One of the best reptile stores I've been too. Lots of stock and was the only place that had regular meal worms and I think what my bro calls "mega worms" within a reasonable driving distance. Many scaled friends to look at and I thought it was pretty cute that some of them had names and labels on the tanks, especially the tortoises that were "learning how to flip back over". They also had hamsters and guinea pigs (a hairless one too!). We only got live food, but there's lots of supplies here too and the workers were all super helpful and nice. When my brother's leopard gecko wasn't eating, he got lots of tips and advice that removed all of his worries. Worth the stop if you are a reptile owner or just love cold blooded friends!

I absolutely love this store. I got my rescue beardie from them, and all my supplies. I love their insects always good quality and great prices. The staff is knowledgeable and makes sure you are always helped. I would and I do recommend this place to everyone. I wish they had another store closer to me in Covina but I appreciate them to the fullest.

PRO-TIP: Slight discount if you pay with cash!…read more A MUST for any reptile or exotics keeper in the area, especially if you own lizards! I visited here before, years ago, but this was before I kept lizards myself, and now coming back, I was delightfully surprised to see that they have upgraded immensely and modernized. Everything is super clean and sleek looking! Honestly very refreshing since, no offense, many other reptile stores are a bit more aged and cluttered. The set up of the enclosures are a delight to look at! Alright, I don't want to be a hater to the other reptile shops, but AT MOST, the fanciest thing you're going to see is MAYBE a uromastyx, but I was SO EXCITED to see the reptiles that they had here. Like, yes they have bearded dragons and geckos too, but it's not PILES of them and they have much fancier morphs. That black red monster beardie that they have is gorgeous. However, I got to see full grown, inquisitive ackie monitors, an Asian water monitor, Leachies that aren't over $1k, various tree monitors, a Baron's Racer, lovely fire skinks, Kimberly rock monitors, a Gidgee skink (NFS), etc. I have seen some of these ONLY at zoos, reptile shows, or the East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley (the oldest reptile store in the nation). So for the Basking Spot to have these species is a huge testament to the shop's dedication to the craft and hobby. I got my questions answered and I can see that the community loves shopping here. Proper husbandry and breeding practices (as you can see from the fire skinks they have, not the easiest to breed) and responsible ownership, we love to see it! ALSO, it is almost impossible for me to find wax worms, let alone silk worms in person as feeders for my lizards. Sometimes my local pet store has the wax worms and it's a hit and miss if I go to IE and can find silk worms. I GOT BOTH HERE! And the worker was nice enough to carefully pick them out so they weren't pupated yet, thank you! The shop is a bit farther for me, but I will come back 100%!!

You wanna see some dragons?…read more You GOTTA got to the Reptile Lounge. If their logo didn't make it obvious, the amount of sailfin dragons here is INSANE. Easily the most I have seen in one place and the MOST different species as well. Even zoos don't have this many, let alone with this much diversity. I want to even venture and say this might be the most you can see outside of Asia (don't quote me though). Aside from that, they have a good variety of reptiles on display (NFS - not for sale, either shop reptiles or until they become more established) and for sale, as well as some amphibians (I saw some Pacman frogs and even Budgett's frogs - look at videos of these guys screaming, it's so cute). Lots of supplies too including bioactive builds, kits, lights, supplements, food, dishes, climbs and hides, live plants, and much more. I LOVE that the feeder fridge is self serve so you can select your cup of worms. AND I feel like this is an exotics keeper thing that will freak out normies, but it's in the same fridge as the cans of soda. I got a good chuckle out of this. Love the emerald tree skinks that I saw here, super cute and lively. Their basilisk lizard looks so cool too. Like a mini dinosaur and not many shops or zoos have these guys too. However, if you're in the market for more beginner or common pet reptiles, they have those too, some beardies, leopard and crested geckos too. Owner and workers were very friendly, answered my questions, and gave me some really cool stickers of their logo as well. Definitely will come back for feeders and maybe one day meet the shop cats and maybe hold one of their sailfin dragons too!
