Established in 1922.

Founded in 1922, American Insurance is a fourth-generation Independent insurance agency that is owned and actively operated by the Sullivan family. The Agency represents America's leading insurance companies and writes thousands of policies of every type and kind of insurance. American Insurance has two service locations in north central Idaho at Lewiston and Moscow and writes insurance in five western states. We are an Agency of proven professionals with experience and specialized knowledge for every insurance need - auto, home, business, farm, bonds, medical, life and employee benefits. Our agents are caring and conscientious people you can trust and depend on.

Meet the Business Owner: John S.

John Sullivan is a veteran insurance agent since 1977 with extensive experience in every aspect of personal and commercial property-casualty insurance as well as life, medical and benefit coverage. Since 1996, John has been the Agency president and general manager overseeing all Agency operations. His professional designations included Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and Life Underwriters Training Council Fellow (LUTCF) . John is a past president of the Lewis Clark Life Underwriters and is current president of the Lewiston Independent Insurance Agents Association. He has six grown children, two of whom are active agents at American Insurance.
