I found it the hard way by not keeping up with deductions until it was too late to pay it in the 90 days. I assumed I financed furniture for $2200 and would have been paid off by Aug 2024 however I check the balance and I owe $4000. Reading after the fact the contract, why am I paying 65% back and the loan was supposed to be paid off in 101 days at 169 every 2 weeks. Obviously at that rate it would not be paid off in 101 days. I don't understand how this is legal. If I had known furniture that's not worth $2000 would turn into $9000 I would not have taken the loan. I financed 3 pieces not a whole house. They send me a statement and none of the math adds up. They owe me money based on their statement yet the customer service rep says that he sees a $0 balance because it's paid off. Refusing to admit that they owe me money. I was never late, and he said they had other fees like NSF and late fees oh and the mysterious $99 early payoff fee. Paid off my account a few days early and got a confirmation email/could see it in my transaction history because I paid it right before autopay was due. Still got charged my biweekly amount even after my account was closed so naturally I disputed the claim because I was charged after I got my confirmation email, now they claim it was an autopay that was already credited to my account but took time to come out, which caused my account to reopen with no notice and then claim I own an additional almost $500. Called to get this fixed and of course their hours of operation are inconvenient and their website is barely functional. They claim I still need to make this payment for them to close my account which is incredibly suspicious and this company is borderline exploitative. My partner and I purchased furniture in May of 2023 (I am writing this as of 6/12/2024) and the total cost of the furniture was $3,260.40. It is now over a year later, we have ~$4,300 paid and we still have over $4,000 to go. When getting the furniture at Mor Furniture, they completely skipped over the fact that the total payment would be $8,500 and would be done being paid off by JUNE OF 2025. When purchasing the furniture they completely skipped over all details of this being a total cost of over 8 grand. If they had mentioned that at ALL I would have just... not purchased the furniture. I was alone buying furniture for the first time in my life, and they said that the total cost of the furniture would be $3,200. My payment plan was only $320 per month, so that seemed more than reasonable. It is now over a year later and I am stuck paying an absurd amount of money to people that I got a loan from over a year ago, and will be paying almost 300% of what they gave me in the first place. So I have been waiting for the final buy out option to hit a certain amount and 2 weeks ago it was 202 then I paid 103 this 2 week period the amount to buy out went up 11 dollars instead of down. All I can say is run from this place I thought even after the 90 days were up the account would go down some, well after today I'd had enough and paid it off when I received the account history I saw the issue out of the 103 I was paying 30 dollars went to the product the other 73 was fees. It seems the closer you get to finally paying it off the higher the fees and what ever else they can tack on starts to come into play just to keep bleeding you for more money. This company is vague in the way they word their contracts and will charge you additional fees no matter what you do. I was concerned about the verbiage of their contract before signing and called a financial rep to confirm which that rep incorrectly informed what that contract meant. I signed the document under a different pretense of what was informed. When I caught the issue I was initially concerned about I reached out and was advised I will have to pay the fees regardless of what the rep misinformed because it's contractual. My advice is don't do a contract through them because their contracts are not transparent and they will lie about what is in it when you ask. Luckily for me I caught it early enough and will be returning the product to void our contract. read more

i purchased a dog abt 7 months ago. very expensive so i needed a loan. american first finance approved me and went the next day to adopt him. process was ok when i was at the store, not super smooth, but everything worked out and went through. after going through with it i decided to look up reviews. bad idea. it scared me due to everyone saying it was a scam and was charging them thousands after not paying it off by a certain time. so i decided to pay him off within a month (i think it gave me abt 90 days until i would start paying interest). i am very fortunate to be able to pay him off very early. but if you think you would not be able to in a short amount of time i would suggest looking for other options bc of other reviews. but my experience went smoothly. got him in October 7th, and paid it off by beginning of November. read more

I was told when purchasing a couch and love seat for a price of 1400 that I could finance this and low monthly payments with an early buyout price. Fine and dandy I was instructed that I would get free delivery and set up with this. 5 months later and not seeing a positive credit report I looked on the agreement which I had to have them send me because it was all signed digitally that i would be LEASING this, not FINANCING! Big difference between the 2. The contract stated lease and also they charged me 250 for delivery and I tipped 100 to the guys because I was under the impression It was free and it wasn't! LIED TO FROM THE START and now nothing is being reported to credit because its a lease. I called my bank declined future transactions and reversed charges for the whole month. Then called American First Finance and told them in order for them to get another penny from me they will have to take me to court and i am prepared to fight this and win! They send me an email for a settlement amount for 600 bucks..ummm no I am not paying another penny! So if you want out of this call your bank and deny future transactions and they will not take it to court because they are scammers! GOOD LUCK! read more
