I recently moved in to my new home last week and quickly found out how much noise I have behind my home so much so that I couldn't get almost a week's worth of good sleep. I immediately did some research for possible window installment and came across this company that was near by. When I called, the person on the phone was really nice and helpful. Very empathetic of my situation and did her best to schedule the earliest time possible which I truly appreciated. I call the office to follow up, 2 days later we received a link for the door quote, but link didn't work. So I replied the email, and also followed up with a phone call let them know the issue we had, and request a phone call back from Danny...it's been a week, haven't heard anything back. After placing our order, we were contacted to schedule the installation right around the estimated delivery time which was about six weeks later. They were cheaper than all the other contractors I received estimates from, they were able to acquire the materials faster than all the other contractors that I spoke with, and they were able to get the work done faster than all the other contractors I spoke with. Once the work was complete, I was extremely satisfied with the professionalism of the installation crew, the quality of the windows, and the quality of the installation. This company will not disappoint. Okay, now for the full review. I needed a window company to do a direct replacement retrofit for 13 windows on a single-story home. I was not going to be moving or resizing any window openings. I looked around online and found American Window Company along with a few other contractors. When I called American Window Company to request an appointment for an estimate, it took a couple days for the office staff to call me back and add me to the schedule, but it ended up being worth the wait. Once I finally had an appointment set up, I received an email from the owner of the company - Danny Piantanida - to confirm my appointment with him. This surprised me, because I was expecting to just meet with a regular project manager for a simple project estimate, not the actual owner of the company. My meeting with Danny went very well. He listened attentively to my goals and plans for the project, and his experience allowed him to provide valuable input and recommendations. He was very easy to talk to and extremely knowledgeable. Looking back on it now, this is one of the many reasons his business is so successful. Once Danny finished gathering measurements, we started discussing material costs and project timelines. During Danny's customer presentation, I had asked a question about the quality of the windows that American Window Company uses in their installations. He flipped to a page in his presentation and explained that there is basically a certain window quality threshold that American Window Company will not drop below. I don't remember the specifics, but American Window Company does not carry and will not install cheaply made/low quality windows. This made me a little concerned about project cost, but I allowed him to continue. Next, Danny showed me all the brands available, along with their manufacturing and shipping lead times. There were a lot of options for me to choose from, the brands were sorted by price, and the estimated manufacturing and shipping lead times were all right there next to the brand information. This made it very easy for me to make my decision on which windows I wanted to use. Since American Window Company only uses high quality products, I chose their cheapest and earliest available option. The lead time to have these windows built and shipped to the American Window Company warehouse was estimated at about 2 to 3 weeks. Next, we finally started discussing pricing. I was still concerned about cost here because after receiving estimates from other companies, I knew this was going to be expensive. After Danny ran the numbers, the price was about 45% cheaper than the next cheapest estimate I had received. This had to be too good to be true, so I asked Danny how this was possible. He explained that not only is American Window Company a window installer, but they're also a distributor. They get fantastic deals on their products, and this is why he was able to get me such a great price. I asked how long the rest of the process would take after they received the windows. He said they can usually schedule the installation for a couple days after they receive the windows, and the installation for my project should only take 1 day. I asked him how he expects all 13 windows to get installed in 1 day, and he told me about the extremely efficient process he uses to run his projects. He planned to send a crew of 3 guys and a special custom trailer that had been converted into a mobile workshop. This all sounded great, so I agreed to the terms of the job. A few weeks later I received a call from American Window Company informing me that my windows have arrived, and they scheduled the installation for the next day. The installation only took 1 day to complete, and the crew was done by 5:00 PM. The crew was professional, clean, worked quickly, and had great attitudes. They left the property clean and in good order, and the installation quality was great. Even though I went with almost the cheapest windows available, the windows did not look or feel cheap. They're sturdy, easy to operate, and they drastically reduce the amount of noise coming into the house from outside. I'll replace all my future windows with this company again for below reasons: (1) Initial quoting: I had gotten quotes from various window companies before calling American Window. Danny (the owner) came to my house, assessed the measurements, listened patiently to my concerns, and showed me different window brand options he had for my case. This is the first company that would show me the different prices for different brands, so I can research the brands and decide based on my budget and needs. Transparency is key to customers when it comes to pricing! (Danny's response time on email/call for my questions is super quick) (2) Installment: The installment team is all in-house and hired by American Window, so I didn't have to worry about insurance, etc. Other companies that I have asked for quotes hire outside workers, but in my opinion, in-house teams know their products well. The guys who came were polite, professional, and worked efficiently together since they knew their products. This was very important for me as I felt safe when a whole team of strangers worked inside my house. (3) After service: There was a slight issue with some of the screens (due to a factory problem). American Window handled the issue directly with the factory for me and even came to install the new screens...on a bad rainy day! I think the reason for their efficiency across departments is because the team has inherited a great service attitude, so from the office college Angie to the installment college Hasus (I'm sorry if I misspelled your name) all extended the most polite and efficient customer service! I called for an estimate to retrofit all the windows and patio sliders for my home since they were vintage 1974 with aluminum frames and single pane glass.
