    All State Courier

I was in a bind because I had set up a service that didn't work out. All State Courier came through…read moreand picked up my package within 30 minutes. They were easy to work with and provided a very quick delivery for my company. Sam were very communicative - he let me know who the drive was and confirmed when it was delivered.

Whereas we have used All State Couriers previously, and received wonderful service, this last…read moresituation has prompted me to write a review. We sent an email requesting service from All State with explicit instructions as to what to pick up, where to pick it up and where to deliver the items. After 2 "no-shows" by the person they were picking up from, the items were finally retrieved (FYI, all no-shows are paid by us because we know that everyone's time is valuable and it's not their fault that some people don't adhere to their commitments. Plus, the job was prepaid, as is the policy of All State.) The person gave All State the box with old UPS shipping labels on it. After the package was rejected by FedEx bc of the old shipping labels, and instead of contacting us to see if there was a change in the instructions we emailed to them, the driver took the items to UPS, who used the old label and sent the package back to the person they had just picked it up from. Once we saw the receipt, we tried to stop the shipment but were too late. Upon contacting All State to find out what had happened, Sam told us that it was our fault because we didn't tell them that the old labels were on the box ( a detail we had no knowledge of whatsoever) and was hostile and rude to myself and my colleague, who had called All State immediately once she found out that the shipment had been sent incorrectly. I don't know what's happened to this company, but we will not be using them again. We now have added expenses to recover the equipment, again, and ship it correctly back to our client.

I had never heard of Fetch until my building announced that they were doing away with concierge…read morepackage service, and were adding a new amenity, Fetch, with package delivery right to our door. People were upset about this news, as it would mean shipping all of our packages to a warehouse way out in Alexandria, so a Fetch salesman came to the building to try and allay our concerns. He claimed that they had agreements with the major carriers to have deliveries brought to them first thing in the morning, so in theory we could get our packages sooner from them, than we would normally through delivery direct to the building. That turned out to be not true. Packages were delivered to Fetch throughout the day, and then you'd have to wait for them to process them into the system, which could take a few hours. Then you'd have to schedule delivery, but they only had 3 2-hour delivery windows on weekdays, and 2 3-hour delivery windows on weekends. Lots of people worked during those delivery windows, so it became impossible to get their packages. If I got a package on a Friday evening, I wouldn't get it until Monday or Tuesday because I didn't want to have to sit around all weekend waiting on a package. You could choose to sign for your packages, or have them left at your door. I chose to sign, since I work from home. Only one of the regular delivery people ever had me sign. The rest would just hand me the package, and walk off. A few minutes later I would get an email with a scribble that was purportedly my signature, but clearly wasn't. One day I got a notification from Fetch that I had a package that I was expecting, so I scheduled delivery. That delivery window came and went, no package. I checked the system, and my package was no longer in there. I emailed them, and it got added back, and I scheduled another delivery. Then it disappeared again. I contacted them, and they claimed they never received it, obviously a lie since they were the ones who notified me of the package. The tracking numbers matched. After a week of back and forth between them and my building manager, I finally got a check for the value of the lost package, but I was lucky that it was under $500, because that's all they would cover. My building's contract with them finally ended, but nobody told us. I had a package shipped to Fetch, only to find out they wouldn't deliver it. I had to go all the way out to Alexandria. Their warehouse wasn't near the Metro, and most of the route there didn't have a sidewalk due to construction, forcing me to walk in the road for parts. Their warehouse had no sign, and was completely open. I just walked in, and had to flag someone down to help me. He was friendly about it, but all of the packages were just out in the open. I was shocked. There seemed to be no security measures. I'm thankful to no longer have to deal with this middle man company.

Zero would be a more accurate rating than 1. This service is unsustainable. My complex decided to…read moreget rid of the concierge package pick up for this ridiculous duplicative service. Packages travel via merchant shipping (usps, ups, fedex)from Chantilly to Alexandria and then back to Herndon/reston/Chantilly via unreliable random delivery people in personal cars. We are forced to pay for the service as part of our rent. So there is zero recourse if there is an issue with delivery. My holiday package was delivered to the wrong address, clear by the delivery confirmation photo, this was not my door. A week later zero investigation has been done to figure out where the package was delivered. Fetch is demanding my entire merchant order receipt along with their receipt/delivery confirmation. No, violation of privacy. This third party does not need to know what items are in my order. Just ask your driver where they delivered the package. Again, zero recourse if you are required to pay for this awful unsustainable "service". Skip it and stick with the merchant shipping, atleast you have a shot at getting a replacement item or a full refund without all the runaround Fetch gives you. . 0 out of 5.
