They came out quick and were the most thorough place I called to get us a quote. Everyone has been friendly along the way especially Trish in the front office. They got our ac installed in a day and a half and it has worked great. They also weren't price gouging like most of the other ac people in the area. I would recommend. read more

On Monday I had Ambient come and look at my furnace, it was not heating but blowing air. The tech diagnosed at the furnace as a failed heat exchange (oxidation - aka rusted). He then said it would be better if I bought a new furnace. The quote he got to me was for about $4000. He said they do not replace the broken part and I would be better off purchasing a new furnace. Fast forward to today When I called Air Controls and Jeff showed up to my door on time. He spent the time to look at voltage and air temperature. Jeff found that the furnace gas pressure was too high for the altitude and made the furnace run hot. He put in a $5 air filter that had less air restriction and my house is warm. I will never use the vendor again and will tell anyone who wants to here about my experience. Follow up: I called Ambient asking for a refund and I spoke to Jim. Jim did not want to give me a refund and argued with me about the work his tech Logan did. I am not happy with this. If you need work on your furnace, do NOT use this company. read more

A service call was done on Christmas Eve 2019 To Ambient Air Solutions. Two employees came into the home to access the gas furnace as it stopped working. They were shown the furnace and the burnt wiring connecting to the gas regulator. There was also evidence of blow-back on the gas jets that caused the wiring to melt and char. Blow-back within the furnace is the result of further problems within the furnace such as a cracked heat exchanger. The two employees restarted the furnace and recommended that we get a new one. They left without doing anything to the furnace or recommending that we shut it down. They did nothing about the wiring and left it in the current condition in which it was found. Melted and Charred. The employees also misdiagnosed one of the gas jets as fully functional when it was only operating at 25%. They also left the furnace running with the gas and electricity on. It was running when they left. The blow-back could have done further damage such as starting the wiring on fire which could have caused the house to burn down and possibly injuring or killing the occupants. As a Journeyman Electrician, if I found a safety item such as this, I would immediately take if off line in order to preserve life. The two employees did no such thing. .This is a major violation on anyone's books. They should know better. I talked with the Service Manager and all he could do was apologize for the work, or in this case the lack of work. He did not offer to refund the service fee, which would have been the proper thing to do. It is my opinion that this company should be avoided for any type of work. read more

If you're a rich out-if-stater with a multimillion dollar home and a BMW, this is the company for you. They answer their phone, show up on time and complete repairs in a professional way. However, if you make less than six figures, you'll need to take on a second job to keep your pipes from freezing. Ambient Air advertises for Bozeman and surrounding areas. What they neglect to state is that service and diagnostic fees outside the city limits (Ennis, for example) will cost over $300 - in addition to parts and labor - and nearly $800 if it's an emergency you can't wait months to fix. We had to postpone our repairs for five weeks, during sweltering summer heat, to avoid the worst of their outlandish charges. They then replaced a capacitor in our air conditioning system and a thermocouple in our furnace, at a cost of over $1200. Two days later the system went down again. Ambient Air made it clear to us, in no uncertain terms, that consideration would not be given for their recent repairs or service charges. In fact, we were treated with cavalier indifference and utter disregard. In all fairness, our system is old and the part that failed wasn't one they worked on. However, for the diagnostic fee we were charged, a more thorough check should have been in order. Of course, Ambient Air would gladly sell us a new system, to the tune of $5000-$10,000, to help us avoid paying a $300 service charge every week. I wonder if that's called consideration - or hostage taking. read more

( 3 owners all having Yahoo and Google accounts BUT due to the apology Ambient is on the recommendation list again. Here is what I found on the Web: Our deepest apology from all here at Ambient. We have been too focused on our bottom line that we have forgotten the customer. And yes due to the lack of knowledge of the home owner we in fact would install items that costs less. Ambient has taken a new stance---reprimand those who were involved.... We now have a new policy in effect for integrity above all else and respect for the home owners instructions. Colleen set us up with a yearly contact which has been wonderful not having to worry about our heat and air conditioning. Logan came out as scheduled, with a phone call a little early asking if he could show up earlier. He was very professional and fixed our minor air conditioning problem in minutes. I was charged $1000 to "fix" some electrical issues to my furnace. A day and a half later no heat and its -20 out. I probably have some frozen pipes now thanks to them. They won't pick up the phone now either. I'd suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Colleen the office manager was not friendly when I requested service. Ambient installed my air conditioner system in September 2014. The unit never shuts off, the air upstairs continually runs. We continue to have the same problem this for summer 2015. Colleen seemed reluctant to schedule a service visit and was not friendly when I requested to have someone come see it. Someone was sent to look at the unit and they needed to make some changes to the system. I was given the option of Saturday to fix the unit but we had family in town so I asked for a different day. Nicolas said the office would call me with an appointment. I did not hear from them by 3:00pm the next day and told them I have not heard from them regarding scheduling an appointment. Colleen said I refused the Saturday appointment and they are moving people around to fit me in. I tried to explain that my family was in town from Texas and we would prefer not to sit at home all day on Saturday because they live on Monday. She said she would call me back with an appointment. She called me back an hour later and set the appointment for Thursday. I said, you really need to work with me on scheduling this appointment because you need to find what works best for me and not set the appointment without checking with me. She became angry and said it will be a long time before I can get an appointment. I told her that i felt she had a problem with me is there someone else I could speak to that is her boss. She gleefully said she was the boss. I asked if she were the owner, she answered no. I said I would like to speak to the owner, she said she was not going to give the information to me. I continued to press to speak to the owner and she hung up on me. I found Jimmy's and Garrett's email and requested someone to call me to set the appointment. Jimmy called me back the same day and set the appointment. I asked him why Colleen could not have done this so easily than being difficult setting a schedule without checking with mine. He said he did not know and I felt he defended her behavior. He said they will deal with it. The owner has not called me to discuss what happened with Colleen. I do not appreciate how I was treated by their staff. I definitely do not want to call to schedule in services with their office because I will have to deal with their rude office manager. I am shocked by her behavior and stunned the owners did not call to resolve this issue. read more
