We were only checked on once during the entire meal. Although staff walked past our table repeatedly, no one offered drink refills or asked whether we wanted dessert. They never smiled, seemed irritated, and gave the impression that they did not want to be there. Their attitude made the experience feel uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Even after our table was completely cleared, we waited another five full minutes without anyone bringing the check or acknowledging us. I finally had to get up and pay at the register on my way out. We have been to Isla 7 or 8 times now. Have tried so many places it feels like we have eaten at more places that we have not. Not too many places have we gone to that when we left, we say we will be back here. This is that place. Exceptional food, authentic tasting Italian food in Isla. Dan (husband of the owner team) came and visited with us a couple times. You can tell he loves the place as much as anyone. Next time we come down from Washington, we will be back, probably multiple times.
