Time passes by! The last time I was at this hotel was when I first left school and I haven't been…read morethere since...I don't know why! A meeting place for two parties on the spur of the moment. I said "Let's meet at the Bull and Bush Hotel!" What a pleasant surprise. The front of the hotel is glassed in which is a a great bistro offering a good range of reasonably, priced, large meals. The hotel was quite busy but we found a table for 7 and ordered our meals while the beer started flowing...then the wine. Bottles of house wine ranged from $20 -$25, and the blend was smooth and accompanied the meal very well. Then we had drinks in the courtyard after the meal. An excellent DJ was playing a good selection of hard rock music. The attire was tee shirts and shorts..and you had to be holding a schooner. Anyway what a lively place. Through to the back of the hotel a live band was playing and this was the third band that night. This is definitely a meeting place for the future.

I guess the porch really did it for me - one of those newer pubs that deliberately created a porch where patrons could sit at with a beer in hand and either chat, or read a book if they are like me. We experienced rude wait staff and was miss- rung up for our bill. However, to Rocksia's credit the manager did come over to offer a free drink to my BF's Aunt which helped to ease the hard feelings. The EATS...HUGE portions. I ordered the Chicken Schnitzel and chips and had enough to take home for lunch the next day. Another plus is that Rocksia does promotions like saving your receipt vouchers for the next time you come, 2 for 1 meals. All in all a pretty decent joint and good value.

This is a nice big old pub with numerous areas to drink and eat including my favourite "no kids" area with big comfy lounges, fireplace and big windows letting lots of sun in. 3 Weeds seems to be a place for the locals as there were lots of groups. For food I shared the meats and cheese platter which I was a bit disappointed with as it only came with 1 type of cheese and no fruit. I did however enjoy my sirloin steak with a delicious garden salad topped with balsamic vinegar. I usually dislike pub side salads but this was a winner.

This Hotel is on my top 10 Sydney pubs, it's big with plenty of choices with wine, craft & normal beers and heaps of spirits on offer. The staff are friendly & genuinely enjoying working there, they are helpful and don't mind some witty banter. Now ..... the food ..... it's pricey... but soooooo yummy ..... they have moved up a level in both senses...... Awesome new eatery upstairs including full renovations on surrounding balcony as well as food standards & quality ...... if you want to hit the next level then I'm afraid you have to crave it first and then be happy to pay that price. I know I do ..... and will start making it a regular.

So a vegetarian burger can be more expensive than the meat/fish/chicken option which is ludicrous. The food is OK. The service is OK. Wine by the glass is expensive. Above it is a non smoking are but with smoke rising even upstairs is like being in one of those airport smoking rooms. Food isn't bad and they have a good range of beers on tap. Wine list looks okay but prices are basically double what you'd pay at the bottle shop for the same wine. If they reduced the smokers area instead of centring the pub around it would have been so much better!

I don't think this is the 7th best restaurant in sydney and I'm not sure what website my dad found but either way we ate here for a sunday night We ordered several tapas, potatoes, prawns, some rustic sourdough, mushrooms and paella. We opted not to get chorizo because we were advised that chorizo would be in the paella but if you see my photos they were not there... nor were there any prawns in it which surprised me. Anyway what's more disappointing was the service. I'm not sure if the waitress was new but she knew the menu but was just not in the game mentally. She forgot to get us tap water. Forgot one of the orders. Forgot to remind the kitchen we had 6 people (gave us 5 prawns when we asked for servings for 6) Forgot to get us sangria. Geez im not sure if it was just that day but seeing we paid about 35pp including drinks i thought it was reasonable but the lasting impression was the poor service. This place changed this for me. This place offers mains and Spanish tapas, I was keen to go mains and not share but the majority ruled and one person ordered.. Now another thing I'm not a fan of!!! But! Man they did a good job. We started off with the Spanish chorizo in this incredible sauce that amazing tangy flavours! Then came out the potato and cheese croqets. Then scallops and prawns and beautiful woodfired cheese and bread mmmmm after a few rounds of that out came a pulled pork paella yep. By the end I was so full but oh so satisfied! After washing it down with a few tasty Spanish beers. Heaven. It was getting late so thought to have dessert there as well. And what do you have at a Spanish restaurant? Churro! Come on! Ok. Don't get the churro they were rubbish. Like really bad. But that tells you how good the rest of meal was it still got 4 massive starts. I was even thinking 5.. The service we great! One guy was serving us the whole time, he was very helpful and made sure we understood everything that was coming to our table. The only thing he got wrong was he said the churro's were really yum! Not cheap about $50pp full on eating experience but I think that it's pretty worth it for fun night out with good people, might as well marry that up with tasty as foood!!
