The service in-store was fine. I was left to look and wasn't bothered until I was ready for help. Everything fell apart on delivery day. The delivery guys left my house a mess and scratched walls. After I signed and gave them a tip, one of the guys tells me it's store policy NOT to dispose of boxes. Why didn't anyone mention this beforehand? I purchased over 5000 worth of furniture here in February 2018, along with that I purchase a 5 year warranty for an additional 149. When I needed to use the warranty every time I reached out to warranty company I got a run around. I went back to American Furniture for assistance in this matter and was told they couldn't help me this was from the same salesman that sold me the furniture. So I purchased furniture here in august 2014. The one section on sectional felt funny sitting on it. So in december it broke during the holidays I called after the new year (2015) and told them. They sent out a sub contractor that glued the wood support together. 4 months later it broke again the guy shows up says he won't fix it. So in june I called the store was ignored I went there they told the guy is going to fix it. I called the repair guy he said no he's not. So now in July I'm still fighting for a new piece. I will be going to small claims court if not dealt with by August 1st 2015 and contacting nbc 10 cause they are a scam and shouldn't be in business! read more

I purchased furniture from American Furniture Design's Springfield location. Furniture was delivered to my house on 3/13/2021. The delivery crew was unable to get the sofa into my living room. In the meantime, they put holes, indentations, and drag marks on my walls and ceiling, and the broke my blinds. The delivery crew hid the damage to the blinds by pulling them all the way up. The delivery crew left for the first time without acknowledging the damage they caused. The salesman Michael said I was lying and that the damage was preexisting, a statement he later retracted. While speaking with Michael, he hoped on another call with the delivery crew and sent them back to my house to take pictures. Michael's supervisor, Mark, who works at the American Furniture Design store in Delran New Jersey had his contractor look at the pictures of the damage. American Furniture Design's stance on the damage is that it's "some nicks and dirt". The delivery crew bend the metal corner bead in the ceiling. That damage alone exceeds their description "some nicks and dirt". And they have yet to address how a bent metal bead can accurately be described as "some nicks and dirt". I sent Mark an itemized repair estimate which was written by a contractor I've previously hired. Mark doubted the legitimacy of the contract and the estimate. He requested my contractor's insurance information. Upon receiving the insurance information, Mark immediately disregarded it, and said that he just wanted to see if I'd actually send it. I ended up taking them to court and won. They didn't send Adam, Michael, Mark, or their contractor, to court. Instead, they sent a salesman who has no ownership of the company, and someone who I never dealt/talked with before. As of 9/2/2021, I have yet to receive any payment for the judgement against them. read more

I cannot even begin to describe how angry, disappointed, and frustrated I am with American Furniture Design right now. I should've known from the minute I walked in the store to turn around and run out the door! I went in to browse for furniture, but was hounded by the salesman even though I specifically said I was just looking. After finding some pieces I liked, I went to the salesman to get prices. I decided to finance and the financing options were absolute terrible! I decided to stick with the company anyway instead of following my original plan of going with Raymour & Flannigan...this was clearly a mistake. I was originally told my furniture would be delivered between March 4-5th. I later received a phone call stating my furniture was back ordered until March 15th. To my surprise, I recieved another call stating my furniture was available (even earlier then originally stated). I asked if my furniture could be delivered before 1PM because of work reasons but was told "I can't guarantee that." So I scheduled to have my furniture delivered today (3/3/15) between 4-6. After rushing home from work and waiting around, NOBODY SHOWED UP! Nor did anyone call me to let me know they weren't coming so I wasted time waiting around. When I called the store to find out why nobody showed up, I was told, "oh you're in the system, are you sure they didn't come?" I was told they will reschedule for Thursday (3/5/5). On top of that, I was told they will deliver by 1PM. Why is it that it wasn't guaranteed today, but they will do it Thursday?! I'm half tempted to just completely cancel my order and go to Raymour & Flanagan like I should've done in the first place! We'll see if the furniture actually gets delivered Thursday. It goes without saying that I will NEVER waste another penny at American Furniture Design again and will definitely NOT recommend anyone ever go there. I've had absolutely nothing but an absolutely terrible experience from the very beginning. I've never experienced worse customer service from a company. One star is being way too generous! read more

Manager here is a nutcase... Full of excuses when they sold me an inferior product. Charles is the only patient sales guy there but sometimes he is overextended. I bought two end tables and a floor lamp from this store. When they arrived two weeks late I had to assemble them!!!! This was not told to us. When we assembled the first end table we turned it over and the bolts came through the top of the material it was not wood. We took the whole lot back and was bullied and told It's our fault, no money would be given back. This was unacceptable. I argued and argued and the one employed was more that rude and disrespectful. When I told him I would sue him, I tried to take a picture and he tried to hit my phone out of my hand! I called 911. Bought living room furniture back in August or September of 2015. Within a year the couch has totally broken apart. I removed the bottom liner to look at what was the issue to find that two out of three of the main supports were broken in half. This was due to knots in the wood were right in the center causing a weak point which in turn caused the supprt to crack in half. The quality of workmanship in the build is absolutely deplorable and for the money that was spent this should not be the case. My family and our many friends are well aware of our issue and some of them have purchased items from this establishment and are not happy with their particular items. We will never shop at this store again and we hope this helps other families that are about to spend good money on quality furniture not shop there but instead shop somewhere else for good piece of mind read more

After having furniture from this company for less than a year, the one inside recliner pull broke. They came out to repair it, but didn't have the right tools or parts with them WHAT?! So now I can wait again and take MY time again to have these people repair it, hopefully! They are aweful at customer service and the sectional I have isn't made well at all. So angry with this company. I scheduled delivery two weeks ago for today. Delivery should have taken place between 11 and 5 with a call 30 minutes prior to arrival. Spoke with charles at 4:37 and he assured me that my furniture would be delivered today. It is now 7:19 and the guy calls to tell me he can't deliver my furniture unless i have someone to help him. Can you believe that? He wants us to deliver our own furniture. In the dark and the rain. I scheduled this delivery two weeks ago why was i the last delivery of the day? This place is such a joke. Now i am without living room and bedroom furniture. My house is in an uproar and my husband turned down overtime to be here for the delivery. This was the worst experience I've ever had. We almost walked out when no one would help us. We had to ask 2 people that worked there before someone finally decided to sell us something. I wish now that I had walked out. We ordered a sectional couch and a TV stand. They told us the TV stand would take 1-3 weeks for delivery. When I called after a week and a half to see about when it would come (because we were never told that someone would call us) I was told "I already told your husband 1-3 weeks" That was the first of many smart remarks. They also never return phone calls, they were late, they were extremely rude and they only delivered half of our sectional. When we asked when the other half we be delivered, they couldn't answer us. I became very upset and frustrated at this point. I was told by Omar that I am ridiculous and it was a human error. He never apologized for the inconvenience or tried to get the couch to us in a timely manner. He said it was going to be 4 more days. He also told me that he wished he didn't accept me as a customer. I really wish I gave my money to a company that appreciates it. Oh and when I told him that they left their trash all over my patio out front, he said. Your Money doesn't cover the cost to remove your trash. We gave the men a very good tip. It was the least they can do. We had to force them to clean it up and even then they left without taking half of it. This is a horrible company. It doesn't even deserve the 1 star that I have to give!! read more
