She informed me that the service call would be $89.00 and that they would text me an estimate. I received the estimate via text stating that, as previously discussed, a $89.00 service call charge and an additional charge of $700 to $800 to "Repair the unit" (Remember, I asked only for the unit to be charged). I was shocked to say the least, talking about a hyperinflated estimate. It was quite obvious that all they intended to do was fleece me for $700 to $800. At this point I was totally disgusted with the estimate. My daughter showed me an add on the Next-door Ap, I called the number and explained what I needed to the technician. Within 1 hour the technician was at my home, checked the unit and stated it needed to be charged due to low freon. He charged the unit, and it worked great. TOTAL COST Service call and 1.75# of freon, $125 plus I gave him a $25 tip for his prompt service. DO NOT TRUST DAVIDSONS TO DO A JOB FOR YOU, FOR SOME EXUBERANT PRICES GET OTHER ESTIMATES. DO NOT LET THEM TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU. If it was possible I would give them a MINUS 5 rating, what a disappointment .

What should have been a straightforward thermostat reinstallation and programming job turned into a nearly week-long ordeal defined by poor communication, lack of preparation, and zero follow-through. When I called to schedule the appointment, I was thorough. I mentioned the building is two storeys and that the technician would likely need a long ladder to access the rooftop compressors. I also specifically requested to be contacted directly if anything changed or if unexpected costs came up. Simple enough, right? The day of the appointment, the technician was scheduled to arrive between 10 and 12 PM. By noon, no one had shown up and no one had called. I reached out myself, only to be told he was running late on another job and wouldn't arrive until 2 PM at the earliest. A courtesy call would have gone a long way. Instead, I sat waiting with no update whatsoever. When he finally arrived, there was no direct communication from him either. I had to ask my tenant to pass along a message to have him call me. He confirmed the issue was exactly what I had described when booking: a thermostat that needed to be reprogrammed and rewired. Progress, finally. Or so I thought. A short while later, my tenant informed me the technician had left without completing the job. The reason? He hadn't brought a long enough ladder to access the roof, the very thing I had flagged when I made the appointment. The next day came and went. No technician, no call, no update. I later learned he was unwilling to go onto the roof without a second technician for safety reasons, a policy I can respect, but one that should have been communicated to me immediately and not left to surface on its own. By Friday, I called customer service to get answers. I was told they'd call me back once they heard from the technician. Three hours passed and nothing. I called again. Same answer. Hours later, I called a third time. Still the same response. I eventually gave up, called another company, and they resolved the issue the very next day. As of writing this review, I still haven't received a single callback. Not an apology, not an explanation, not even an acknowledgment that any of this happened. At this point, the message is loud and clear: they simply don't need your business. And after this experience, they won't be getting mine.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

As anyone who's gone through this knows, the HVAC industry can feel like a black hole of information where it's hard to know who to trust. Freddy (the owner of AC King) was highly recommended, and that referral ended up being a game-changer. Within minutes of talking to Freddy, it was clear he had the patience to educate us. He took the time to explain the systems, the differences, and his honest opinion like a true advisor. That conversation alone earned our trust. From that point on, Freddy's responsiveness, expertise, and customer-first approach stood out at every step. This was a big project -- we installed a 4-ton Carrier Infinity heat pump and air handler, redid all of our ducting, and even had asbestos abatement completed beforehand. Freddy guided us through each stage, setting clear expectations and putting us completely at ease. (The abatement team he brought in was also excellent -- clean, professional, and efficient.) On installation day, his crew showed up bright and early and got right to work. They operated like a true team -- focused, coordinated, and clearly proud of their craft. With Freddy's hands-on leadership and attention to detail, they finished this massive job by around 2 p.m. -- we had expected it to take two full days! That saved us valuable time as we were trying to move in on a tight schedule. After getting multiple estimates, we can confidently say AC King offered a great mix of expertise, communication, and fair pricing. Freddy genuinely looks out for your best interests and treats your home as if it were his own. If you're looking for an HVAC company that combines honesty, skill, and true customer care, AC King and Freddy's crew are the real deal. We couldn't recommend them more highly.

Reynen and Kendrick were the HVAC technicians that came to my house. I'm very particular about having people in my house. I've had contractors come, who I just do not feel comfortable with. They were very nice and polite. The checked out and assessed everything. They replaced the filter and the AC is blowing ice cold. They provided us a quote for when we eventually have to replace our AC unit which we plan on doing next year. I don't think we can find a better deal. I was very happy with the work, and how they listened to our concerns. It felt like we had very respectable friends over when they were here. We will definitely be using AC King for the foreseeable future. Thank you guys so much!

I was requested to provide a credit card for the rental without even knowing what the services or costs would entail, so I refused to provide one and they just didn't show up for either of the scheduled services, nor provided a courtesy call. This morning, I tried to schedule a service again for my primary home (not the rental), and while there were available times on the website, I received a call demanding a credit card again saying my address was linked to a rental. I restated multiple times that the service I was requesting was NOT for the rental and the lady kept bringing up the rental. She finally said she would 'redflag' the rental address, schedule me for my primary home and would check to see if there were available times. She came back in 2 seconds and said there were no available times that she would place me on a waitlist. I informed her there were still slots listed on her website, and she said they are all gone now. I just went back to the company's website scheduling portal and they have several openings as early as 3/6. I feel this lady is discriminating against me or wanting to commit fraud by demanding a credit card without even quoting me on anything or getting details on the service requested. I am deeply disappointed and would caution people from soliciting services from this company. I had been receiving the company's flyer for over a year now and was finally excited to call because of the reviews and pricing listed on flyer. I am shocked at the lady who schedules and the demands for a credit card only to me. I had someone else try to schedule and a credit card was not demanded. I will take my business elsewhere.

ALFRED BIRNHAUPL (AC leak repair) - Fixed pipe leak from AC and completed comprehensive assessment of our dysfunctional zoning system. DOMENICK ALONGE (project manager) - Reviewed findings from Alfred, provided detailed indication of issues and resolution options with several quotes. Here's why our experience has been superior to previous companies: All three specialists were not only punctual, friendly, and courteous, but they took their time to evaluate our issues in CLEAR layman terms corroborated by photos, and showing us exactly where the problems were in person. We previously obtained a quote from a large corporate company and was left feeling dumbfounded and stressed as they described the nature of our problem in engineering, technical jargon that made absolutely no sense, including astronomical quotes without explanation of the work entailed. We continued experiencing intermittent issues with our AC and heater so we called Friends & Family based on their excellent reviews. This time around, with Friends & Family, we left feeling knowledgeable and reassured, with reasonable quotes including various discount eligibility. We didn't feel pressured by them to choose one route vs. the other; rather, gained the information we needed to make an informed decision that would prevent such issues in the future. Overall, their attention to detail, ability to explain the issues and resolution routes in simple, concrete terms, were far superior than the preceding company. They exceeded our expectations and we much appreciated their patience and openness to answering all our questions. I also want to mention that I was gardening when SEAN was fixing our AC. He saw me struggling to dig a hole for my plant and volitionally offered to help me. He took the extra time to dig the hole for me, exemplifying his genuine kindness and generosity! Similarly, my kids were running amuck and screaming and shouting while I attempted to maintain a conversation with ALFRED. He was very understanding and continued to engage in conversation, appearing unbothered by the chaos with a pleasant disposition. Lastly, DOMENICK was appointed on the day of our son's birthday. He related to us interpersonally and even helped assemble my son's new Radio Flyer bike! I told him that Sean also helped me garden and we laughed about how Friends & Family is a "one-stop shop." Given everything I mentioned, we're excited to have our overdue AC/heater system fully repaired by Friends & Family. My air conditioner went out years ago and they changed it out. At the time they also wanted to do my furnace I told them no which my furnace was still good for another couple years and then they came back changed a part on it saving me a little money but the. It went out so I had to shell up the big bucks for it. The value here I do think is better than other places but I wish they would work on the upsell a little bit because times are tough and we don't need that but I do trust this company for things I do need.
