    SERIOUSLY!?!? FYI - American Airlines posted a $53 Billion (yes, with a "B") dollar year for 2023 -- best yearly report ever. Sunday I flew out of RDU for the work week. I ended up checking my one suitcase like usual, but checked it via the curb side service versus inside at counter. It usually cost $30 dollars to check your first suitcase. (Unless you booked first class or have "status" with American Airlines. What took me by surprise is that AMERICA AIRLINES is now charging a $3.00 convenience fee for using curb side service (payment by card only). This is in addition to tipping. At what point - is it just considered gauging? When is enough, enough ?! In my opinion, the $3.00 charge idea will eventually spread to the other airline as well as increase in amount charged. The pricing will continue to climb until ppl stop using curb side. Pricing those employees out of a job.

    If I was to play the game "never will I ever", my answer would be to fly American Airlines again. After flying Delta consistently , I was astonished at how much smaller and I comfortable everything is on these planes, especially the restrooms and this whole idea of BYOE, bring your own entertainment seems pretty cheap to me. Not completely sure of how to describe the seats in the plane, the best I could come up with was it is like sitting in a big divet. The human ass is not meant to comfortably sit in a divet of any size for any period of time without going numb. The best you can do to stay comfortable is shift between cheeks, either way there is no sitting still without any part of your ass going numb. Definitely no sleeping on this flight. The staff are great but the comfort is not! Cheers!

    This is my RDU-based (Raleigh-Durham International Airport) review for American Airlines. At the time of writing this, American has the third-highest market share at RDU behind Delta and Southwest. Delta and United are my preferred carriers and the two I've flown with the most. American is rare for me, but with me spending more time in the Triangle, I've been flying American a bit more. My most recent American Airlines trip, originating at RDU, had me connecting at DFW (Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport), American's largest hub. The flight from RDU to DFW was 3 hours 22 minutes on a Boeing 737-800. Everything was fine. No delays. Service was fine. The plane was fine. It was clean. This particular plane didn't have screens in the seatbacks. Instead, there were phone/tablet stands and USB ports. We could connect to American's in-flight Wi-Fi and, at no additional charge, stream new, premium movies, shows, and live TV. The content selection was decent. My wife and I both used this service with our personal devices and the streaming quality was consistently good. I used my laptop to watch live TV: ESPN and CNN. I consider it a plus when flights offer live TV. Along with USB ports, the plane had AC power sockets. Perfect for my laptop. We flew out of Gate C21 and into Gate C11, both located on the north end of Terminal 2 at RDU. IIRC, there was about a 20-30-minute delay on our return flight from DFW to RDU, but it wasn't a big deal. Ultimately, American Airlines is OK with me, which equates to three Yelp stars. I still prefer Delta and United, admittedly perhaps due to familiarity.

    I was forced to check my carry-on because "overheads were full" so pretty much a 50-year legacy of xmas ornaments are crushed, nevermind having to wait 30 min. on luggage given I NEVER check a bag. Guess what?!? I'm on board and took pics as I walked diwn the aisle. There's room for roughly 25 carry-ons at max size. I went back and they would not let me pick up my bag be the door where mine was collected. WHAT A LOAD OF GARBAGE!!! LIED TO COMPLETELY!!! DISHONEST!!! I will be raving mad when I land and am going to boycott AA and tell every faculty member and student the rest of my life precisely what dishonest dealings deserve. THANK YOU FOR MAKING MY FLIGHT SO MEMORABLE.

    I genuinely hate American Airlines but what if instead of American Airlines it was Freak Airlines and instead of flying they got freaky.

    Customer service automation is awful, canceled my flight DO NOT FLY WITH AMERICAN they will screw you over. I encourage everyone to stay away from American and consider quite literally anything else.

The airport its self is very large and we did have trouble with AA in getting our paid luggage tag. Machine not working. Staff telling us different things as to get it fixed. But finally we were taken care of. At that time of the morning TSA was quiet and we got right through. We arrived at the airport at midnight from Charlotte but we had to call for the shuttle because it was taking a long time for the bus to come up to the second deck to get us. But a lady had just reported in and she came and got us. She apologized that we had to wait, which was nice of her. She was pleasant and got us right to our vehicle. Again, great service from the shuttle staff. My only complaint is that we could not find the parking area for economy that was supposed to be $12 a day. We ended up at express which was $18 a day. We were told the old parking lot way out in the back had been replaced and was now for employees. It's a long drive for me to use this airport. The only thing I would suggest is that the signage be clearer for the parking areas and make sure the website is properly updated.
