I walked out to my car during my work lunch and came out to a flat. AAA technician recommended I come here and gave me the specs to ask for. I spoke with Fred and he quoted me about 20-30 min for my one tire. Quite honestly I think they only took 15 mins. Fred was extremely nice and reassuring. This place is the best! I called in to ask about replacing my tires which weren't replaced in 7 years (haha). I've been really nervous about driving my car because my tire pressure light kept turning on once a week. Art picked up the phone and told me he has the all season tires for my car, and that I could get them replaced today. And 3 tires + 1 deal is awesome! Great value for Bridgestone for extra $93 off. And everyone stayed behind an extra hour to make sure my tires are also aligned correctly, etc... and I felt welcome and comfortable, even though it was probably tough for them to squeeze me in at the last minute. I had a terrible experience this morning with a gentleman who was very aggressive and abrasive. His name is Art. I came in with a flat tire and wanted to get it serviced, I explained to him that I would come back for service to replace my other front tire which would eventually need replacement. I explained again that I wanted to replace only the flat, he refused service me because I didn't want to replace both and was so rude about it. I went down the street to the other American Tire depot on central and spoke to a man named Patrick who was very kind and gave excellent customer service. He told me to come back at the end of the month for the other tire. I left with my tire fixed and satisfied as a customer. I have never ever had an experience like this at all. Which is why I am writing a review. There is just no excuse for bad customer service and I might as well call the corporate office and let them know he needs to be retrained. He should not be working with any customers. Alex at the same location has been great, but I will be switching to the other location on Central. read more

NEGLIGENCE ON THE JOB! DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! My original review was miraculously deleted. So here it is again: My husband had my tires rotated the day before, a 350+ mile drive to Northern California. I'm on the freeway, and about 100 miles in, my tire light goes off. I thought it was odd, given that I had just gotten my tires rotated. But for peace of mind, I pulled over to the nearest gas station, and to my surprise, I discovered that 1 LUG NUT WAS NOT SCREWED IN!! Thankfully, there was an auto shop nearby and I purchased a lug nut and they helped screw it in before I got back on the freeway. My husband goes to the shop, in person, on a Saturday morning, and this is their response: 1. I would have been fine on the road if only one lug nut was missing (are you kidding me?! So then why the 5th hole?) 2. The VW lug caps were missing before I had my tires rotated (which is complete BS because we checked ALL 4 tires before we decided it was time for a tire rotation) 3. To call on Monday to see if they have the missing lug nut and lug caps (now why would WE follow up? This was YOUR job, and YOU should be following up with us) Mind you, my husband got NO APOLOGY. NO ACCOUNTABILITY whatsoever. We called on a Monday and they couldn't give us an answer regarding the missing parts. So, we visited the shop on Tuesday and still, they have no clue where the missing parts are. Fine. If they lost the parts, then say so. But don't put it on the customer and say that they got the car with missing parts when they worked on it. COMPLETE BULLSHIT. Had there been a missing lug nut to begin with, why didn't they notify my husband the day they serviced my car? Isn't this a business for tire maintenance?! Do you think it's acceptable to give the owner his keys KNOWING it had a missing lug nut? Again, no apology whatsoever. They didn't even offer to buy a new set of VW lug caps (which is only $20 for a set). The least they can do to make it (somewhat) right. Anyway, all this to say that I COULD HAVE GOTTEN INTO A TERRIBLE CAR ACCIDENT driving on the freeway!! Thank God that the tire light went off. This review really should be zero stars. read more

Too busy? I guess so. But after leaving me on hold for 16 or 17 minutes I was disconnected. I had never used this place and was willing to try someone new. But after not even being able to speak to someone to make an appointment, I will not use them. Ever. Customer service may seem old-fashioned but in this new age of self-service and technology driven everything, for me customer service is number one. I like humans. I want humans around to interact with. I want to do business with humans. When a business doesn't care enough to hire humans that care enough about the service they are providing or is unwilling to spend the money to have enough humans there to do the job. Unfortunately, I had a flat tire not too long ago on the freeway. There aren't too many notable tire shops in DTLA and the inner city so I figure I'd bring my tire to ATD in Glendale. I called the day before to make sure they had the tire in stock and for a reasonable price. The tire shop off the I-105 and I-110 close to where I had a flat on the freeway wanted to charge me $40 higher than ATD. Anyways, I showed up first thing in the morning only to find out ATD's air compressor was down. One would figure with a tire business, they'd have a back up and or check the day prior to prepare for the next. Well, I guess not. So, I left my tire there for them to fix and be ready the next day. Arrive first thing again early morning for them to install my tire. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Quick service but a bit annoying after missing my tire caps. Also found out later, my car's tire gage monitor showed the tire they replaced was pumped up to 43 psi. The max is 33. Not so much the tire experts. Skip next time. read more
