods)" products that are a bit higher in price than Whole Foods. I guess you're paying for the quick stop (get in- get out) experience. Their wine selection was average & more expensive than Whole Foods or BevMo. Overall, the employees were friendly, parking was great- but it's just a high end convenience store. read more

Quick and easy. They always have sales on items throughout the store. Store is very clean and plenty of parking. The coffee and espresso is made from these machines and they use Starbucks coffee beans. Monday has a coffee deal but even without the deal it's good quality and cheaper then you local Starbucks. They have hot breakfast and sandwiches. Plenty of quick eats and snacks. I like this place better then 711. They even have a slurpy machine and fountain soda machine. Give it a try all you need is a Amazon account and payment on file. read more
