We were in town for work and this spot one the group vote. Holy moly. It was fantastic. The location is great and the space is HUGE. They did an amazing job with the layout too and the large bar was gorgeous. I split the Mac n cheese and risotto with a friend and omg. They were both so packed with flavor and just so delicious. We devoured them. We also got one of every dessert on the menu to try, everything was fantastic. Service was great all night, they had an awesome cocktail menu. So I've been to Americana before and had a better experience, not sure what the deal was. Ambiance: Inside was laid back, clean, and the booth was very spacious. Service: To be there on a Tuesday evening, it was pretty empty and the service was not the best. It took the server longer than expected to even provide refills. Food: I tried the Cajun Chicken Gnocchi which I felt was overpriced and the Crab Rangoon dip. The food was just ok, nothing extraordinary about it at all. Out of both items I enjoyed the dip better but it was still missing something. Parking: I parked in the parking garage up the street and walked a couple blocks. There is also street parking. There are several stations set up on the lower floor of the restaurant including part of the kitchen. Fresh fruits, salad and toppings galore can be found to make a healthy pre-gorge-fest plate. The breakfast options inside the kitchen were outstanding and I loved the cinnamon donut holes with Carmel sauce! The smoked pit ham was also very flavorful and was a nice touch of protein. Our server, Erin, was fantastic and recommended the homemade tomato bisque soup with a customized grilled cheese - a true comfort food delight. Erin was lively, prompt and a great host for us as we enjoyed our Saturday brunch. If you happen to have saved room for dessert (which I highly suggest you do!), definitely go for the custard and cheesecake! So busy on a Wednesday night! Our group of 12 sat upstairs. Waitress was quick to get drinks as we arrived & took our appetizer orders. The Caprese charcuterie board was beautiful and tasty as well! And you can't say too much about the Asian wraps! I really like them. The truffle fries were popular as well. Our orders came fairly quickly. I had to have what I did last year - - mac & cheese with shrimp. It came with a slice of bread and was delicious. I took home most of the pasta. We were in town for a legislative recognition ceremony at the capitol... after the ceremony was done we asked for a recommendation for lunch, Americans was it and it was such a great recommendation!! Americans is very close and convenient to the capital and parking is also very easy for lunch. We had seven people in our party... service was phenomenal... Americana was not terribly busy, which is unfortunate because their food was fantastic. But was very fortunate for Ross because we had a nice spot to sit and we were taken care of very well by our server. The food was exceptional... We had a blend of a lot of different things. The Americana burger was recommended to us, and that burger was delicious and absolutely huge! I had the Pear and Gorgonzola salad with chicken.. it was absolutely huge even if they cut it in half. I don't think I could've eaten all of that... That was an extremely delicious salad perfectly tossed with a light salad dressing...just delicious. My niece had the truffle mac & cheese, and she said it was absolutely delicious and my sister had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and she was super happy with her choice as well. I was not happy with this place at all. I went in here with a group and I found it to be quite expensive for brunch($27 for brunch, $42 includes drinks of bloody mary/mimosa). My husband had one drink and because he refilled the drink with orange juice and my teen daughter took some of it, they charged him for the $42 price. The waiter, did not want to hear from us (he basically shooed us away), so we deducted it from his tip/ I also didn't think the food was so great. I ended up having salad and that was about it. I eat healthy and the choices here were not geared up for that (Grilled cheese bar, bacon, potatoes and more). I would have loved more fresh vegetables, fresh or steamed. We've been a few times since my last review, and have continued to have consistently good experiences. On our recent visit we had a reservation and were seated quickly, and got in our drink orders. My wife had a glass of wine from their good selection, and I havd a very nicely crafted martini. They are still utilizing the QR code on the table to view the menu, so it helps to have a smart phone. After ordering, we got our food in a reasonable amount of time, and it was delicious! I got the Nashville Plate and it was a huge portion of chicken, potatoes, and veggies. It made for a great dinner and a nice lunch the next day. My wife got the Petite Medallions, and they were very tasty and tender pieces of beef with a large serving of asparagus (she doubles down on veggies, as she can't have the potatoes). We enjoyed their brunch selections and ate until we were stuffed. We had several different bartenders/waiters checking in on us. The restaurant feels upscale, but people were dressed casually. The food is always the best draw to go to Americana. I rarely do late night. So this was a change. I have had a lot of great experiences here but this one was just okay. First, we had reservations and when we arrived there was no record even though I had the confirmation email in my hand. They were able to get us in without and issue. Second, the restaurant was not full or overly busy and they sat us on the wall section between a family with 2 small children who past bed time and crabby and 3 teenagers who destroyed the table, talked loudly and basically had little respect for adults. Needless to say we looked longingly at the empty tables in other sections and later joked about the mood killing environment. The drinks were good but we would have liked the opportunity for a second, once we got through the meal. (No worries we did go somewhere else for a second drink). Food, again the food here is good. We ordered the pan seared chicken and a pear Gorgonzola salad with chicken. The the pan seared was good- batter was light and crispy and as expected. The Pear Gorgonzola salad however was lack luster and disappointing. The pears were not quite ripe and hard, the chicken was dry and over cooked and about half way through the salad was swimming in dressing and no longer appealing. Continuing to be a solid 4 stars for me. Our service is always always incredible. I think that the split floors is wonderful as long as you're not doing brunch for the day. It is usually pretty loud, however, if you get lucky to be in the top you can people watch OR if you are lucky enough to have a spot in the back - it is quieter. As for the food, it is all incredible. Everything is delicious and I have never been disappointed. My four stars solely comes from the pricing, as it seems to be overpriced - with this sort of pricing, you would expect a soup or salad option to come with as a starter. That is my only qualm. I also ordered an appetizer to share with the table - and it was eaten to fast to take a photo of, their Asian lettuce wraps are okay! Definitely not my favorite, but still good. My mom got the Asian salad wraps which were okay, but not great. There was nothing specific we could pin on it, but our food was simply mediocre. This may be okay sometimes, but definitely not for $30 dishes. The HH menu is solid with some good deals. $6 mules and champagne drinks, $3 beers, and apps for around $7. Servers were really nice, efficient, and working hard. The apps themselves were just okay. We tried the edamame, crab Rangoon dip, shrimp dip, cheese curds and hummus. All of them were just average. The portion sizes were solid though. Cocktail wise, we tried a variety of the champagne drinks and none really blew us away. I'm not really a mule fan so I didn't want to go that route. I tried the pear mule which was decent and my hunny had glenlivet. For our meal i had the chicken Philly which was pretty yummy with fries. My hunny had the winner basket which was just chicken tenders nothing out of the ordinary. It was a Monday afternoon so there was no crowd. Very spacious as they have an upstairs also. I went here recently and I just wanted to say that the environment was pretty good and the food was good for your basic alternative restaurant. When my party and I went, the waiter we had was attentive and very sweet but I will say something silly happened. So, his pants did kind of fall down.... to his ankles. But he was funny about it, he was wearing undies so it wasn't vulgar or anything and he was super chill about it, like it never happened. I just wanted to mention that maybe he should invest in a belt? We left him a good tip regardless because he was super sweet. I just thought it was kind of funny and figured I would share. There's an adjacent free parking lot, and it's close to the Civic Center. You'll need a reservation--it's exceptionally busy and extremely popular. While I'm not usually a fan of buffets unless I'm at Disney World, this one is well-maintained, items are frequently replenished, the wait staff here is always helpful and personable, and the rest rooms are quite clean. If mobility is a concern, ask to be seated on the ground floor. There's a very steep, tall staircase leading to the upstairs dining room, and navigating that with hands full would be a challenge. I've been watching portion sizes and food choices lately, so I stuck to the can't-miss tomato bisque with a made-to-order grilled cheese sandwich with bacon. For brunch, it was a filling and delicious splurge but not worth $27, which was the price for the buffet. You can eat as much as you'd like, but if you aren't going to indulge, you'll pay a hefty price. Children pay $12, and that's a bargain for what's available. Others in our party loved the breakfast-style buffet area with pancakes, French toast, sausage, eggs, and a big assortment of fruit. There are fresh salads with heaps of toppings from healthful options to sinful indulgences. You can build your taco to suit at the taco bar, try one of the many mac and cheese varieties, or top mashed potatoes with a wide assortment of goodies. Things that should be hot are hot, cold foods are kept chilly, and the entire enterprise runs as smoothly as a well-oiled machine. They are pros here and know how to maintain this gold mine of a restaurant. It's popular for good reason! If you're looking for cocktails, beers, wines, and all sorts of alcoholic specialties, you can find just about whatever pleases you. In addition, there are fountain beverages, iced tea, coffee, lemonade, and many other non-alcoholic drinks. The desserts aren't extensive, but they are delicious. Chocolate mousse, custard, Rice Krispie treats were sampled and enjoyed at our table. I highly recommend Americana, but you must make a reservation. It's a charming city with interesting architecture and--if our meal at Americana is any indication--an impressive food culture. Americana is across the street from a cool sculpture garden and the building itself is a vintage brick beauty. Our server was welcoming and attentive, and every one of our dishes were excellent. We could not have picked a better place to eat our only meal in the city. Also, I am gluten-free and there were tons of options!
